Okay folks I'm working my way slowly through the characters. I think we're gonna have to do quite a bit of tweaking with the backgrounds to get you lot together on Thractin and to get them to fit the time line. That tweaking's going go a lot easier if you can all see your characters. So I'll give em a once over, PM/E-mail you guys any drastic and immediate changes needed to be made. After you've made em, post version two here and we'll keep with the tweaking till we're all happy with them, and then we'll get going.

Personality: Grim, tired and disillusioned, Brek is a man who's lost his ideals and trying to find his place in the Galaxy, or a good bottle of lum.

The Empire, Palpatine's New Order; strength, order in the face of chaos, unity, fellowship and prosperity. The Empire was correcting all the shortcomings of the Republic that stood before it.

Or so it seemed.

Brek watched as the Empire came into and grew in power, bringing strength and unity to the Galaxy. His home planet of Ord Biniir was one of the planets, formerly wracked by conflict and civil war in the late years of the Republic, that the Empire brought to order. Believing that the Empire was a force of good for the Galaxy, Brek wanted nothing more through his youth than to join the Imperial machine and help other less fortunate planets come to order. When he was 18 he enlisted in the Imperial Army and began his career. He excelled in his training throught the Army corps and in only three years, was enlisted into the illustrious Stormtrooper Corps.

Through his training he showed aptitude in spotting and analyzing dangerous situations, often acting as a warning element for the rest of his Corps. It wasn't long before he was moved from training as a standard Stormtrooper to training as a Stormtrooper Scout. His keen senses and the mobility of the Scout position synergized well bringing him a certain degree of success in the position; his officers spoke highly of him and he felt great pride in his part in settling the Galactic Chaos.

Over the next eight years of active service, Brek continued to be a model soldier. He played his role in outing rebel cells, routing pirates, shutting down smuggling rings and the like, but slowly, strange signs began to appear in his missions. All too often, it seemed as though many of the operations his Corps was dealing with didn't further the unity and peace, but rather promoted basic oppression. All too often it seemed that innocents were being arrested and disappearing, or simply outright killed. He seemed to be promoting fear, not peace.

With the destruction of the Death Star, the situation only got worse as the Imperial Army was ever more watchful of possible Rebel sects. This led, more and more often to morally questionable missions, and the loss of innocent lives and infrastructure. Where was the Empire he'd enlisted to protect? Where was the prosperity, the unity, the ORDER? The Empire was becoming its own instrument of chaos.

Unable to keep his silence about the disorder and growing corruption of the Empire, Brek instead chose to leave the machine, to disappear and find himself and what his life has meant. Following a mission on Antar 4 in which two entire villages were destroyed for supposedly harbouring rebels (of which Brek saw no proof), Brek became a "casualty" of the exercise and disappeared into the forests. Through a series of purchased transports and identities, Brek made his way out of the populated centers, to find himself on Thractin, where he settled down as far from the Empire as he thought he could get.

He got by as he could, taking jobs here and there as a bodyguard, fighting for money, etc., modifying his Scout armour; changing it to a dull, mottled olive green, and taking on new dents... no longer did it gleam Imperial white.

Appearance: Her principal characteristic is the single streak of white hair that covers the front of her brown hair. Rogue is a very attractive woman who knows how to use her charms when needed. She usually wears a form-fitting thinsuit though she's been known to dress for the occasion.

Personality: More of a Jack-of-all-trade than a specialist, Rogue is a compulsive thief. She's also quite stubborn, if she wants something a no won't do. She uses all her skills at best to achieve her deeds. She'd rather use stealth and seduction than direct confrontation though. Years spent in the streets of Port Town made her suspicious of people. Getting her trust is hard. Trusting her is another matter...

Background: Malicia gathers her gear. The Captain has a new assignment for her. She chucks her few belongings in a leather bag. She suddenly stops on the image caster she's now holding. She presses a small button and a holographic display comes to life. A series of holopictures appears, one after another. It's been a while since she has last looked at them. It brings back so much memory.
The first picture to be displayed represents her dad and her mom with a baby in her arms. She reckons she was only a couple months old when the picture was taken. She also reckons her mom was a very beautiful woman, no wonder her dad fell for her. She lived with her on Cloud City, Bespin's floating capital city. From her father she has very few memories. He was a starfighter pilot. He rarely came home, for ‘family safety’ Malicia's been told. Malicia wasn't even 5 year-old when she was told her dad would never return, being now one with the Force. It took a while for Malicia to overcome the sadness and missing presence of her dad, but he has also been his imaginary hero, as she invented stories of his deeds, fighting evil somewhere in the galaxy.
The holo flicks to another picture. For a short moment Malicia wonders why she has that picture. The man on it is her step dad. Her mom remarried indeed a few years after the death of her real father. But Malicia never got along with this new father. The fights at home led her to the streets of Port Town, a disreputable part of Cloud City. She became a delinquent, then a reputable thief, and courier for Sawthawne, the Lutrillian Crime Boss of Port Town. And the beginning of her worries, she recalls.
When an ISD Captain and Sawthawne made a sour deal, Malicia should have not only known better not to sneak out and spy on them, but also should have known better but to get caught! From this moment on she knew her life was in jeopardy. The Empire wanted her dead, and the Crime Lord wanted her back.
Malicia quickly flicks the image caster to display another holography, trying to put these painful memories away. The group of people that the holo represents has been her family ever since she left Bespin, well 'flee' from Bespin would be more adequate. They have accepted her despite her inexperience, her hard-to-live-with character, and compulsive tendency to steal things. They have been the only people she can somehow trust, as they've risked their life several time for her, to escape the people on her trail. They are also the ones that gave her her "callsign": Rogue. She has come to actually start liking the name, seing how it fit her life.
Malicia shuts of the image caster and places it in her pocket. They have been stranded on Thractin for some time now, It feels like an eternity. But Rogue feels like no one would ever come look for her on this remote world. It is far from a safe world, rather a hive of scum and vilainy, but Malicia feels at ease here.
She suddently feels something inside the pocket she just placed the image caster in. Her eyes grow bigger and pull out the ID card of the Captain. Darn! She's gonna be in trouble again...

Physical Description: Slight muscular build and a boyish face which makes it easy to fool others into believing that he’s naïve. Always wears flashy clothes, but tends to favor a mix of red and purple. Sports an attractive ring given to him by his father (long dead) which has little to no value, but has an immeasurable worth in sentimental terms.

Personality: Hov, as he likes to be called, is slick and all flash. He loves to be the center of attention when he's not pulling a sneaky trick at the gaming table. Not that he likes to cheat, but he just keeps his back covered. Think of him as a cross between Wild Bill Hickock and Doc Holliday...with a blaster. He's easy to get along with and doesn't take being in a bad situation all that seriously since he's always gotten out of them before.

Background: A fool and his money are soon parted...and I am certainly more than willing to aid the process. After having fleeced most of the whales in my previous port-of-call I wanted to score that "big win" in a major game. I almost did it too, but when someone who is used to having power chooses to play a game of equal parts luck and skill comes up short then egoes get bruised and so does the winning gambler. And when that losing individual is an Emperial higher-up, the bruises tend to be more substantial. Fortunately I prepare for these sorts of things and a five minute trip to the can turns into a really quick getaway through a bathroom window. Of course some of my winnings wound up staying on the table, but that's why you have to learn to pocket the larger credits slowly throughout the game. What I got away with wasn't enough to go buying a palace for some lucky gal, but it provided me with enough to live off of comfortably for a decent stretch, hopefully in some place out the way. Luckily through the grapevine I just happened to have heard of such a place: Thracin; or more specifically, Telan. A place where the Empire has no pull sounds alright to me, although the transportation to such a locale is usually expensive. Well that eats up about 90% of my savings. So much for a "decent stretch." Time to find my way to the Casino and a game...

Description: Drunen is normally a relatively tall duros with dark brownish-green skin. He is dressed in his rebel pilot uniform (which is now well tattered and scorched).

Wounds: Starts adventure wounded twice. (assuming you are using that modified rule, otherwise just wounded)

Equipment: Padded Flight Suit, Helmet w/ military comlink (damaged in ejection), 2 Med-Aid packs (p.58 ), Pilot survival vest (includes personal strobe locator p.71, 2 dehydrated food packs p.72, water purifying canteen p.72, BlasTech DL-6H, 5 ammo packs, 50 credits), Starship repair kit, empty expended X-wing Ejection Seat (sweet, 200 lbs of useless scrap metal!)

Background: Born and raises on the major space station orbiting Duro, Drunen grew up in military family. His father was a high ranking planetary defense force artillery officer. He had seen how his father took pride in his work and how he seemed to like doing something important. Drunen was not expected to go into the service and really was only mildly interested in it in the first place. Instead, he began attending a tech school to learn starship repair since he had always been technically adept. He was very much enjoying himself in school, when the first fleet of Star Destroyers arrived in orbit around the planet. He was in class when he heard the first booming clap of the station ion cannons firing. The entire class rushed out to watch the counter attack. After a few moments of firing he could see the huge blasts coming from the star destroyers and systematically the ion cannons were being disabled. He rushed home to find several defense force troops there sent by his father to evacuate him and his mother. They were quickly boarded onto transports and barely escaped into hyperspace from the other side of the planet.
It didn’t take him long after he left the system to find out that the empire had executed the higher ranking officers on the station after its capture and they had been interrogated. He is not sure if his father was one of them but he has not heard from him since. That was 8 years ago. Since then he has grown up significantly. He moved around a few times in the Corellian Sector doing mostly starship maintenance and repair, until he found a more permanent job with a “transport company” hauling goods behind the Empires back. He was their chief mechanic and was doing very well. He would travel on the transports quite often to ensure they were always ready. He began finding himself more and more in contact with rebels on the shipments runs he would take. He began conversing with them and learning more about the ships operations.
A shipment from his transport company was caught and the company was quickly disbanded as much of the leadership dispersed to avoid being caught by the Empire. With no other place to go Drunen got in touch with a small group of rebels a few systems from his home. He found that they were quite eager to recruit him with his talents and previous experience. They quickly shipped him to a major recon base and set him to work repairing the fighters they had stationed there. It was after about a year and a lot of pushing from his supervisors that he finally was granted permission to begin pilot training. As with all things in an under funded secret organization, training was brief and left a lot to be learned. He was soon back with his recon squadron flying missions regularly as well as being forced to repair and do maintenance on them due to the undermanning at the base. He found himself burning the candle at both ends flying during the day and working through the night on repairs. He finally got a break after a mission where he was jumping in to survey a small Imperial fleet that had jumped into the Dantooine system. Upon arrival he and his flight lead found themselves at the outer sensor ranges of one of the biggest fleets anyone had ever laid their eyes on. A huge invasion force was being consolidated, and this was not to take a planet the fleet was big enough to take a system very quickly. They scanned as much data as they could before beating feet back to the base. After notification of this fleet, the rebels were able to determine what they had been planning. The recon squadron was praised for their work in hunting down this fleet and the ensuing battle was a major victory for the alliance as they destroyed a star destroyer and several other capital ships with only minimal losses. However, with a fleet that large the system slowly fell to the Empire but not after a significant blow to the fleet.
Drunen’s squadron was expeditiously upgraded to newer X-wing fighters, the alliances newest. After several more years of flying and several promotions he was promoted to the squadron commander. By this time, he had seen combat many times and was one of the most experienced X-wing pilots in the Rebel fleet. But as always he tended to bite off a little more than he could chew.
He found himself flying more and more missions and one particular one brought him to chasing a Star destroyer again. His squadron had detected it months ago and was continually following it and harassing its fighters whenever they could. This time, however, the intel was a little less accurate than usual. The jump brought them out of hyperspace right next to the mammoth of a ship. They quickly began to react and try to get themselves out of the mess they were in. The star destroyer having only 2 enemy ships to worry about unleashed an unbelievable barrage of fire down on them. His wingman was destroyed before he could even turn his shields on and Drunen was hit not much after. He was able to maneuver for long enough to make a randomly entered astrogation leg and jump away after being hit several times. When his short jump ended he was in a very wide orbit of a planet he had never seen before. His X-Wing was limping along and the life support systems would hold up much longer. He headed straight for the planet. As the crippled fighter reentered the atmosphere and approached the ground he managed to bail out in time to ride his parachute down to the shallow waters off the coast of a major land mass on a planet he had never even heard of, Thractin. With little knowledge of the planet and a pretty good idea that the Imperials would be looking for him, Drunen will set out to find himself some help back out of here and to the Rebel Alliance anyway he could. Hopefully someone (on his side) will come looking for him but until then he is on his own with nothing but his survival pack and vest and partially burnt up ejection seat. His aircraft is completely destroyed with no hope of repair.
He has found his way to Telan but has not contacts or known friends here and is unsure of the culture or Imperial presence (or lack there of).

Appearance: Damor keeps in top shape, toning his body mass into sculpted Ithorian muscle. A scar runs down the flattened back part of his head.

Damor Moog and his mate, Drinna, traveled on a herd ship selling and trading their arts and crafts. On one fateful planetary visit, Damor was awaiting Drinna’s return to the herd ship after a day of trading--he had gone ahead to the ship and left Drinna and their small party behind to finish packing their goods. Time passed and Drinna and the rest did not return…so Damor came back out to their camp site to find them dead and their goods stolen. Locals who had witnessed the crime claimed a group of Rodians were responsible; the only evidence left behind was a blaster pistol. Damor now carries the Rodian’s pistol as a constant reminder of his mate’s tragedy. Once a pacifist, he has become an expert in its use. Once a peaceful artist, Damor now travels the galaxy aboard his vessel The Vagrant, trying to learn more about other races and criminal organizations, working as a freelance vigilante.

Has an intense hatred of organized crime; determined; self-righteous. He is working on balancing his quest for justice with a sense of beauty and peace.

Personality: A cocky kid, too smart for his own good, with a rather compulsive nature.

Background: Born to a poor family on the Jubilee Wheel above Ord Mantell, Rolu was orphaned at a very young age. He was then taken on by “Techie” Lan Gimring, and taught various skills to assist around the shop. Techie cam to view Rolu as the son he never had, and Rolu cam to love Lan like a father. But, as all with all teenagers, Rolu longed for a life of adventure, and at the age of 17, he signed on with the crew of the Starship “Bounty of Plenty”. He flew with them for several months, improving his skills, and picking up R2-L8 along the way. Then, on a simple supply drop to a little known world called Thractin, the captain got drunk and gambled away his ship, along with all the back pay for the crew. For the past 3 months Rolu, has eked out a slightly less then “legal” living, assisting people with different “problems”.
