The few I have built are to scale with the WotC and paper miniatures on the same site. Be caseful though, the Character Scale models and the Fighter Scale/Fleet Battles scale models are VERY different. Unless you are getting into the Starship Battles game, you'll only want the Character Scale stuff.

I can't stress enough how much I really do appreciate your help Guardian, and your advice. It is great, thank you a lot! Very Happy

Yea, that was my plan with the vehicles, where the characters I was going to use paper. Though storage is something I am concerned about. As they will still be delicate.

I contacted momiq, and he was actually a really cool guy btw. Asked him for advice on how he makes the stuff, etc.

I just got hold of 10 WEG Zero-g troopers for £1.50 each but as I normally use the pre-paints the Zer-g's look tiny so they are now going to be a prototype Imperial wardroid...

I am a big fan of the WotC plastic minis too. The problem I always ran into was that the ships game was so short lived that there wasn't much in the way of variety or quantity available. For ships I went with a little craftier version of the paper minis. If you have a couple of hours some afternoon and $20-$30 or so to blow you can make some nice permanent tokens instead. I went to a Michael's craft store and picked up a few things.

First of all, they sell bags of nice wooden tokens in a variety of sizes (1", 2", etc) that are relatively expensive. You can get 6 1" or 2 2" for a few dollars. Alternatively, they have these big bags of cheaper quality (but perfectly fine for these purposes) wooden tokens that have letters on one side and a little adhesive circle on the back. The nice thing is that they are roughly 1 inch diameter and so fit nicely on most battle mats. Anyway, I just use a pocket knife and scrape off the little adhesive on the backside and make the letter side the bottom.

For the faces of the tokens, just print off a sheet with any 1" pictures you like. Buy sheets of the big mailing labels and print your pics so that they are essentially stickers. Michael's (or wherever, that's just what I had available) sells 1" paper punches. I sort of laminated these by cutting them into strips and covering them with the wide clear packing tape before using the punch to punch them out. Then just stick your tape-protected pics to those tokens.

They also sell 2" punches for large creatures/vehicles. I had a big "season finale" game with my Star Wars group before I moved last summer where the characters ended up doing their thing against the backdrop of the Battle of Endor. I made sooo many tokens for that.

I forgot to mention it, but there's a great little tool called TokenTool in the downloads section over at rptools.net that is super helpful for making tokens. It has a bunch of pre-loaded borders and all you have to do is drag and drop a picture file into it then you can easily resize it and give it any of the borders/colors you want. Handy for indicating faction, size, etc.

Thanks, I bookmarked the site for when I have a little more time. It looks like a site that both myself and a few of my fellow GMs will enjoy!

Apparently someone is selling a BUNCH of WEG minis on ebay.

It ends in three hours though. Just thought I'd post it if someone was interested.

It looks like there are actually three lots of listings. First group ends in about 3 hours, second group ends tomorrow, and the third lot ends in about three days.

Looks like there is a great assortment of generic models, lots of Rebels & Imperials for anyone who is interested in building up a decent number of models.
