"Blast! Hit ugly again!" Garolf shouts. He then aims for the warrior's head.

(OOC: Same target as hit. Two rounds. Take one to aim and the next to shoot. Blaster: blaster rifle 6D+1, imp repeater on secondary mode at 5D+2, 2-20/50/250. Not commanding this time, hoping Jo and the two defenders will fire on the guy and at least stagger him in Garolf's aiming round)

Zinn stands up, shaking his head to clear any debris from his face as he sights in on another Vong. When he has one, he shouts the location to Orrallyn so they can combine fire again.

Zinn and Orrallynn aim at the charging target before they get within melee range. Gand's shot goes wide but Zinn findes its target. Unfortunately the warriors thick armor absorbs the hit.

Rownn fiercely grabs the closest warrior throwing him into his compatriot with a howl. It does not cause any damage to either warrior, but causes them to spend some time dis-entangling. As a reward for his efforts Rownn takes a pair of blows, one he absorbs and another he grunts in pain as it connects to his rib break one or two.

Garolf Aim's at the charging warriors but misjudges their distance as they close within melee range. He sees a perfectly aimed thrust with a spear coming for his heart so he gives up his sight and uses the stalk of his rifle to turn the blow away, having it pass no where near him.

Jo and company fire a trio of shots into that charging Vong, but its thick armor holds the blast back once again.

The Seargant yells "Check your lines of fire, we have friendlies. Form a firing line!" and the troopers act with trained precision the leading edge kneeling down to allow those behind a line of fire. Two warriors go down, two more stumble toward the New Republic troops. One warrior manages to turn away a pair of blows from the stunned Vong. The other two are not so lucky. One is slain before he even has a chance to stand up as the spear is thrown before the warrior makes the last few paces to pull it free. The final one gets a pair of wounds as he narrowly doges a duet of spear thrusts.

Zinn fares the worst out of the PCs, having 3 warriors charge him. He is unable to raise his defenses in time as he is pierced by three staves as the warriors jump over the barrier.

(Hit 1: 0 cp = incapacitated, 2 cps = nothing, 1cp = wound.
Hit 2: 0cp = dead, 1cp=Mort Wound, 2cp=Incap, 3cp=Wound, 4cp = Wound, 5cp = Stun
Hit 3: 0cp = dead, 1cp = dead, 2cp = mort wound, 3cp = incap, 4cp = wound, 5cp=nothing)

(Assuming Bindo is trooper 9 as that is the closest to where I posted he was going)

Knowing he cannot fire at the Vong attacking his comrades and unwilling to waste the setup he has Bindo does the next best thing.

"Wookiee get down!" He bellows before he opens up on the Vong attacking Rownn

OOC: Burst mode in an arc at the Vong attacking Rownn, chest high so that it should miss anyone who ducks.

Garolf drops his Imp repeater as he draws out his vibrodagger and ferouciously slashes at the warrior's throat, putting all his strength behind the blow in the hopes of at least wounding them enough to render them unconcious.

(OOC: Melee combat 5D, vibrodagger (STR+2D), STR 4D, 3CP for MAPs and to increase odds of success. Not sure without looking if CP can be added for damage, not gonna bother adding to damage roll)

ooc: I am assuming you are going for a called shot to avoid the armor / hit the neck?

Seeing Zinn take three spear thrusts right in front of him, Orrallynn drops his blaster and dives at the middle Vong, arms outspread trying to get the other two in his tackle as well.

ooc: trying to tackle all three Vong 1,6 & 10. If need be cps for success.

Zinn's face falls as not only does his shot fail to do any damage to the onrushing Vong warrior, but three of them vault over his cover. He feels an upwelling of...something...as the attacks- which he knows any one of them could, or should have, taken him out- fail to do more than stun him a bit. He wonders if it might not be his latent Force ability rising up, unbidden, to aid him in dire need.

((OOC: Can't believe I'm having to spend 12 CPs to stay in the action...but here goes.))

Rownn grunts under the force of the blows; he'd barely made it through that assault, and barely slowed the enemy.
Conflicting thoughts race through his mind concerning pragmatism, detachment, duty and honour... in a moment of non-Wookiee resolve, his mind snaps to the fact that if he dies here and now, the civilians he's protecting will likely die, and the mission to take this staging planet will be a failure, leading to greater galactic suffering at the hands of these alien invaders... he has to live, at least a little longer, and the only way to do that now is to throw aside his pride.


Rownn takes a side-step back and drops his big furry paw to his satchel, feeling the cylinder strapped within its flap and withdraws his lightsaber, allowing the Force to flow through him once again, thumbs the ignition trigger, bringing the aquamarine blade to life, ready to parry the next incoming attacks.

OOC - 1/2 move 36,6, draw, activate LSC and parry

Bindo fires a burst from his formidable weapon, blinding deadly energy goes spraying toward the warriors ganging up on the Wookie. Much to his dismay, but too late for him to adjust, the Wookie does not dodge down as ordered but instead draws a lightsaber and parries every bolt that was going to hit him much to the soldier's surprise. His rain of terror manages to wounds one warrior and stuns another. One dodges, rest absorb. He manages to just barely keep the weapon under control for another round of firing.

The vong come in hard at Rownn as he backs away and he looses his footing slightly making an opening, but digging deep within his Wookie stubbornness and parries all 5 attacks.

Garof lashes out with his vibroblade with deadly effeciency, opening up the warriors jugular causing him to fall to the ground spreying blood all over Garolf. It seems these warrior's neck's are just as vulnerable as every other species.

Zinn just barley sees the attacks coming and drops to the ground, all three just barley grazing him, but all piercing his clothing as Orrallynn jumps over him and tackles all 3 warriors to the ground, tripping them and forcing them back over the barrier. Unfortunately, he gets pummeled for his efforts making him see the stars of his home planet

Jo and the two remaining defenders have some hope as they fire at the Vong closest to them, unfortunately Orrallyn's maneuver caused their shots to miss horribly. The shield in between them did not help their case either.

The New Republic troops send off another volley of deadly energy at the Yuuzhan Vong that are directly in front of them, managing to kill one and graze two more, but they keep coming. Fortunately the two troopers in the front are nimble enough to avoid more then a few scrapes in return for their efforts.


2-1 Map

ooc: you can spend 1 cp per stun to negate it Orgalth.
ooc2: Rownn spent 5 CPs
ooc3: Garolf spent 2 CPs, got 17 on your second WD

ooc4: the way I am going to do bonus damage for called shots is a 1:1 ratio. that is halved if you have to avoid armor. So garolf got a -4D (neck) on his targeting - but a +2d damage. FYI for those thinking of calling shots for more damage. Not that these guys are easy to hit mind you.

If a Wookiee could sweat, chances are there'd be beads of it rolling down Rownn's face... he's still here, but it's not over yet! He feels the Force flowing through him, but he still can't locate these warriors within it... where are they? How are they masking themselves?

If he had time and the situation less dire, full defense would be a fine option, but it won't improve the overall battle situation; this has to end now, but it has to end smart. Being overwhelmed, Rownn paces his efforts, parrying the incoming attacks, and taking an attack when an opening is made. Recalling Dantooine, he the memory of the toughness of the Yuuzhan Vong armour, Rownn realizes he needs to attack an unprotected point; he slashes at the neck of #5.

Garolf looks down at his fallen foe for the briefest of moments, adrenaline hammering in his veins. He notes he's probably got their blood over him from that attack

"Just like getting in close with Imperial back in the old days. Someone always ends up bloody and the lucky one lives," He thinks to himself.

His attention switches to Rownn and then to Orrallyn, trying to decide who may need help more. He decides Rownn is more outnumbered, hoping Orrallyn can hold a little longer
.

"Combine fire and aim for the one in the middle!" Garolf shouts to Jo and the two defenders.

(OOC: Command 4D, target #7. Garolf's not taking part in the action beyond commanding. Hopefully we can get some attention of Rownn, and maybe crack #7's armor enough to make them go down)
