I like the aneurysm thing for the OOB experience. It fits for that situation, too, because in OOBEs, that cord is what connects you to your body, if it's severed it's supposed to kill the person. What was the player hoping to accomplish, exactly?

On the first or second session of new campaign we had a first for our group. One guys was a human freighter captain and the other was a wookiee. Everyone naturally teased them for being partners (ala Han and Chewie) even as the wookiee kept threatening everyone since he barely knew the human. About halfway through the adventure the human had been knocked unconscious and we were deciding what to do. Someone mentioned the wookiee would have to carry him, which he didn't want to do since he didn't like the guy at this point. So the Wookiee slit the humans throat killing him. Not a nice thing to do, expecially for a wookiee, but the priceless part was the look on the GMs face. He couldn't believe it. He said. "I don't know where to go from there... Thats the end of the campaign." Then he got up and left.

It was all for the best though because right after that we started a new campaign which still live in infamy for our group.

I think that pretty much takes the cake....

I thought I'd done some mean things... but, man... I just can't top that.

Yea, that one was really bad. Here is a lighter one. It wasn't actually in the Star Wars RPG though. We were playing one of the other White Wolf games that takes place in modern times. I think we were based out of Seattle. At the very beginning of the adventure we drove to the airport and bought tickets to Las Vegas. We flew there and basically forced the GM to add lib something. He was a very good GM so we knew he could handle it. (everything except player murder) In the end it didn't end up well for us and to this day we all claim we have never been to Vegas. Someone mentions it just about every time we are together. "Nope, never been Vegas, no reason to go. Wouldn't think about it!"

A few members of our group were on an Imperial station and the GM said, "From your hiding spot, you see the Imperial Emissary come through the door." One of my friends goes, "I am going to attack him." The GM gives him the go ahead, but then asks if he really wants to attack him. He says that he does and rolls. It turns out that he just attack Darth Vader. Once he found out who it was, he back-peddled as fast as he could.

Man that's pretty cool. Would the average citizen know what Vader looks like?

I would say yes, the average citizen knows who Vader is and what he looks like. Much like we know who the Chief of Staff of the US is and what they look like.

You'd be surprised how many people don't know who the Cheif of Staff is nor any other cabinet members not to mention what any of them look like.

That's sad, but it doesn't surprise me. I would expect Vader to be more well known, though. Karl Rove (Deputy Chief of Staff, but in effect, the real CoS) doesn't have a cool helmet, after all.

I don't know who they are. Might be because I'm an Aussie Wink

I live in America, and I still don't know who anyone in the government is. I though Clinton was still president right up 'till the Iraq war... No, seriously.

That sounds believable. In the Star Wars universe, the Empire is so big, and controls so many planets, that there are probly plenty of people, especially on the low-tech outer-outer rim dirtball planets who've never seen or heard of Vader before. Maybe even some of the core worlds have their affluent classes of people who never watch the news and just go about their lives under the New Order exactly as they did under the Republic and have no idea who Vader is.

Though, it's a good bet that everyone in the Rebellion knows who he is and what he looks like.

So what I'm thinking is that if the average galactic Empire citizen found himself in the same room with Darth Vader they probably wouldn't know who he is exactly, but with a Stormtrooper escort they would assume he is a powerful Imperial mucky-muck. They may vaguely remember seeing him in some news holovids about the rebellion too, if they pay much attention to that news. Sort of like how a lot of people in America today don't listen to any news about Afghanistan anymore. And I think the Rebel Alliance is just as "back burner" on the average Imperial citizen's mind as the Afghanistan conflict is to most Americans right now.

Interesting thoughts... sorry for hijacking the thread with my wandering mind...

Scott

Aye, some people probably don't know they're in the empire...

O.K. check this out. I was wrapping up a truly epic run that included a massive ground battle, a dog fight, and a Jedi duel. Miraculously all the players survived(except for the guy who played the dark jedi) and had recieved their thanks from the planet's inhabitants. They were boarding the ship to leave when from the captain of the vessel(a player himself) says "This ship's not for the weak!".Seems pretty harmless I guess, but It really set off our hot tempered Abbyssin gambler(another player). The next thing I know, guns are being drawn and shots are fired. Nobody died, but it was quite the scene when the heroes of the giant battle that just took place started shooting at each other.
The Abbyssin was imprisoned indefinatly and the rest of the crew made it off the planet, but I'll never forget "This ship's not for the weak!".

In my game our squib was working for these people and wose supposed to investigate a building. So he went inside and was talking to the owner trying to apply so he could sneak around. He thought the guyw as a jerk so he left, closed the door then placed a thermal detonator outside. He left the Building just to watch the guy fly out the opposite side of his office.

One time, my party had to stop a lsaving operation on kashyyk. So they had this wookie that was a mad claw. So to get in they were going to sell the wookie. So they talked to the dug slave lord, and sold him the wookie. When they got outside, as they were closing the door, the force user used telekinises to unhook the wookies shackles. They went back inside and there was nothing left of the dug, the wookie jumped out the window but all they found was some blood and a mess.
