Maybe, but there would be some obvious exceptions. Mountain troops would need Climbing/Jumping as a skill, but I can't think of much beyond that at the moment.

True, and that would likely be enough to justify a seperate stat block. Also, a plains trooper would likely need running. Cold weather might be able to make use of extra Demolitions training.

I think you were right, there probably is enough veriety to justify fresh stat blocks for most, if not all of the wilderness troopers. I'll add them to my to-do list. I'd love to hear everyone's ideas on these troops, what all can I do to help distinguish the individual verieties?

Just a quick update to show where I am on things. I've had a chance to work on the SpecForce stuff a little more, but thats about it. If it keeps raining today, I'll hopefully finish the baseline for the last couple of SpecForce blocks, but if things clear up, I need to get out and work around the house instead, . . . * indicates that I have at least baseline stats for the troop type. And keep in mind, once I have a baseline done, the rest of the stats come together pretty quick:

Well, why was there any diff between regular stormies, and desert/snow?

Desert needs higher stamina, coolant gear. While snow/artic needs more climbing and heating stuff.

SpecForce Cold/Desert. I've already put together baseline stats for them. Both the stat block and the gear have subtle differences.

SpecForce Translator. I'll split the difference with you and give the character 4D+1.

SpecForce Medic. The first upgrade will add the Medicine skill to the stat block. The gear represents what the upgraded version will posess, I never even thought to trade it out for a Medpack in the weaker version.

SpedForce Officer. I missed that, I'll add Tactics 3D.

SpecForce Wilderness Fighter: Aquatic. I really like the idea of the Speargun. There is a Blaster Speargun in one of the Fantastic Technology books, I'll use that.

Just a little update. I've finished the baselines for all of the SpecForce units and have started in on the New Republic stuff. Once I get through those, everything else should come together pretty quickly.

SpecForce Translator. What kind of specialties are we talking about? I wouldnt mind giving them specialties in Alien Species, Culture, & Language, but I dont want to paint the character into a corner. Maybe I can put a note with the character about being able to add one specialty to those three fields?

SpecForce Infiltrator. Interesting, an inconsistancy in the source material. I like the version in the Rules of Engagement book better, so I will be happy to use those instead.

SpecForce Procurement Specialist. I'm using the official stats for the baseline, but I was seriously considering adding Pick Pocket and Value to the upgraded versions.

Alright, I just finished the Rebel/New Republic army stats. I just have to finish fleshing out the SpecForce stuff and this phase of the project will be done. Since I posted all of the baseline SpecForce stats already, i wont bother doing so again.

Since I am nearing completion of the Army stats, I'm starting to plan out what I need for the Navy. If anyone can think of something to add to my to-do list, I'd love to hear it!

Rebel Squad Leaders. I tend to use the stock troop as a base template when building upgraded models (Leaders included). As a result, I didnt even think to raise the Knowledge for the leaders when building on the Rebel Soldier. How does this look?

Looking good, so far, though I only see Airspeeder Pilots (even though they have starfighter pilot skills), are there going to be Starfighter Pilots?

Or Fleet crew?

The Airspeeder pilots only have Starfighter Piloting because the official stat block I used as a source had that skill.

Yeah I went looking and found the Airspeeder Pilots stats as well, makes sense as strapped as the Rebellion was for manpower that the Airspeeder Pilots would back-fill as either starfighter pilots (perhaps running picket duties or such rather than actual attack squadrons) and transport or shuttle pilots (which makes me want to add space transports to their stats!).

All in all, excellent work so far! I'm employing the Rebel stats this weekend in a game (along with all the Imperials obviously!) so should be good!

Just need to keep my players focused on Rebellion era for a while longer until I can flesh out some Clone/Droid stats as they are chomping at the bit now for Rise Of The Empire!

It's conceivable that the Alliance would have access to Clone Wars era walker tech, like the AT-TE. It wouldn't be particularly useful for the guerilla warfare the Alliance has to fight, but once they make the transition to offensive warfare after Endor, there could be a place for it.
