It's too hot here for me to ride much, honestly. I ride with protective gear on, and in south Georgia that equates to too much sweating for my tastes during the summer. When I move back up to NC my riding habits will change a good bit. 8)

I'm sure they will. That's why I'd love Costa Rica; temperate all year round... Wink

Just be sure to get good gear! I can't stress that enough...I hate watching squids riding around with a t-shirt, shorts, flip-flops or sneakers, and maybe a helmet (if it's required by law, varies from state to state).

You must have a ginormous cranium. I wear a large in most companies' lines of helmets (I wear an HJC), and the XXL is positively a bucket to me. You do want it to be tight, just not painful.

As for bugs and teeth...during the summer sometimes I wear the face shield up (because of the heat), with the fog shield and wraparound sunglasses. The fog shield comes up over your nose and basically makes you look a little bit like a fighter pilot in that regard. So there isn't much skin showing between that and the bottom of the shades; mostly your cheekbones and a bit of your forehead are exposed. Usually that protects your face pretty well from bugs and such, but once I got hit by a bug the size of a small rock, right in that open spot between my sunglasses and the fog shield. Didn't break the skin, but whoo boy, did it feel fun. Shocked I wouldn't want to even think about riding without my face 95% covered, just for the bugs.

That, and the face that the vast majority of initial (head) impacts in motorcycle accidents are the bottom half of the rider's face. Full-face helmets keep me and my good looks safe. 8)

Don't tell me what happens! I haven't read all of them yet. I will eventually though.
