So, obviously rolled v.s. Command or Demolitions, rather than search?

Well, the first two were probably Very Easy Con rolls, while the third was either a Con failure at increased Difficulty, followed by a series of Missile Weapons rolls.

P.S. Glad you liked it, Garhkal

Oh, missile weapons. I hadn't thought of that. I just figured it was more Monty Python-ish to wire every single building in Britain with explosives beforehand...

Good point, but I think wiring all the bushes and camping sites in addition to the buildings is a bit outside their budget.

So, I suppose it's a mix of both?

Plus a double dose of absurdity when we both wake up and realize we are trying to script a Monty Python skit using WEG D6 game rules...

Well for many years i played a SpecForce Infiltrator that specialized in sniper.
Firstly Blaster: Sniper Rifle specialty for your skill.
As for weaponry, go all out and try to convince or adventure for a rare crystal for blasters that created invisible beams, say a crystal from the homeworld of Defel's...if you survice finding one.

Its how i did it, the beam can only be seen under Ultraviolet conditions.

Anyone mention having a droid as your spotter/dope book? Seems like they could build a droid that gives you up to date weather and could track and give vitals on high value targets. Also, does anyone have a loss of energy chart for energy weapons at extreme distances? With shape charge effects, the suspected downrange hazard is 2KM and that's worst case. I always figured character size weapons would be much less [but I'm wrong all the time....married life].

Anyway, droid scope on a slug or projo rifle is my vote.

Cheers

My iPhone has a ballistics calculator. Is that the kind of information you were looking for, or are you talking about explosives and the like?

For energy weapons [blaster, lazer, etc]. That way type of energy weapon could be figured in for best sniper platform.

I don't know enought about energy weapons to say plasma beats green lazer on range hands down.

Cheers

Well, the problem there is that we don't know exactly how blasters work. I've compiled a theory of my own, though, and have come up with some rules ideas for long distance marksmanship.

Also check out the earlier part of this thread. I'm pretty sure we've discussed a marksmanship advanced skill in there somewhere.

So Kell,

What I got from that would be the most compressible and dense gasses should have the greatest range? Also have to assume that some will react or dissapate faster in different atmo? Then measure that against a slug thrower....Math is hard!

Cheers and nice write up

My theory of blaster bolts is that once in flight, they sustain their shape magnetically, by being a high temperature plasma. So, the higher the initial energy of the blast, the longer it could maintain flight in most circumstances. That said, the crucial point is that we don't know for sure and couldn't prove any of it if we did, so feel free to make up something easy to use that makes sense to you and is fun for the rest of the group!
