The KAWD attempts to communicate with the unknown droid with it's internal com and it's vocabulator simultaneously. It also prepares to defend itself if need be.

The unit stares at the KAWD for a moment. Then the sounds of audio playback fill the air.

There's the sound of an igniting lightsaber.
"Shame you did not count on us being able to see in the dark as well as you can."
A pair of weapons discharge, one shot can be heard striking a wall in a loud explosion. The other can be heard to be deflected from the ignited lightsaber into a wall with another loud explosion. This is followed by the pinging sound of something striking metal.
Then there are running footsteps and another couple shot are taken. Again the sound of a shot being deflected by a lightsaber is heard, but this time it strikes what sounds like the metal grating above the tunnel floor as this sound is followed by the sounds of a large section of metal grating falling into the liquid filth on the tunnel floor. This is followed by the sounds of someone dropping hard to the gratting, someone falling into the filth and metal hitting metal hard as if something made of metal leapt across a large hole.
"We need to take these things out and I'm not certain my crossbow can puncture their armor!"
There's the sound of something metal scrambling on metal and a slightly screechy sliding sound as yet another piar of shots erupt. This third pair slam into the liquid on the tunnel floor and apparently throw up geysers of liquid filth as they can be heard to splash back into the liquid. There is then the sound of a slashing lightsaber and two large metal objects falling onto a metal grating just as another object makes a thud on the grating.
"Halt, do not destroy these droids completely. Being Giric may be able to either salvage parts or discover the being that commanded them to attack."
This is followed by someone dropping into the liquid filth and slogging loudly through.
"Juggernauts," he says, not attempting to whisper. From the way he speaks it sounds as if he's afraid the fight has already given away their position. But there's another tone there, one of concern and worry. "Exactly as I thought. Not good. After the Great Droid Revolution nineteen years ago most of the Juggernauts were decommissioned by the Republic and their intelligence matrices were ripped out. These two aren't carrying the standard Republic-issue pulse-wave rifles the Republic had issued to the droids before the revolt, which leaves them with with their built in weaponry only. Their the kind of droid criminal orginizations would love to get their hands on."
Footsteps can be heard.
"Strange. When we were sentenced to this place the justices said droids do not function for very long down here. I wonder how long those two have been down here for. Likely not that long. And unless their rogue juggernauts which escaped the Republic after the droid revolt, that means someone sent them after us."
"If tools can be found is being Giric able to extract answers or the installed weapons from these droids?"
"How far and for how long are you intending to drag those units?"
"The chariot unit can clamp one droid in place with the inbuilt magnet and follow. If the droid becomes too cumbersome before tools are located it can be abandoned."
"It's your call The droid wants to take along one of the juggernauts. It's your call as to whether or not to take them. If their currently off line we could gain several minutes lead time leaving them here as their not going to know where we went, whether we doubled back on ourselves or went forward. We take one and it comes back on line we could be in for some trouble. But what we might gain from the droid...."
"Until we find tools, leave it. If they are still here when we come back we can lug one back to the camp. Unless you see the need to carry it around now, ans possibly slowing us down?"
"Why not first see if the droid does slow us down and then abandon the droid if needs be."
"You want it, you carry it, your responsibility." |
The audio stops playing and the second KAWD takes a step forward. It's movements seem to suggest a bit of contempt.
"XD-209 has been observed collaborating with enemy forces. XD-209 was lured away from enemy forces so this unit could take XD-209 place in order to make those XD-209 is alligned with believe this unit is XD-209 and drop defenses," the droid states in a voice the KAWD knows too well. The droid then points a short sword at the KAWD and for the first time the war droid takes in both weapons the other unit is carrying. In it's other hand it notices the other unit is carrying one of the pulse wave assembley weapons standard Krath War Droids carry along side their short swords.
"XD-209 has demonstrated it's programming has not been completed. Files reveal reports to all Krath forces that XD-209 was removed from Krath outpost on Nort before XD-209's construction and programming could be finalized. XD-209 is an incomplete XD-200 series prototype and will be subdued and deactivated in preperation for complete memory wipe before return to Nort to be finalized"

"None of the weapons possessed by unknown XD-200 series prototype have the ability to subdue XD-209, destruction is the only possibility."
The KAWD makes itself ready to act defensively if needed but for now attempts to keep the unknown droid talking. It makes sure to scan the area for another droid.

The other KAWD raises it's pulse-wave assembly and aims it at the KAWD. The KAWD notices for he first time that the droid's right hand has been damaged It doesn't observe any other droids present.

The KAWD snaps it's briad at the attacking droid aiming to disarm it or at least ruin it's aim.

The KAWD snaps it's braid at the attacking droid only to have it's braid suddenly stop and be repeled backwards before it can even reach it's intended. It's repelled with such force the the KAWD's own braid actually causes it to fall over backwards.
"XD-209's attacks ineffective. This unit a complete prototype," The droid says in such a way that the KAWD could picture it wearing a sinister smile if it were an organic being. It then proceeds to fire a single shot into the floor to the left of the KAWD's head as if to emphasize it's precieved superiority.

The KAWD hurls the skull it is holding at the complete prototype attempting to use the distraction to dodge past the prototype and out the door it entered through.

The KAWD hurls the skull at it's opponent only for the skull to meet the same resistance it's braid met with. But without anything attached to iit to halt it's momentum the skull is sent rocketing into the door behind the downed war droid, causing it to shatter. At the same time smoke erupts from the other KAWD's forearm, distracting the other unit long enough for the KAWD to get up and scrabble past it's foe and out the door.
(OOC: Mystery smoke is not sign of damage to other KAWD, but one mystery item is out until repaired.)

The KAWD makes it back to the door that cut it off from the rest of the team. It finds a diamond shaped hole cut into the door through which it can see through to where the rest of the team should be. But there is nobody there. There appears to be a section of flooring streching from one wall to the other missing.
Looking to it's left it finds the door through which the little chariot unit also has a diamond shaped hole cut into it allowing it to make out what appears to be a small generator. At least small in terms of something meant power an area probably a the size of a city block or two. The diamond slab lays on the generator, possibly having damaged it a little.
Then the KAWD notes the chariot unit in the tunnel. The Juggernaut's remains are no longer laying on the droid, and for good reason. The little proto droid has been blasted and is no longer functioning. It is just laying there as if it had been used as a shield and then discarded.

The KAWD attempts to command the chariot unit to follow, if it cannot even attempt to move then the KAWD abandons it moving through the diamond shaped hole that originally separated it from the group and attempting to track the rest of the group with it's multi-vision mode.

Nothing happens when the KAWD attempts to issue commands to the chariot unit. It is forced to leave the unit behind and dives through the diamond shaped hole, it's sensors registering the intense heat as it passes through. Once on the other side the KAWD notes the level of liquid filth on the tunnel floor has dropped. Sectrions of the grating used as a walkway to keep beings out of the collecting much and filth are able to be seen on the tunnel floor, clearly having been submerged at one point. It manages to spot a hole cut into the tunnel floor several meters away from the cut in the grating. It looks as if the team had made the cut themselves they would have had to crawl under the grating to do so.

The KAWD crawls under the grating and looks into the cut. It finds a second hole a meter below the first which drops down to another grating five meters below the ceiling. A quick estimate shows it would be a six meter drop.
At that moment the KAWD hears a splash in the tunnel behind it and realizes it's rival is already following it.
