Out of all the official non-force using characters out there, who was the most deadly/ lethal? The way I see it, there are five main categories for this:

Ranged Combat: Deadliest character who specializes in ranged weapons

Armed Hand to Hand Combat: Deadliest character who specializes in melee weapon combat

Unarmed Hand to Hand Combat: Deadliest character who specializes in martial arts-type combat

Starship Combat: Deadliest character behind the controls of a starship

Overall Combat: Deadliest character on average in ALL of the above forms of combat

Well, the deadliest armed melee combat character I've ever player is probably Dann Ketra, and Ex-Stormcommando. When I took over GMing, he became an NPC, and eventually went insane and tried to kill the PCs. He had like 18D+2 in knives, and carride about 100 (literally!) Storm Commando Knives, at a total of 5D DMG.

The best ranged character I've played is probably gonna have to be my least favorite, the human Trei. He was modeled after Saito, from Ghost in the Shell: SAC. He was a sniper with a load of D in blaster rifle, and had a cyber eye for extra accuracy.

I'll have to think about the rest of the formats.

Are you asking about characters we've created, or are you asking about movie/fiction characters?

Official characters... I.E.: They've appeared in the movies, books, comics, etc...

Gallandro is my vote for deadliest ranged combatant.

General Grievous looks to be the deadliest melee combatant.

Tull Raine from Wretched Hives of Scum and Villainy seems a good choice for deadliest hand to hand combatant.

Dunno about starship combatant...

Kir Kanos is my pick for overall deadliest.

I vote Wedge as well, at least when it comes to starfighter combat. If we add strategy for general starship combat, Admiral Ackbar would be a contender, as would Thrawn.

Unarmed hand to hand: Xizor.

Ranged Combat: Possibly Dengar, I recall some good sniping material from him.

Armed Hand to Hand Combat: No one in particular comes to mind.

Overall Combat: Boba Fett.

Overall: Han Solo

Starship Combat: Wedge

Ranged Combat: Boba Fett

Unarmed: Chewbacca

Armed Melee: Commander Czar

Fett and Dengar aren't anywhere near Gallandro's league when it comes to ranged combat. Comparing them to Gallandro is like comparing Obi-Wan to Palpatine.

Who is Commander Czar?

Also, where would the Useless Thongs fit in? They're supposedly fairly fearsome in battle, but I refuse to read any of the NJO books to find out.

Commander Czar was a out-of-movie character from the Clone Wars era (rise of the empire). He was published as a free WotC book on a SWRPG Forum. The book was "Rise of the Epire: Infinities" The book details what would have been if OBi 1 got whacked instead of Qui-Gon. Anyway, Czar was a CIS Commander who was trianed by Dooku (Who was a light-sider in the book) and used a lightsaber. He killed grevious with a blaster near the end of the war.

Who's Gallandro?

I forgot about Gallandro. yeah, he definitely belongs in there instead of Dengar. I stand by Fett for overall prowess though, when sense of strategy comes into play.

Gallandro is a gunslinger and mercenary from the original Han Solo novels by Brian Daley. Fett and Dengar are 'just' bounty hunters. Gallandro has progressed beyond simple bounty hunting into a place where his only real goal is finding someone who's a decent challenge. Han Solo WASN'T a decent challenge. But he thought he was, which was enough to get him on Gallandro's bad side.
