Working on converting the species from Dangerous Allies, using previously published material, fan conversions, wookieepedia and additional sources mae available since the original conversions. Please post and let me know what you think of the additions.

Quote:
CAAMASI

Attribute Dice: 12D
DEXTERITY 1D+2/4D
KNOWLEDGE 2D/4D+1
MECHANICAL 1D/4D
PERCEPTION 2D/4D+2
STRENGTH 1D/3D
TECHNICAL 1D/4D
Special Abilities:

-- Memnis: is an extremely vivid memory produced when experiencing jolting events or situations (witnessing the murder of a family member, meeting someone famous, the birth of a child, or another personally important event). Memnii contain emotions and physical sensations. Unlike normal memories, they do not fade in intensity over time. Memnii can be transferred to others Caamasi; this does not erase the feelings, but the Caamasi believe sharing it with others would help alleviate the pain. In most cases, memnii can only be transferred to those related within three or four generations of separation; further than that, the ability was near impossible. If a Caamasi has formed a close bond with a character who is Force Sensitive, they could transfer a memnis to them. Force-users can also share memories with Caamasi, though this requires a successful use of either Receptive Telepathy (to receive a memory) or Projective Telepathy (to share a memory).
-- Enhanced Sense (Smell): Caamasi have a highly developed olfactory senses. They receive +2 to search rolls if the search attempt is scent-based (maximum range of 20 meters).
Story Factors:
-- Reputation (Temperate): Due to their reputation for being peaceful and wise, Caamasi gain a +2 pip bonus to all Bargain and Persuasion skill checks.
-- Odor: Caamasi emit an odor other species have likened to the sharp, woody scent of Corellian whiskey. The Caamasi do not seem to notice the smell despite their finely tuned noses.
-- Pacifists: Caamasi tend to be pacifistic, urging conversation and understanding over conflict.
Move: 10/12

They look decent. Though on the Cammasi, i would think their pacificity would result in some penalties to combat skills (they can learn the reactive ones easily, but learning the offensive ones take longer/cost more), or they gain a DSP for injuring someone.

I had thought about a mechanic for this, but from the information provided not only in wookieepedia but in Desperate Allies, there is a "practical" side of their pacifism. I know, in this day and age, a description was depicted in greys with no absolutes.

And other than the hurtful Mnesis, what exactly is that "practical" limitation to their pacifism?

The descriptions specifically stated an example of working for the Alliance in a position that could hurt or kill others and justifying to themselves as necessary. So, when everything is awesome and no one is trying to kill you, you can be calm and suggest to others that, "hey lets all just get along". Yet, if an entire planetary population is enslaved by the Empire, who has a proven record of not listening, then perhaps jumping in a starfighter and blowing them Imps out of the sky is a viable option.

So basically they are pacifists only when conditions allow it?
Sounds like one of my friends.. It's easy to be a Vegan, when all you get to eat is vegetables.

More like realistic pacifists, who, while pursuing peace as an ideal result, recognize that peace is not always an option, and as a result, depending on the circumstances, must resort to restrained violence in order to prevent greater harm.

It was hinted in I, Jedi that the first Jedi sought out the Caamasi to help them establish their original moral code, if that helps clarify things...
