PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Gryphon is a very tall human male with broad shoulders, highly muscular build, and chiseled features. He has long, thick blue-black hair that he often wears pulled back or in a pony tail and deeply penetrating green eyes. Besides his size, Gryphon is known for the black and green robes he wears, a nod to his Corellian heritage.

BACKGROUND: Gryphon Kyrk is not a typical Jedi. Although fairly well-versed in the lore and traditions of the ancient Order, he tends to do many things on his own terms. One example is his attire; the vast majority of Jedi wear robes in shades of brown and tan. Gryphon, however, wears black and green robes, as did the Corellian Jedi of ages past.
Another example of how Gryphon differs from the majority of the Order is that he was born a Battle Master. While all Jedi learn combat with lightsabers and other weapons, there are some who truly excel at it, as though they were born with weapons in their hands. These Jedi actually have not only a natural affinity for combat, but actually tend to revel in it. A razor-fine line between the light and dark sides of the Force is where they live, for deriving too much enjoyment from battle is a sure way for a Jedi to fall right into the embrace of the dark side.

Even among Battle Masters, Gryphon stands out. He excels at every method of combat he has attempted or been taught. Amazing his instructors from a very early age, the main focus of Gryphon’s training was combat. While it has left him lacking in Force skills, it has adequately prepared him to protect himself in the field while his Master continues to teach him to understand the Force. The Masters at the Academy also focused a good bit of his study time on Jedi lore, to ensure that young Gryphon truly understood how dangerously easy was the pull of the dark side.

Unfortunately for the Jedi, the war with the Sith has been so brutal and decimating to their numbers that they have deemed it necessary to rush Padawans through their training, sending them off into the galaxy much, much sooner than they otherwise would.

Gryphon is one of these newly-minted Knights; having only been promoted a couple days ago, he has no idea what lies ahead of him and his fellow Knights.

Background:
Mishi’peshu grew up on the jungle world of Mutanda, he was the youngest son of the chief seer of his tribe. Like many Mashi Horansi, Mishi spent much of his time wandering the jungle and getting in touch with the spirits of the world. On one such outing, his ears were assailed by the great cracking sound of thunder, though not a cloud was in the sky. Curious, he followed the sound to find an epic battle between two beings, one wielding a blade of pure red light, the other wielding one of green. The one with red seemed to be able to wield the power of the heavens, as he threw lightning at the other, who seemed to either absorb it with his hand, or with his blade. The two were seemingly evenly matched, and battled on for hours, Mishi watched in silence from the shadows, unable to look away from the battle. Perhaps it was the clashing of these two titans that caused the weather to shift, and the winds began howling and clouds filled the sky. The clear night which was, was no longer, as the sky started downpour, and lightning arced across the heavens. The two barely seemed to notice, as they battled on into the night. It seemed like they would battle to the end of time, but something happened, a great bolt of lightning struck the immense tree behind the green bladed warrior, and caused the tree to begin falling toward him. His boots, slick with mud were unable to get out of the way quick enough and a branch as large as him clubbed him across his back sending him sliding against a rock and sending the handle of his blade not far from where Mishi was hiding. The red one cackled with glee and flipped over his downed opponent to gloat over his victory. He spoke of a rising darkness that couldn’t be stopped, and the galaxy burning as a new order rose to enslave the galaxy. Mishi had to act, he crept out from his hiding spot and took the hilt of the god who’d been battling; Mishi was unable to understand how it worked, so instead he cast it over to its master who lay at the mercy of the evil one. The warrior of green light noticed the hilt, and stretched out his hand to it. The blade, wanting to return to its master, flew to his hand and once again he wielded the power of the sun. His opponent was too overconfident, and was cloven in two without even being able to raise his defenses.
The remaining warrior was badly injured, and could scarcely stand. So Mishi gathered him up and took him home to his village where his healers could see to the strange man’s wounds. His healers said that the damage was bad, and he would not last the next day. To everyone’s surprise, the warrior not only survived, but was able to walk after only a night’s sleep. The warrior stayed in the village for a few days while his wounds fully healed, and he explained that he was a Jedi charged with hunting down the evils of the dark side wherever they may lurk. He sensed this power, which he called the force, within Mishi’peshu and as a token of his gratitude, offered to take Mishi and train him in the ways of the Jedi. Mishi’s father, the seer confirmed that he’d always sensed that his son’s destiny would be in the heavens, though they didn’t understand how, since he did not see the death of his son.
The Jedi took Mishi away on his star ship and began training him in the ways of the force, and of how to defend himself. Mishi also learned the tales of the Jedi, and their code. Even though he’s only been away from home about a year, Mishi’s skills are growing fast, and he is eager to learn more about the galaxy and the Jedi.
Personality:
Mishi’peshu comes from humble beginnings, and though he is curious about the galaxy that unfolds before him, he is also somewhat distrusting of new people. His master has been grooming him to become a Shadow of the order himself, and Mishi has taken to that very well. He is fiercely loyal to his master, and anyone who has proven themselves as beings of light, though he is ever watchful of them, because the darkness lurks ever present on the edge of the light.

Objectives:
Complete his initiation into the Shadows. Seek out evil doers and bring them to whatever justice the force sees fit.

A Quote:
“My master says: ‘You never know where the dark side may be at work, so you much search everywhere, even in those places that seem bright with the light side.’ So that is what I shall do.”

Revv is a Jedi knight who has often felt out of place in this time of war. From early on, Revv has seen the role of the Jedi as keepers of the peace, rather than as leaders in battle. Revv prides himself on finding peaceful solutions to conflict and believes there is always a chance to find a peaceful resolution. These thoughts have often left Revv a bit on the outside, as his peers and teachers have led the charge into battle. Picking up on his tendencies, his Master steered him into diplomacy and conflict negotiation. Revv is patient and calm, almost annoyingly so to others.

All of that being said, Revv can handle a lightsaber, though he has focused his training on defensive combat and parrying the attacks of others. Revv is rarely the aggressor and willl focus his energy on bringing an end to conlfict without unnecessary loss of life.

Revv is actually not the first Skolnar to be a jedi. His grandfather Attar achieved the rank of Master before being expelled from ther order. Revv has always been told it was over a relationship with another jedi, whom Attar later married; but Revv has always suspected there was more to the story. In any case, Revv has never met his grandfather and isn't even sure if he is still alive.

Physical Description:
Garren is a strapping young man who appears to be in his late teens or early twenties. He has dusty blonde hair, brownish green eyes, and a bit of a stubble beard growing in. He dressed in an off-white shirt, brown vest, medium brown pants, dark leather boots, and a brown leather duster. Around his waist is a gunfighter’s belt with a pair of low hung holsters for his pistols.

Background:
From a young age, Garren has been flying through the stars, apprehending criminals with his father; his mother died when he was very young, his father did the best he could raising a boy in a tough and rumble world. One such criminal tried to flee from their home system and hide out on Tatooine. It took a few years to finally track the man down, but they did. Garren and his father chased the man from a small hideout outside of Anchorhead, through the rocky canyons, and across the dune sea. The criminal finally ran and hid inside a cave in the edge of the dune sea, which was home to a clan of Tusken Raiders. The tribe saw the trespassing on their land as an attack and swarmed to kill the boy and his father. Between the two of them, they managed to hold them off long enough to see the man they were after sneaking out into another passage. They continued the chase, with a gaggle of angry warriors close behind them. As they returned to their speeders, the Raiders took shots with their rifles and wounded Garren’s father. The wound wasn’t fatal; however when they finally did manage to confront their mark, the gunshot wound from the Tusken’s rifle was enough to slow down Garren’s father in their duel. The criminal shot and killed Garren’s father, then took his pistol as a trophy. Garren tried to stop the criminal from escaping, but was so emotional that his bullets sailed wide. Eventually, he ran out of ammo. His father’s murderer then destroyed the speeder that Garren and his father had been using to chase him down, and left the boy to die in the Dune Sea. It took the better part of a month on foot for Garren to return to Anchorhead, only to find that his father’s ship had been stolen by the criminal as well. So he did what anyone would do, he got a job and worked to survive.

He eventually fell into working as a pilot for a smuggling crew whose pilot was shot in a disagreement in the local liquoring hole. He continued running with them, gallivanting about the galaxy, making a bit of cash here and there. Eventually, the crew’s illegal cargo crossed paths with Nars Teepo, who made it his personal quest to shut them down. When Garren found out that the crew was transporting slaves and spice, he threw in his lot with Teepo. In the ensuing battle, Garren shot and killed several of his old shipmates. When the smoke cleared, only he and Teepo were left standing. The Jedi was most impressed with how he handled himself, and more impressed with the boy’s strength in the force.

Teepo took him on as his personal pilot; and the two continued to fly around the galaxy while becoming good friends. Eventually, Nars Teepo began confiding in Garren about his dissatisfaction with stagnate beliefs of the Jedi. Garren, coming from a world of gunslingers and such convinced him that to properly catch criminals, you must be skilled in their tools & trade. He started teaching Teepo what little his father had taught him before he died about quick drawing and Teepo took it further, enhancing it with the force and learning to use his senses with pistols. When finally the war on Rusaan broke out, Teepo answered the call, but Garren had his own fight to have. Teepo told him that he could bring his father's killer to justice by learning the ways of the force. So Garren was dropped off at the Jedi Temple and given over to them to be trained, though Teepo had already taken the time to share a few tidbits of knowledge with him.

Personality:
An atypical Jedi, Garren has tried to keep his sense of humor, even with everything that’s happened, although he’s never forgotten why he’s here, and will pursue that goal to its end. Cool and level headed, he tends to think things through before making decisions.

Objectives:
Bring his dad’s killer to justice, get back his pistol.

This power can be kept “up.”
Note: This power is exclusively taught by Teepo Paladins and will only be taught to students who reject the use of sabers (and other “light” weapons).

Effect: This power is used to make a blaster more effective and efficient. A Jedi (usually a Teepo Paladin) uses this power to control slight hand movements and to sense the movement of his/her target. It is basically the Teepo version of lightsaber combat and grants the following bonuses:
Add Sense to Blaster Skill to strike.

If the Jedi uses a partial dodge he/she may add as many control and/or sense dice to the dodge. These dice, however, can only be used once. If they are used to increase "to hit" chances they can not be used to dodge as well. Therefore every round a Teepo has a dice pool to use in changing his abilities in combat. This power can be used if the Jedi is performing a full dodge as well. The power has to be brought up first however.
Since a blaster can not deflect a blaster, the Teepo Jedi have no form of parry, but the dodge bonuses should create a balance.

If the Teepo makes his Sense roll by 15 he automatically acts first in that round and only that round. This is above and beyond normal initiative. It is also not considered an unprovoked act. The Jedi senses the intent and action of the opponent before the opponent can act. The Teepo Jedi must make his control roll at Difficult level if he/she wishes to use two blasters in combat at once (See Tricks of the Trade in the Teepo section).

Add 1D of Damage for every 5 points a Strike succeeds by (through using Sense the Teepo is able to locate and exploit structural weaknesses in their targets).

Background: Zela is named after the Zelosian’s favorite star. The star is visible most of the Zelosian year during the day which is why Zelosian’s love it. However, as Zelosian’s rarely venture out at night this is also one of the few stars Zelosians ever see. One would think being named after this star would be a positive thing; however Zela was born on a moonless night. In nearly 100 years she had been the only child born on a moonless night and to make matters worse, her older sibling, for reasons unknown had mysteriously vanished the night she was born. Her mother, desperate to counteract the inherit bad-luck of being born at night, named her daughter Zela after the favored star both because the star was considered lucky and because it was one of the rare nights that the star was visible. Wishing to spare their daughter any further bad-luck Zela was trained at a very young age to see the signs of bad-luck everywhere and was taught how to protect herself. She became quite adept at avoiding situations, words or actions that would make her unlucky and became proficient at creating charms to boost her good luck. Yet, despite these charms and teachings, she was viewed by her people as someone who inherently carried within her a source of bad-luck. Her mother had other children, all born on the luckiest of days, yet Zela’s birth was a dark shadow surrounding them all. Her parents loved her and Zela knew that, yet she felt the burden her family carried because of her.
When her youngest brother became very ill, Zela was naturally blamed by the community. Desperate to somehow remove the taint of her bad-luck from her brother, as she herself was convinced she was the cause of his illness, Zela unknowingly reached out with the force and aided him in recovering from his illness. At that very moment, what Zela has since considered to be her one moment of true good luck, occurred. A traveling Jedi, who had come out of hyperspace above the planet due to technical issues with his ship, sensed the young Zelosian. Curious he traveled down to the planet and was able to locate her. When the old Knight approached Zela and told her about the force and how Jedi strove to learn the light-side and how she could come with him and learn how to use this ability, Zela translated the information as one thing only, a solution to her family’s plight. She could safely leave her planet and tell people she was learning to use something involving light. She had the opportunity to remove her bad-luck from her family. Before the old Jedi had finished his speech, something he’d spoken on many occasions to convince young force-sensitive’s or their parents that becoming a Jedi was the best choice, Zela had interrupted him and said she would go. The very next day her family said their goodbyes and her mother cried, but she could see the relief in their eyes. Zela knew she would never return home.

Personality: Happy and Cheerful during the day. In especially bright sunlight she would be described as “bubbly.” Occasionally a little paranoid and superstitious, but usually manages to pull off her superstitious warnings with a smile and make her paranoia seem likable rather than crazy during the day. At night she’s withdrawn, never mean but almost a different person from her daylight self.

Objectives: To learn to be a better Jedi and somehow wipe out her “badluck.”

Physical Description: humanoid with tattooed skin, angular features with numerous piercings of the nose, mouth and ears, large eyes and feathered hair adorned with beads and baubels. Whilst he appears a proportionate height/build the Lafrarian have hollow bones and are surprisingly frail, Silerian is actually considered quite robust among his kind and appears muscular but is actually no stronger than an average human and no heavier than a small teenager.

Background:
Silerian comes from a terrestrial world called Lafra, just outside the borders of the Corporate Sector in the Wyl Sector, off the Hydian Way. His planet supplies superbly modified airspeeders and atmospheric craft, along with talented pilots of all kinds. Descended from birds of prey the Lafrarians have remarkable mechanical aptitude for all forms of artificial flight, particularly favouring combat airspeeders and starfighters where available.

Silerian himself was identified as Force sensitive and accepted to Jedi training at the Miraluka Academy on Alpheridies before being transferred to the greater enclaves in preparation for the war against the Sith empire. Trained as a combat Jedi and naturally obsessed with piloting he travels with both lightsabre and starfighter gear.

Objectives:
To own a decent starfighter with hyperdrive capability and to serve the Jedi enclaves under guidence of the Council. {OOC got my eye on a Pheonix-Hawk Pinnace which should suit the era and beautifully suits an adventuring Jedi, with cargo and passenger capability and uses starfighter piloting skill}

Dispatched by the Jedi Council to join Republic forces embattled with the Sith, aboard the starship Maverick.

BACKGROUND:
Raised and trained in the Jedi Ways by her mother in a bacwater world after the dead of his father fighting against a Sith Lord. The sipirt of that Sith Lord endured and eventually killed her mother and tried to control her. She destroyed, or at least she believe that, with his father's lightsaber and went to the Jedi Academy to end her training.

Background:
Oryn was born on Bothawui. He was talented with technical devices, but was forced to join the military by his father, who was also a member and officer of the military. Once he got old enough and served his time in the military,
he quit, because he only joined them because of his father to begin with. Although he was also trained and used as an engineer in the military, it was only basic stuff they taught him. So now, that he could do whatever he wanted,
he went on to follow his call and become a full fledged engineer. He tried a bit of everything, as he enjoyed doing all kinds of repairs and programming, and even learnt alot about first aid, since, in his opinion, healing people
was similiar to repairing broken machines.
Years later, he heard of his fathers death in the war. Although he left his home soon and was not very friendly with his father, he always respected him and his ideals.
So after his funeral, Oryn decided to fight against the enemies of the republic, like his father did.

Objective:
Fight against the people responsible for his fathers death.
