With more joy than he intends, Bri'tan responds, "Just doing a little fly by to check things out!"

Seeing that the asteroid field gets thicker ahead, he stops accelerating, but dosnt slow down. Checking his scanners quickly, he attempts to approach the larger ship from the aft section, only slowing once the larger ship comes into view, skimming along the top half of the hull to get a better look at the ship.

Daryn's eyes go wide as he detects the exact opposite of what he expected. "That can't be," he murmurs. "I am sensing...no one on that ship. Captain, be very, very careful. I have a bad feeling about this."

Shadow mumbles to himself as he starts to see the asteroids whipping by the canopy, "I hope he knows what he is doing." He arms up the weapons and starts locking the larger asteroids that are approaching the ship so he can make sure that the path is clear if the Captain, in fact, does not know what he is doing. A sense of sadness comes over him as he sees the dead looking ship floating in the asteroid belt, knowing that some horrible must have happened to alot of soldiers in there, and that it was going to be blamed on clones like himself. (He will shoot as necessary to keep the ship out of danger from asteroids.)

Bri'tan
Adrenaline pumping, Bri'tan works the controls and sends the Greased Nerf slicing deeper into and across the asteroid field. With a quick glance at the sensors, Bri'tan adjusts his course and veers fairly hard to the right, narrowly missing a collision with a large asteroid. With a nervous grin, Bri'tan continues on his course and manages to avoid most of the danger.

Just before pulling another difficult corkscrew maneuver, Bri'tan hears Daryn's oddly chilling statement: "I am sensing...no one on that ship. Captain, be very, very careful. I have a bad feeling this."

Distracted for a second, Bri'tan has a brief moment to react as a large asteroid, spinning counter-clockwise, is fast approaching from the 7 o'clock position. (OOC - does that make sense?)

Shadow
Shadow's somber moment passes quickly as the Greased Nerf begins pouring itself through some fast maneuvers through the asteroid field. Gritting his teeth and gripping the fire controls, Shadow tries targeting some asteroids. His first two shots sail wide of his intended target, but his third manages to strike home, obliterating a smaller asteroid. Seconds later, the Nerf dives to the right and out of nowhere, a huge asteroid flies across Shadow's view, just a few feet away from his face.

Daryn
Feeling a chill, Daryn eases his connection to the force and focuses again on the current situation. Staring out the viewport, Daryn realizes that Bri'tan is attempting to approach the Freedom Fighter from behind. To his left, Captain Nihl was gripping his restraints tightly.

Seeing the asteroid, he quickly maneuvers to dodge the rock (OOC: I'll spend a CP if its going to be a close call.) "Bad feeling or no," Bri'tan says, "We still need parts to repair this ship that we can find on that ship." He eases up on the throttle a little, slowing the bulky freighter, paying attention to his own piloting and trusting the others to keep their eyes out for anything that may be out of the ordinary. He glances to the side, "Kage, start making a list of whatever we need to complete our repairs, along with a list of anything else that we may be able to use before we dock." He fails to suppress his smile as he corkscrews the Greased Nerf around an asteroid, "We're going shopping while our passangers figure out what happened to their friends."

Daryn focuses his concentration on the path the Greased Nerf is taking. If he senses any asteroids on a collision course, he does his best to alter their trajectory.

((OOC: Concentration, then Danger Sense. If any asteroids are inbound, Concentration, then Telekinesis))

Shadow starts firing at everything he sees trying to add some protection to the ship during this obviously crazy plan.

Bri'tan
Gripping hard on the yoke, Bri'tan pulls the Nerf into a steep climb and then rolls the ship over and breaks hard to the left. Kage lets out a surprised squeal and Bri'tan also hears Capt. Nihl mutter something under his breath. While it maybe didn't please the passengers, the aggressive maneuver did succeed in clearing the gigantic spinning rock. (OC - no CP necessary!)

Leveling back out and getting his bearings, Bri'tan notices a brief gap in the asteroid field. If he guns the engine, he might just be able to sneak through and come in tight to the aft of the Venator. He would be coming in awfully fast, but Bri'tan thinks he can pull it off.

At the same time, Bri'tan can hear Kage running through the data to compile his parts list.

Daryn
Daryn's concentration is briefly interrupted as Bri'tan throws the ship into another risky but impressive maneuver. Seconds later, as the Greased Nerf levels out, Daryn reaches out with the force. Again he is struck by that cold, numbing sensation emanating from the Freedom Fighter. Shaking that aside, at least for the moment, Daryn manages to lock on an asteroid hurtling in their direction from the rear - an asteroid that Bri'tan can't anticipate.

Shadow
Shadow blasts away from his position in the gun well. Seconds later, he can hear Salvo unleash his own stream of blaster fire. It was an impressive sight, as the Greased Nerf cork-screwed through the asteroid field, green lances of light flashing out in seemingly all directions as the ship rotated on its axis.

Shadow missed far more than he hit. In fact, hitting ANYTHING with the ship's flight plan was no small feat. But seeing several asteroids explode due to his handiwork was exhilarating.

After one particular hit, the Greased Nerf quickly climbed and dove hard to the left, sending Shadow and everyone else hanging on for dear life. As soon as the ship leveled out, Shadow manages a glance in the direction of the Freedom Fighter. Much closer now, Shadow notices that the rear profile of the big ship doesn't look quite right.

Daryn shakes off the numbness emanating from the cruiser in time to detect a rogue asteroid that, apparently, Bri'tan isn't going to pick up on, since it's coming from the rear quarter of the ship.

Daryn digs down deep, opening himself up fully to the Force, and uses it to push the asteroid off its collision course with the ship. Fortunately, Daryn has a good grasp on the notion that the asteroid is, in fact, in space; in the back of his mind, he hears the often-repeated mantra, "Size matters not." Holding firm to that admonition, he pushes hard...

Seeing the gap in the asteroid field, Bri'tan dosnt even pause to think about it, he gunns the engines, bringing the Greased Nerf in towards the aft section of the Venator. Once he is closer to the Venator, he slows the ship and angles towards the larger ship's hangar bay.

In between shots and trying to keep himself alive, Shadow will glance further at the strange rear quarter of the ship to see if he can make out what has happened to it.

Daryn
Daryn channels the force and pours all his energy into his efforts. Bracing himself as best he can against his chair, Daryn closes his eyes and pushes hard with the force toward the aft of the Greased Nerf.

At the very same moment, the Greased Nerf accelerates quickly and dives hard down and slightly to the right. This sudden take-off, combined with Daryn's push, leaves Daryn feeling nautious as if too many G-forces were being exerted on his body.

Unleashing a force-push unlike any he had done before, Daryn collapses back into his chair, breathing hard and bracing for impact. But as the seconds go by, there is no collision and Daryn feels all energy drained from his body.

Bri'tan
Adrenaline pumping yet again on this job, Bri'tan shoots the gap with all the speed he can manage, narrowly missing several asteroids that would have obliterated a lesser pilot along with his ship.

Very suddenly, the Venator's engines appear in his viewport, forcing Bri'tan to have to climb just as quickly as he came in, in order to avoid a collision with the Venator. Once he completes the quick climb and due to his current speed, Bri'tan knows he will have to cut the engines and drop into the hangar, all without hitting an asteroid...and all without any more than a few seconds to react.

Shadow
Shadow blasts apart another asteroid and manages to get one more look at the Venator. With little or no running lights on, it is hard for Shadow to be sure of anything. But, it sure looked like some sort of freighter was docked with the Venator at a spot above the engines and below the bridge.

Shadow has no time to analyze his discovery. Out of nowhere, Shadow sees a large asteroid closing quickly from the rear. Shadow feels completely helpless as he realizes there is nothing he can do. Just before impact, the asteroid seems to alter course ever so slightly, angling up and to the right. A millisecond later, the Greased Nerf dives hard and to the right, narrowly avoiding a fatal collision by the thinnest of margins.

Daryn slumps in his seat, his head lolling back against the headrest, chest heaving as he takes in deep breaths. His eyes close as he takes several long moments to compose himself.

As the Greased Nerf curves around the engine section of the Venator, Bri'tan hugs the hull of the larger ship. With one hand, he pulls back hard on the throttle as he tries to slow the bulky freighter enough to slip into the hangar bay. As he makes his final approach, he moves to land the Greased Nerf with what seems to be exagerated care.

Once he knows things are completely under control, he glances over his shoulder at the rest of the cockpit. Seeing Daryn, "Motion sickness bags are in the pocket behind your seat." Bri'tan says before returning his full attention to flying the freighter.

Daryn keeps his eyes closed and his head back. "It's not...motion sickness. Used the Force to...push the ship...asteroid was coming from...blind spot to the rear. Never done anything that...big before."
