Always glad to help! Speaking of which, do you have a list and/or descriptions of some of the newer powers revealed in the NJO/LOTF books? I'd like to build stats for some of the characters, say Jaina Solo, but some of the Force abilities she possesses (namely Battlemeld) don't seem to have d6 stats at the moment.

dhawk, Gry Sarth created a series of pdf files that serve as a reference for all SW stats. Including Force Powers created by WEG, converted from WOTC, and fan-made powers. You can find them on the first page of the thread at the top of the boards here.

There are also a series of threads on the boards where they discuss converting the Saga Sourcebooks to d6, and that includes pdf files. You can check the threads here to find what you need.

dhawk, I admit I have yet to even read the Dark Nest Trilogy and the novels afterwards, but I do recall the NJO. I have the following comments about your stats.

In Balance Point, she and Mara worked to keep a Force bubble up in order to prevent being buried after Nom Anor blew the detonators and collapsed his underground lab. I think that would be an application of lesser Force shield.

Do you have the Gamers magazines? They're the old SW RPG magazines that also included short stories. In issue #5, there's a short story called The Apprentice, and it's a missing chapter from Dark Journey. In that short story, Jaina learned from Kyp how to wipe minds, and she used it a few times. So I think memory wipe should be listed. Now should all the prerequisites for that power be listed as well? That's up to you, but I always believe you need to know all the prerequisites before learning an "advanced" power, if you get my meaning.

Considering how close she skirted the dark side in Dark Journey and Apprentice, she should have more than 1 DSP, unless she spent the years between the NJO and Betrayal doing things that counted as atoning for those DSP's.

Many thanks, Forceally. There were a lot of details regarding Jaina in the NJO series, some of which that I had forgotten. It's been a while since I've cracked open the NJO novels, though maybe I should for a refresher.

The Force bubble she and Mara created I did forget about. I will include that power in the revision.

I did not include Memory Wipe for two reasons: I've never read about her using Farseeing as a power, and it is one of the prerequisites for Memory Wipe. The second reason is that it is listed as a Sith discipline. While Kyp had skirted close to the Dark Side at that time (especially during the NJO series), though he taught it to her, would it necessarily be available for her use at the point of LOTF? I am considering taking Force Lightning off the list for the same reason, but it was at a pivotal moment when and why she used that power (the moment where she herself nearly fell to the Dark Side). Great input though! I may include both powers or remove both (being Dark Side powers) based on this.

I felt that initial DSP total was inaccurate as well (counting the events of Apprentice, Star by Star, and Dark Journey). But I do think she went through an atonement period of sorts between Dark Nest and LOTF, enough to recognize that Jacen had changed for the worse as early as Dark Nest. Maybe 3 or 4 DSPs would reflect this accurately.

About removing both powers, I might be wrong, but I get the feeling that once a Jedi learns a power, he or she cannot unlearn it. The Jedi can choose not to use it again. The Jedi can learn to use the power in a different way. Like Mara did in I, Jedi - though she didn't learn anything new, she did learn to draw on the light side when using Force powers rather than the dark side.

The one exception might be when it comes to Aing-Tii. I remember Jorj Car'das saying in VOTF how in order to learn Aing-Tii powers, a Jedi needs to abandon the black-white view and adopt the Aing-Tii's rainbow view of the Force. Don't know if Jacen did that, but he did adopt a much broader view of the Force post-Traitor.

And as for prerequisites, I have come across stats, official and fan-made, where an advanced power was listed, but not all the prerequisite powers weren't. My take on that is that the Jedi in question does know the prerequisite power, but he or she hasn't used it in a novel yet. I mean, the d6 stats do say - these are the powers the Jedi have shown. It's likely the Jedi knows more.

As for Jaina knowing farseeing, I actually think she does know this power. In Refugee, at one point, she was talking to Tahiri about the bomb that was planted. She then saw the bomb through Tahiri's eyes. Luke did the same thing in Truce at Bakura when he looked through Wedge's eyes to see the detonator assembly in that probe. And the Truce at Bakura Sourcebook did say that this was an application of farseeing.

I have a question about Jaina's final stats. You listed shatterpoint as a Control and Sense Power. Well, I agree that in the novel, she, Jacen, and Luke demonstrated they knew about shatterpoints. However, the Clone Wars Campaign Guide provided a description of the shatterpoint power, and it was different from Mace's ability to sense shatterpoint. So he created two powers - shatterpoint sense and shatterpoint strike. Both are Sense Powers. What Jacen demonstrated, and what Luke taught Jaina, was shatterpoint strike, and in his conversion, Gry listed shatterpoint sense as a prerequisite power for shatterpoint strike. Gry created a PDF of the conversion, so you should check it out. You can go to the Clone Wars conversion thread in this forum and either view it or download it.

I read through Gry's CWCG a while back. It must have slipped my mind that he had created/converted the two shatterpoint powers. When I posted the stats, I simply listed a shatterstrike power that encompassed what I thought had been taught to her by Luke. I'll go ahead and list both according in the Invincible update.

Alright, here's the final final version of Jaina Solo, along with the two updates (reflecting her status up to Sacrifice and at the end of Invincible). And you have my thanks, Forceally, for your input!

Perception Skills:
Kinetic Communication: Time to use: One round to one minute. This is the ability of Lorrdians to communicate with one another through hand gestures, facial tics, and very subtle body movements. Unless the Lorrdian trying to communicate is underdirect observation, the difficulty is Very Easy. When a Lorrdian is under direct observation, the observer must roll a Perception check to notice that the Lorrdian is communicating a message; the difficulty to spot the communication is the Lorrdians’s kinetic communication total. Individuals who know telekinetic conversation are considered fluent in that “language” and will need to make rolls to understand a message only when it is extremely technical or detailed.
Body Language: Time to use: One round. Traditionally raised Lorrdians can interpret body gestures and movements, and can often tell a person’s disposition just by their posture. Given enough time, a Lorrdian can get a fairly accurate idea of a person’s emotional state. The difficulty is determined based on the target’s state of mind and how hard the target is trying to conceal his or her emotional state. Allow a Lorrdian character to make a body language or Perception roll based on the difficulties below.
These difficulties should be modified based on a number of factors, including if the Lorrdian is familiar with the person’s culture, whether the person is attempting to conceal their feelings, or if they are using unfamiliar gestures or mannerisms.

Difficulty/Emotional State:
Very Easy/Extremely intense state (rage, hate, intense sorrow, ecstatic).

Easy/Intense emotional state (agitation, anger, happiness).

Moderate/Moderate emotional state (one emotion is slightly significant over all others).

Difficult/Mild emotion or character is actively trying to hide emotional state (must make a willpower roll to hide emotion; base difficulty on intensity of emotion; Very Difficult for extremely intense emotion, Difficult for intense emotion, Moderate for moderate emotion, Easy for mild emotion, Very Easy for very mild emotion).

Very Difficult/Very Mild emotion or character is very actively trying to hide emotional state.

Special Abilities:
Kinetic Communication: Lorrdians can communicate with one another by means of a language of subtle facial expressions, muscle ticks and body gestures. In game terms, this means that two Lorrdians who can see one another can surreptitiously communicate in total silence. This is a special ability because the language is so complex that only an individual raised fully in the Lorrdian culture can learn the subtleties of the language.
Story Factors:
Former Slaves: Lorrdians were enslaved during the Kanz Disorders and have a great sympathy for any who are enslaved now. They will never knowingly deal with slavers, or turn their back on a slave who is trying to escape.
