The TIE Interceptor is a superior starfighter, but improvements needed to be made to counter the growing threat of the New Republic. Moff Tesren and a division of Sienar Fleet Systems redesigned the TIE Interceptor to match the Rebel Alliance's past breakthroughs in starfigher design. The task of testing this new design fell to the elite TIE pilots of Omega Squadron. After many successful battles with the New Republic, this new breed of TIE Interceptor became known as "The Omega".

that's 1337! those are tied for the fastest ships (normally) in the game. What time period? (I know it's after the rebelion)
