A long time ago in a galaxy far,
far away...

The Art of the Hunt

It is a dark time for the galaxy.

Even though the Death Star has
been destroyed by the Rebel Alliance
Imperial troops are driving those with
sympathy to the Alliance from their homes,
scattering the Rebel forces from their bases
and pursuing them across the galaxy.

Seizing the chaos caused by the
Imperial troops as they search the
many systems under their control,
Organized Crime and Guilds controlled
by powerful Civilians are making a push
towards grasping control of some of these
systems, Planet by Planet.

With the ruthless methods being
used by the Rebels, Imperials and others
alike, those who can afford their own protection
are looking elsewhere, a fact that Bounty Hunters,
Independant and Guild-affiliated alike, are finding brings
more and more work their way.

Each of you have received a data-only message, requesting your presence on the planet Tros, and once there, to make your way to Section 4, and to present yourself at the entry to Salvation Tower, in a little over a Galactic Standard Day. Along with the data-message comes a redemption code for 1000 credits, which is only accessible at one of the planet's credit offices.

When you arrive on the planet, any and all Blasters and Firearms are removed from you by the customs officials. You are each issued with an electronic tag, which opens the lock-box which your weapons are sealed in, should you give them up...

Travak permitted himself a small smile, 1000 credits and over a day to spend it. It seemed that this time he was in the right place at the right time.

Allowing his suit to walk for him he cashed in the redemption code. He was tempted to spend the credit's now but if he did that would be tantamount to agreeing to whatever proposition was put forward, best see what the message was about and then spend the money.

The trip on the shuttle had been barely long enough to read the standard planetary info on Tros and to chat up to a member of the crew about arrival procedures. After receiving the data-only message, Lazlo M'ourn was sceptical about travelling to Tros, but the included redemption code for a thousand credits helped to influence his decision. Of course he was intrigued, too. As far as he knew his reputation, though growing, was not big enough to attract this kind of attention and money, yet.

Aware of the customs regulations on Tros, Lazlo made a deal with a member of the shuttle's crew. For 100 Credits, the crew member would take Lazlo's chest, in which he had placed his armor and all of his weapons save two, through the crew check-out. About an hour later they would meet in a cantina near the dock, where Lazlo would reclaim his chest and pay the crewman another 200 credits.

After the shuttle had landed, Lazlo joined the throng of passengers going through customs. When asked about weapons, he dutifully produced his stun-baton and his snap-baton, both legal to carry on Tros. As a scan showed no other weapons, he was sent on his way.

Now out of the space port, Lazlo is making his way to the cantina to reclaim his luggage.

Lazlo picks up some odd looks on his way to the "Loading Bay", the Cantina that the crewmember arranged to meet him at.

When he gets there, there's no sign of the crewmember who was supposed to be taking his crate through customs..

Lazlo takes a seat in a booth, from where he is able to watch the front door and most of the room. Leaning back, he lights one of his cigarillos and orders a drink from a serving girl, preparing himself to wait some time.

Having time to kill Travak heads back to the tiny hovel that had been serving as his home/workshop and checks his gear, making sure everything is working at 100% efficiency. Knowing he could get carried away with this he sets an alarm to tell him when he'll need to make the journey up to sector one.

Zain travels to the planet Tros, responding to the summons, via a public transport. Upon arrival he checks most of his stuff, only bringing a few things with him. He travels through the city, remaining aloof an unnoticed. He will scope out the meeting place, remaining there for a few hours after his arrival. He will then head to cash his redemption code about an hour before the meeting, and then return to wait in the shadows across the entrance way from the Salvation Tower, observing those who enter and leave.

ooc: Sneak Result - 34

Salvation Tower is a massive superstructure rising above all the surrounding structures.

Standing around 4 kilometers tall, it is the playground of the rich and nouveau-riche, encompassing both businesses, leisure facilities and residential floors, mixed seemingly at random.

Without any further information about who you're to meet, or where -Exactly- in the huge structure you're to then visit, it's hard to tell what you could be doing there.

You get set up down the side of a small eaterie opposite the main entrance where you're supposed to meet later, your shadowsuit helping you fade into the shadows with hardly a trace of your presence.

You see a wide range of races entering, but the thing that stands out the most, is that no droids enter through that portal.

OOC: If you want more information about the types of people entering, please roll me Investigation.

Glie receives his summons while on a job on the planet Thyferra. His quarry had managed to give him the slip, and had probably made it off-world several hours before. His mark was a petty criminal wanted locally, and the bounty wasn't high enough to cover the cost of persuing him off-world, so Glie decided to drop the hunt and investigate this new job.
It was a little unusual for an employer to seek him out... in fact, this was the first time. He'd only been hunting for about 4 months, no one really knew him. Taking this to mean good things for his career, he took the ego boost and booked passage to Tros. Luckily, Thyferra wasn't too far from Tros, so passage wouldn't cost too much. Packing up his belongings, he took the next shuttle available. He spent the flight imagining various fight scenarios involving the various passengers; what would happen if that fellow over there pulled a weapon... is that a vibroblade in that woman's package?? Could he backflip behind that bank of seats before the Arkonian could fire?
Upon reaching the Customs desk, Glie relinquishes his blasters; unshouldering the clunky rifle and pulling the pistol from its holster with a twirling flourish, hoping he looked more badass than he actually did... the clerk didn't seem impressed.
Feeling a little exposed without his weapons, Glie leans in forward towards the clerk as he takes his access key, "Where do I find Section 4 and Salvation Tower?"

All of the people entering, and even those passing by on the street are dressed immaculately, in what appears to be the local fashions.

Bright colours and expensive fabrics seem to be the norm, with understated tailoring seeming to indicate those with more money, rather than them being draped in expensive toys and baubles.

The most important thing that you notice, is that everyone who is entering or leaving the building, seem to pause for a moment, before stepping over the threshold, a faint shimmer being visible around them for a moment as they pause.

Zain pulls out is matte black macro binoculars, and examines the field as it appears around the people who enter, trying to identify its purpose and its source

The Clerk looks up to Glie, a spark of something in his eye.

"A newcomer, eh? I thought with the way you handled your weapons you were coming to see if you were good enough to work for the Squads."

Pausing for a moment, he reaches under the desk and withdraws what seems to be a simple datapad.

"This holds maps of Section 4 and 2, showing traveltubes as well as pedestrian access. And for the reasonable price of.. say... two hundred credits, it can be all yours."
