After the center gave way, Lazlo shifts his efforts first to the right, then to the left.

ooc: strength: 2, 1, 5=10 right side
Left side: 5, 5, 4 = 16

While the center crumples under your leverage, the right and left ends of the mesh seem to be made of sturdier stuff, or are secured better, as they don't even budge under your best efforts.

ooc: is it possible to damage the middle enough to create an opening?

OOC:

The centre seems to be the weakest point in the mesh, but if you set out with the intention to damage the mesh, rather than merely manipulate it, you're also likely to damage your stun baton as well.

ooc:
That's an interesting question.

Closed, it's likely to be more sturdy, but less easy to get leverage with.
Open, it'll be easier to get leverage with, but due to the tubular nature, and the fact that you'll be putting stress on each of the joints, it'll be more susceptable to damage.

The Stun Baton is easier to get leverage with, but is more likely to have components damaged by exerting stresses on it which it's not designed for.

Spitting into his hands, Lazlo tries to lever out the left side of the barrier again.

ooc: strength roll: 2, 4, 6 = 14

As hard as you try, the left hand side doesn't want to shift, and you can see some of the fins of your stun rod are starting to bend with the pressure you're putting on them.

ooc: is it possible to use the snap baton as a fulcrum? I should be able to get a bit more leverage then.

OOC:

You're struggling for purchase now.

Using the snap baton as a fulcrum will make it harder for you to get a good grip on the mesh, but will increase your strength rolls by 2 pips.
(If anything untoward happens, it'll be more likely that your stun baton will be damaged)

Lazlo pulls out his snap-baton to use it as a fulcrum and tries his luck again on the right side mesh.

ooc: strength roll: 6, 4, 2 = 14 + wild die: 4 + 2 for fulcrum =22 total

As the mesh on the right side starts to crumple and lift, you can hear muffled voices coming from behind the doors you entered by...

Lazlo immediately stops his work and lowers the mesh slowly back to make no noise. He leaves the snap-baton under the mesh so it can't relock. THen he quickly checks his baton for damage before putting the powerpack back into it.

As you inspect the stun baton, you can see that some of the fins towards it's tip are crumpled, while others are starting to bend out of shape.

When you slip the powerpack back into it, however, it starts to charge with it's normal reassuring hum.

As you turn your eyes back to the room, you see one of the doors starting to swing inwards.

Lazlo takes a few quick and silent steps so he's behind the still closed door, waiting in ambush.

OOC: Sneak: 6, 6, 2, 4; wild die reroll:5; Total: 23
