I figured since so many other fanbooks had progress threads, I would start one for my current project.

The Supercommando Codex:
A Guide to Mandalorians

These first few entries will include permalinks to some of the materials I have gathered, as well as posts of some of the stats, write-ups, and research I do as I put it together. My hope is that in 4-6 months time I can assemble, layout, and finish the project.

So far my gathering of information is somewhat sparse in legible format, alot is still wookiee cut and pasted wordpad notes, but it does contain my Mando'a Zip and the Mandalorian Guide (munchkin version) zip. I will also be posting recaps of some of the important characters and clones for it, though I will focus more on their ties to Mandalorian heritage and society rather than on things already covered (as far as fluff text).

Please feel free to post any comments, questions, or concerns, also a mod is free to lock down or delete my Mando'a Primers thread as it is pointless to have the information floating right under this new thread.

Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions,
Alexis

Mandalorian Guide (munchkin fanbook way overpowered but not a bad place to start, and the thing that sparked my need for a better book)

Hopefully soon we will have a true guide to Mandalorian culture heritage and equipment.

Ok, I would first like to congratulate you on your efforts, this looks like a project that would interest quite a few. Keep up the good work and I hope you will be able to see this through to the end.

I'd like to offer what help I can give, since I have some experience in the making of fanbooks field. I don't know much about the Mandos, though.... However, if you plan to post stats for some of the clone troopers and commanders, feel free to draw inspiration, or even simply use the same stats as the ones we produced for the (always) upcoming Revenge of the Sith Sourcebook. I for one see no problem with some continuity between fan projects...

Finally, if later on you need some help on the editing of the book, that's something I always enjoy doing (if I have the free time). And just a suggestion, how about "Mandalorian Manual" for the title? Cause I for one don't know what a SuperCommando is...

The Supercommando Codex is the name of the book that Mandalorians drew their society from after the reform of their order by Jester Mereel upon becoming Mandalore in 60BBY, it was oppossed by Vizsla and the Mandalorian Deathwatch during the Mandalorian Civil Wars, True Mandalorian was used to refer to those who followed the ways Jester outlined in the Supercommando Codex, hence the name felt good for a "True Mandalorian Guide".

Deathwatch will be covered in the book as well, but Supercommando Codex for a book title felt right to me considering how important it was to Mandalorian society and its history.

heh, i think Gry was more suggesting that not many people would know that, so the title of the guide may be a bit obscure. perhaps having "Mandalorian Manual: the Supercommando Codex" as a title. this way the average person searching for info on Mandalorian information would be able to find it Smile

Hmmm, I will think on your suggestion.

Guide to Mandalorians:
The Supercommando Codex

or something similar may suffice, but overall title is the last thing I intend to worry about the title will form itself as the project progresses.

So I just wanted to update. This book is still in the works. Best part is the number of actual Mando'ad photos I will have for it. I am reaching out to the Mandalorian Mercs community to get pics of people in their customs, once photoshop finished some of these will provide amazing pics of Mando'ad in action.
