ACT II - The Freedom Fighter

Bri'tan shoots another quick glance back at the Jedi, obviously not buying the story about a rogue asteroid that he didnt see, "Its nothing to be emberrassed about, some people just dont hangle fluxuating grav fields as well as others during fast maneuvers." His attention is back on his piloting before the first word had left his mouth.

Shadow snaps out of staring as the huge asteroid that they have just barely survived just as he sees the large cruiser right in front of them. As they maneuver past, and he catches a glance of it again, he finds it unusual to see something docked to a cruiser at other than the cargo bay. "I am not sure it is a good idea to go inside yet, there appears to be another ship still attached right below the bridge. I can't tell anything about it without getting closer, but it is definitely not the normal place to dock with this baby." He takes another breath and then realizes what he said about staying outside and speaks up again, "Then again we might be safer inside."

Ignoring Bri'tan, who obviously is one of those who must see before being able to believe, Daryn regathers his strength so he can call on the Force again.

((OOC: If Daryn is able to, he'll cast his Sensing to the ship that's docked with the cruiser, to see if perhaps focusing on that vessel will pick up anything. If not, he'll just gather his strength until he can.))

With little or no sympathy for the jedi or any of the other passengers, Bri'tan pulls the Nerf into a hard climb, up and over the back of the Freedom Fighter, only to dive back down, skimming the hull of the larger vessel.
Bri'tan hears Shadow's comment from the gunwell about another ship, but somewhat lost in the moment, Shadow's words don't really register.
The Greased Nerf roars along the hull of the Freedom Fighter, asteroids of varying sizes soaring by and some crashing into the Freedom Fighter with others ricocheting off its hull. One even impacted against the hull of the Nerf, resulting in a panicked shrill from Kage and nearly sending the ship and it's crew spinning out of control.
Gritting his teeth, Brit'an swings the ship around and sets the Nerf down a little rougher than intended in the hangar of the Republic battle ship


With the erratic movements of the Nerf, Daryn is unable to locate the other ship Shadow had warned about. Perhaps if he wasn't so exhausted, Daryn thought to himself...
Instead, Daryn closes his eyes and reaches for the force, slowly replenishing himself. Within moments, Daryn feels the ship come to rest, rather forcefully, in the hangar of the Freedom Fighter.


Shadow lets out a sigh of relief as the Greased Nerf settles roughly down onto the hangar floor of the big Republic vessel. He takes a moment to gather himself as, (thought he would never admit it) Bri'tan's last flurry of maneuvers left him somewhat nautious and disoriented.

Daryn opens his eyes as he continues to draw on the Force to replenish his strength. "Well done, Captain."

Hitting the intercom, Daryn addresses the entire ship. "Alright, everyone, we're safely down. Shadow, good job with spotting that docked ship. I want to try and get some sensor readings before we board."

Releasing the intercom, Daryn looks over to Kage and Bri'tan. "Have our sensors picked up anything regarding that ship Shadow spotted attached to the hull of the cruiser?"

With a wistful smile, Bri'tan checks that the Greased Nerf is safely secured inside of the larger vessel before starting to power down the bulky freighter's engines. Looking back at the others, "Do you want to go back out to get a better look at that other ship?"

Daryn replies, "No, Captain, I don't want to endanger the ship needlessly. Did we get any sensor scans of the second ship? If not, can we get any now?"

"Kage, transer the list of supplies we need to my datapad, "Bri'tan says as he levers himself out of the sweat soaked pilot's seat, "And run a scan to see what you can find out about that other ship."

Pulling his datapad on his way out of the cockpit, Bri'tan starts going over the list of supplies that will be needed to repair the Greased Nerf.

Shadow realizing they are now safe from asteroids, quickly grabs for his helmet and puts it on and begins searching outside the ship from his higher perspective looking for any movement in the bay? (Are the lights even on??) "Nobody deboard until I can get a look outside here." Searching the entire bay for any signs of life (or threats), Shadow attempts to scout the area. "Salvo, do you see anything under the ship??"

Daryn checks the sensor board, looking at the readings in the docking bay outside the Greased Nerf, looking to see if it is retaining atmosphere.

Bri'tan, sweat-soaked shirt clinging to his back, stands up and leans over the console, scanning the list of parts and supplies that will be needed to repair the Nerf. (OOC - I seem to remember sending that to you a while back. Do you have it, or am I misremembering?)
As Bri'tan checks the list, he mentally makes a note to add fuel to the list. He also notes that giving the hull a once-over might be a good idea after that helter-skelter dash through the asteroid field.

Before Bri'tan or Kage proceed with the scan, Captain Nihl's voice comes from somewhere behind the pilot and droid: "Is running a scan a good idea? Chances are whoever belongs to that ship doesn't know we're here. Won't running a scan alert them to our presence?"

Daryn slowly gets up from his chair and stretches. As he does so, he can feel the blood begin to flow, carrying energy back to his depleted body. Daryn uses the force to gently speed up the process. Looking over Bri'tan's shoulder at the sensor board, Daryn finds the appropriate green light letting him know that the docking bay around them is sealed and retaining atmosphere.

Immediately behind him, Daryn hears Captain Nihl's query about the sensors. Hearing the Captain's voice also reminds Daryn of the rest of the Clones and Daryn's thoughts snap back to Needles and Lurk, who endured that vigorous run through the asteroid field while hanging out in the medical bay.

Meanwhile, Shadow pulls off his helmet and feels cool air washing over his face. Coming up out of his seat to get a better view, Shadow sees a dark hangar bay. There are some safety lights running along the edges of the bay to provide low-level light, but if there are figures hiding in the shadows, Shadow can't locate them from where he is. He can make out at least a dozen other spacecraft, all fighter/bombers from the looks of them.

As he looks around Shadow hears Salvo reply, "There ain't much to see down here. Someone's turned the lights off. Kinda eerie down here. There should be Clone techs and pilots running all over the place down here...I don't see any signs of life."

"Kage, wait" Bri'tan quickly says, his attention turns to Darun, "You heard the man, your call."

(OOC: I remember you mentioning a list of parts, but I dont remember you ever sending it.)

Daryn nods at Nihl's comment. "Excellent point, Captain. The scan can wait; we'll recce ourselves and keep whomever's aboard in the dark. However, before we go gallivanting about, we should check on Lurk and Needles in the medbay, see how they made it through wild ride to get here."

Shadow climbs down the ladder to the main compartment of the Greased Nerf and put his helmet on to prepare to deboard. He grabs his rifle from his bunk and puts all of his equipment. "Boss, let me head out and take a look before the whole crowd moves out making a ruckus. I am ready at the exti hatch now," Shadow says as he moves to the loading ramp hoping someone will open it soon so he can get to work.
