I don't recall that ability being described in either the SotE novel or WEG sourcebook, and I've never played the video game. As near as I can tell, that's just something that they did when they made the toy version of the Outrider, and I don't believe it's canon.
(I'm using one in my campaign as well, called the Idiot's Array.) |

Interestingly the one with the higher space speed rating is the slower of the two for its listed atmospheric move rate (not the KPH, but the meters per move). |
