Yes, and... Well... Not really.

Crunch is actually lucky he fell into the Far Orbit Marine Corp. Noplace else would be likely to accept him... Or, worse yet, exploit him.

He's felt remorse only for his own side, really. When the entire "Point Squad" of the Marine Corp was ambushed by a Medium Freighter full of Strormies, he felt remorse. And, even then, not too much. Just enough to raise a glass to them. Just not part of his makeup.

After killing over a dozen of them with his bare hands... Cracked eggshell white Stormtrooper armour everywhere.

The more I think on it, the more Crunch strikes me as a Tragic Character. He's a child... A violent one, yes, but a child nonetheless. And just now is he starting to grow up and start taking responcibility...

Characters... They are our Children in a way, after all. Laughing

Crunch knows "Right From Wrong". He's just a little Fuzzy about the middle parts.

He knows it's Right to hurt people that are armed and want to hurt him and his companions. It's wrong to hurt people that are just minding their own business.

It's just that he has various degrees of "Hurt" in his mind. There's "Bend", "Fold", "Perferate", "Burn", "Obliterate", and "American Tourister". Some of those, used in series, could be considered "Cruel and Unusual Torture and Punishment".

This includes "Helocopter Spinning" an 97 Year Old Moff...

Oovavoo (the Esoomian) has a similar mentality. As far as I have been able to work out esoomians are a wantonly violent race (similar to the Abyssal cyclopses) However to justify Oovavoo's comparitive lack of violence I made him force sensitive

What seem to be coming out, to me, is that a lack of intelligence might be an acceptable explanation why violence might not be seen as evil 8)

I've always thought of it that one must be aware that what they are doing is wrong in order to be evil.

An example -An rockslide destroys a mountain village killing many people. It's a tragedy but as the rockslide was no-ones fault it in itself is not evil as there was no intent.

Now if someone caused the landslide thats where evil can come into things

But the rockslide isn't sentient or violent, it's an occurence, but the races that are ultra violent, shouldn't they be considered evil if they show no tendencies to try to better themselves in regards to their violent streak ? 8)

Think of the Abyssins. They regenerate and have developed a culture based on violence because well it doesn't actually do any long term damage to anyone. Now just because someone else doen't regenerate amd you can't comprehend that (or keep forgetting that) it doesn't make you evil. It just means that you are not well adjusted to interact with other, less hardy races

But if they perpetrate that violence on species that don't regenerate then how would you consider them then? 8)

It would depend on the hows and whys if the motivation was they have stuff that we want and we regenerate and they don't so we can take them out and grab their stuff then yes that's evil

But if slamming someone repeatedly in the face is their way of saying hello because it serves the dual purpose of working out and making sure that your friends regeneration is working properly and they say hello to a new species that they meet which doen't regenerate then it's not evil it's an unfortunate cultural misunderstanding and untill you can explain to all the abyssins that they are the only ones who regenerate then it's going to keep happening and they'll look like violent thugs and everyone will think they're evil and cruel
