Well the first day kinda sucked, but the rest was pretty good. Got to see the Wisky, which I really wanted to do while there.

Sorry, battleship BB-64 USS Wisconsin. Wisky's one of her nicknames. Thanks to my childhood I kinda have a thing for seeing US battleships. So far I've only managed three, the two still exsisting South Dakota-class ships BB-60 USS Alabama and BB-59 USS Massachusetts (one nickname being Big Mamie) in that order. And now the Iowa-class battleship Wisconsin. Well, kinda seen four battleships now and I knew when I went to see Wisky that was gonna be the case. I'd already known from Haze Gray and Underway, DANFS, and various books I've got on battleships that Wisconsin had collided with a destroyer and had to have her bow replaced. So they used the bow of her cancelled sister ship Kentucky. Kentucky had been something like 45% completed when she was cancelled, so it was easy to get her bow since what was completed was going to end up scrapped anyway.
