Is it possible to customize ships and the like in different ways than normal? Like making my TIE look like it's own sort of ship? Also would painting ships also be under ship rep?

I think you'd have to come up with custom rules for that type of repair/modifications.

Like Loc said, Custom Mods = Custom Rules. I mean, we didn't pick out the Bantha Horns out of "Tramp Freighters" for the Lager. Laughing

As for painting... If it's just a generic paintjob, with minimal details, just ship it to a droid, that's what they're for.

If it's more detailing... Then it'd be an artistic Skill... Perception: Artistry: Vechicle Detailing.

Pinstripes and a Flame Job, Ur?

if it's a custom paint job it would probably be under tech skills. if you are going to change something like the shape of the ship then it's more of an advanced skill like Technical: Space Transports/Fighter Design, in which case you'd need to take hella time to learn the skill or find someone who has it.

Do you mean (A)Space Transports Engineering/(A)Star Fighter Engineering? Ragnar? Because in my opinion, you need one of the advanced skills to totally re-design a ship. But as for paint... I don't even think that really requires a roll to re-paint a ship... unless he's painting the sisteen chapel on the outside of his freighter

"That's no piece of art, that's the roof of the sisteen chapel!" - Tachyon: The Fringe. Not Star Wars, but a good quote. It's Bruce Campbell anyhow!

If it's just a simple job, then, yes, no roll... Just some credits and a few MSE Droids that Joe the Shipright will rent out. Think of it as entertainment expense, it's fun to watch the little things fly around the ship. But don't expect much, because, if you do, it'll be a bad job (Think "Flame Job with Paint Rollers" bad!).

If it's detailed like a Big Daddy Ed Roth vechicle (The creator of the infamous "Rat Fink" character), then, yes, a roll and ALOT of credits would be required (And worth it!!!).

Of course, you could just get the Star Wars Version of Indian Larry to whip up your Starfighter!!! It would be worth the Credits just to have the bragging rights!!! Maybe Crunch will get a Swoop off of him.

Well, all you'd have to do is check out the Nubian craft to see how well that works...

Although, a Mirrorhulled Skyblind...

People change the hull of their ships all the time. I mean, just look at all the different YT-1300s! Those owners only used Spacetransports repair. Now a complete change, like making it look and function like another ship, thats different.

The mirrored hull is a good idea.

How did you get a cloaking device and what ship did you put it on?

If you had a cloaking device you'd need a ship with FAT cargo space to hold it, because those things are huge... Shocked
