Not really cause where as before you needed just 1-2 hits, this way you might need 4-5, the first 3 to batter down the shields THEN 1-2 to disable the ship. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

You're forgetting the Cover damage rules. If a shot does enough damage to take out the shield completely, it carries through and inflicts full damage to the ship, as well.
Besides, making ion cannon take an extra shot or two is an acceptable penalty to get rid of WEG's ridiculous "ion cannon and shields ignore each other" rule, not to mention giving them the ability to disable shields rather than simply pass right through them. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. I do have to say I prefer this to the current Ignore Shields rule. It would also explain the Lack of effectiveness of Ion cannons on planetary shields. they could use a pool of reserve shield dice like the MC80 but on a massive scale. Explaining why they were able to "Deflect any Bombardment". _________________ "Yes because killing the guy you always planned on usurping and killing anyways in order to save your own kid, totally atones for murdering a roomful of innocent trusting children."
