In the darkness, the party all gasped and a few curses were yelled, but then a slow humm was as much felt as it was heard as various power sources began to charge and systems slowly came to life. Soon, the lights through the station, then the gentle tug of gravity was felt as the final life support systems came to life. However, as the station had been without atmosphere for so long, it was still unsafe for the team to remove their helmets & 0g suites right then and there.

As Elo & Crael did one last check throughout the reactor area, to see if there was any other damaged parts that would fail, Raye began a system check to see if there were any internal errors in the system that needed to be corrected. Not only did he run a quick system check and clean out any errors in the system, but he also found a back door access program to the station's 2 defense turbo blaster batteries! Also, Harris, despite is blurred vision checked the radiation read out for the reactor - seeing it falling to a safer level.

As Crael and Elo exited the reactor, a confusing jumble of voices and ideas flooded the coms. "We need to get to the C&C" "Is there a security system I can check to get a visual feed from the security cameras on" "We need to get to a med bay ASAP" - repeated by Akeyro. Finally, as Harris doubled over from another coughing fit, which this time resulted in blood tinged spittle staining his mouth, Akeyro stopped the debate with "Harris is going to DIE, get to the passageway that goes to the med bay right now!". With that the team fell silent and went into actions.

Soon the whole team was together and moving, Reedo in the lead, Crael and Elo following him, Akeyro carrying/dragging Harris, and Raye covering the back. The team followed the passage way to a set of stairs and then climbed them as quickly as Harris could handle, which was slowed significantly with the full force of gravity now pulling down on his weakened frame.

The stairs ended in a passage way that lead down to an L bend, with a door on each side halfway down the passage then a 3rd door at the corner of the L where the passage way turned to the left. The team halts at the doors, worried what to do next ... rush past and head to the med bay (which they knew was around here in general but not sure exactly where) or clear the rooms before they moved on looking for med bay.

Reedo went further along the hall to the corner of the L and after a second or 2 figured out the meaning of the sign on the door. "Medical facility". His excited waiving and calls over coms returned the party to the near chaos of earlier.

Harris, in a croaking voice, stopped the growing debate, "Clear them ... I'll last that long and it is safer for us all that way". The team looked at each other and then nodded, all except Akeyro, who was ready to carry His friend to the med bay by himself if need be. Raye opened the door on the left and Crael and Elo flowed through, clearing a room full of bunks ... a large bay for living quarters. This lead to a second smaller room with more bunks and then a 3rd room with 2 individual beds. As they turned to return to the party Elo came across coms "See I have learned something from you Harris" This resulted in a quiet chuckle for the radiation sick medic and a reply from him "Yeah, and now I'm going to have to learns something from you in return"

The 2 restacked on the second door going to the right, the door marked armory. Raye pushed the door open and reveled ... an empty room. Only shelves and space dust remained of the armories previous contents.

Then, Harris doubled over again, coughing. However, this time the coughs resulted in a face mask spattered with blood. He, in a daze reached up to wipe the blood away, but didn't realize he couldn't wipe it from inside his helmet. This resulted in the already frustrated Akeyro grabbing him and dragging him toward the far end of the hall where Reedo remained (watching the hallway that turned left creating the L). The party hurried to catch up with him and get ready to check the med bay.

Again. Raye opened the door and then the whole party flooded in to the room. Seeing, a room with med bunks, a computer log/terminal, a disabled med droid, a broken bacta tank and a second one in standby mode.

Elo, ran over to the tank seeing it was functional, if only he could get it to work with his limited medical training. Akeyro sat Harris down and began to try and help Elo. The 2 soon were able to get the tank started, but actually setting it up correctly ??? Crael, after making sure the room was secure, checked the med droid, and found the droid's actavator removed and crushed on the ground (but after a second or 2 of thought, believes he can replace it with one from the droids they had fought in the landing bay. Without a word, he sprint out the door, down the stairs and back to the remains of the droids. Reedo and Raye, just kind of nod at each other and watch the door.

Soon, Elo checking the med supplies, finds some stuff that he thinks will at least knock back Harris' pain so he pulls out his friends sleeve and gives him a shot. Which surprisingly does more than just relives his pain, it gives him at least a moment or 2 of awareness ... However, it is short lived and soon the radiation sickness again begins to cloud his mind.

By now, Crael returns to the group with all the salvaged parts he will need to repair the med droid. A minute or 2 of unwiring this, plugging in that, flipping this switch, and the droid springs to life ...

"Nooooooooo Stop, you can't do that, stopppppppp don't deactivate me Nooooooooo". Then the droid shuts down .... Crael then remembers to reset the droids recent memory, so it doesn't relive the last seconds of its last experience yet again, and restarts the med droid a second time.

Once the droid is operational, Akeyro tells it that Harris needs help, and after a quick scan of the nearly dead medic, the droid sets to work prepping the bacta tank and then, with Akeyro and Elo's assistance have Harris submerged in the healing liquid.

After a while the team, with Akeyro and Elo deciding to stay and keep an eye on the droid and the sick team mate, and Raye Crael and Reedo becoming bored just setting in the med bay, decide to split up.

Elo and Akeyro, while staying in the med bay, check the med log - looking to see it 1, there was any notations about the med droid having programming issues (which there were none) and 2 to see if there were any unusual medical issues before the station closed down - which again was negative, just 7 year old reports on sprained ankles accidental falls etc all things expected to see on a 'military like' base. Then Elo decides to check the med supplies for anything usable for the team's make shift sick bay on the flying turtle. An action which the med droid puts a stop to, by telling them to go talk to the supply master for proper request forms to get the needed supplies. To which, Akeyro bluntly says "We can't, they are all dead". This results in a 'blink blink' (if droids can blink any way) moment, but then the droid reverts to its last programming which restates "any supply requests for medical items must be routed through the supply sergeant, I'm sorry master, but without the proper forms I am not allowed to let you take any medical supplies". Elo stops his search, for the time being, in order to keep the med droid focused on keeping Harris alive and curing him of the radiation poisoning.

The remainder of the group - Raye Crael and Reedo - go to clear more of the station. At first planning on clearing the C&C section of the base. However, as it is on the opposite side of the base, and 3 floors above the hanger bay, they decide it is too far away. So, they clear this side of the base (which turns out to be the 'living quarters' section. Soon, the team finds the chow hall. After some digging, and ignoring the food that had been left out some 7 years ago, they are able to find some surprisingly well preserved supplies, dried goods, and frozen food. Plus, Raye finds a top of the line café machine and is able to get it cleaned and up and running ... After the 3 enjoy the first pot all to themselves (along with a bowl of food Reedo had thrown together - which Crael and Raye wisely decided to not ask any specifics about) the three make more café and throw together a grab and go meal and head back to the med bay. On the way ideas about taking a rest cycle or continuing to clear the station are kicked around.

When the group returns to the med bay, everyone goes in to check on Harris, but Elo and Crael go out into the hall to talk (outside of 'ear shot' of the med droid) "Do you trust him" 'What do you think" etc etc et. However, the conversation is cut short. Down the hall the clank of metallic feet echo out (the key word feet, lots of them!) The 2 look up to see 6, no 8 droids turn the corner down the end of the hall that the chow hall was on. The 2, without hesitation, pull blasters and fire. Then get around the corner of the "L" to have some cover. the droids return fire at the 2 as they get behind safety. Hearing blaster fire Raye, Reedo and Akeyro draw blasters and ... aren't sure what they can do being in the med bay with a closed door.

Raye is the first to the door and opens it enough to look down the hall, seeing multiple droids and a hail of blaster bolts spraying down at the back of Elo as he ducks behind safety in the last second. With this he holds his hand up to stop Reedo until there is a lull in the firing. When the droids pause, Raye jumps out into the hall and fires (planning on following Elo and Crael). The quick shot actually hits and drops a droid, the 3rd to fall in the fight thus far, but more have come into view to replace them. Reedo brushes behind Raye to get to cover before he turns to fire (so he makes it safely to the other side of the hall to the cover provided by the L bend in the hall). Unfortunately, Raye is to slow to make it and is forced to leap backwards back into the med bay to avoid the rain of blaster bolts. One bolt coming close enough to shower him in sparks as he stumbles behind the cover of the door. Akeyro decides it is best for him to simply stand ready to defend the life saving bacta tank so prepares to blast any droid that comes through the door.

Soon the team is settled into its positions with Reedo and Elo firing down the hall from the cover of the L bend, Raye firing form the med door and Crael taking up security from behind Reedo & Elo to watch the stairs. The party slowly whittles down the droids as they clank forward getting ever closer. However, despite Reedo's skill with a blaster and his ability to drop 2 or 3 other droids, one droid he fires at repeatedly refuses to fall despite 3 different hits.

Soon, Crael's patience at simply providing rear security pays off. As droids start to come into view up the stairs. He is able to stop the first wave of them (5 total) in their tracks before any of them make it 2 steps down the hall. A second wave of 3 (or more we aren't sure) droids falters and retreats when the first droid up the stairs is hit hard enough to knock it back to the second droid and then explode destroying the droid it tumbled back into.

By now the main push of the droids is within 5 meters of the L bend, but only 2 of them remain functional. Reedo again fires and grazes the same droid which reacts by dropping its head and bull charging the surprised gun man. At the end of the charge it swings and misses (but hits the wall with enough force the dent the steel wall - letting Reedo know that going hand to hand with the droid will be dicey at best). Elo turns to shoot the droid in the back as it prepares to swing a second time at Reedo, but his blaster ... over heats and will not fire. Raye, takes a shot at the last droid down the hall, but finally misses a shot himself ... the droid charges down and terns to go into the med bay (firing wildly as it approaches the door - forcing Raye to duck further behind cover - and spraying the room with 3 stray shots, one of which strikes the ceiling above the bacta tank. That further enrages Akeyro!

At the same moment, Reedo is able to get his blaster up and fire point blank into the droids chin. Finally killing it! The last droid steps into the bay swinging to shoot Raye as he scrambles back and tries to get his blaster up. However, Akeyro was set and ready and sends bolt after bolt into the surprised droid.

The party quickly begins to make sure all the droids that are down are truly destroyed ( and Elo does a quick repair on his blaster to get it operational again). However, the party stops in their tracks when they hear the med droids metallic voice calmly state 4 simple words ... "We are losing him" ...

With the med droids warning, Elo and Raye leave the deactivated and destroyed bodies of the droids and sprint into the med bay to join Akeyro. Crale and Reedo both take up positions to watch the 2 halls that the droids attacked from.

In the med bay, the 3 see that one of the shots into the med bay was not harmless ... a cabling connecting the med droid's control panel to the bacta tank had taken a hit and was sparking ...

Raye runs to the computer control and see if there is anything he can do while Elo and Akeyro try and help the med druid. Seeing that the control terminal was receiving no data from the tank, Raye assumes that it was an issue with the cable and yells over coms that someone needs to fix the damaged cable (assuming it would be Crale and forgetting that Elo was just as skilled mechanic). Elo looks up and finally focuses on the damaged cable ... then notices the other destroyed bacta tank, and its intact cable . He sees that the repair will, despite their best efforts, take too long to save Harris, so he quickly puts the Bacta tank into emergency cryogenic suspension mode, and watches as the bacta tank's jell darkens and Harris' twitching slows and stops. He know this is a short lived stop gap so he tells Akeyro to help him and quickly removes the good cable from the other bacta tank. The 2 switch out the cables and attach it to the control terminal. With fingers crossed they throw the switch ... and Raye has to jump back from the terminal as it erupts in a shower of sparks ... somewhere somehow in their hurry a cable got reversed or a ground crossed ...

Crale hears the yell and stops piling the droid up at the top of the stairs (to provide cover from another attack and be a sound warning if anything approaches from below) and run into the med bay. Seeing the three frantically accomplishing nothing, and the droid ineffectively looking at the destroyed controls, gets Elo's attention. As the 2 try and figure out what to do, Harris' life slowly slips away second by second. "The control panel is destroyed" "We need to replace the controls" "There is nothing to replace it with" "Without the control panel, the droid can't control the tank" ... and the 2 have an idea .... the droid has to control the tank, why not use the droid as the control panel ??? Elo runs out to the remains of the droids that attacked them to salvage parts as Crale begins to talk to the med droid. Asking it about its specs, wiring, primary and secondary programming, etc etc. Eventually, the droid puts 2 and 2 together and figures out that Crale, despite his demeanor and smile, does not have the droids best interest in mind. However, before the droid can back away, Crale hits it's emergency shutdown.

The minutes tick by as Crale and Elo jerry rig the droid to hook it directly to the Bacta tank, taking special care to boost the resistors and the fuses to make sure the droid isn't overloaded. Also as they are doing the work, Crale notices that the droid has previously been upgraded, but for what purpose he isn't sure ... Then with the last fuse and breaker plugged in, and the droid's maintenance panel left open and a pile of spare breakers and fuses close at hand, Crale powers up the med droid .... "Wait, don't touch that, don't shut me down again ... wait .... what have you done, how do I ... I don't understand ... How do I know what is happening in the Bacta tank ... I don't understand" Crale, in a surprisingly father like tone, begins to calm the med droid down. Telling him that it times being forced to go outside ones programming and doing what they thought was not possible is good and does just fulfill primary programming in a different way ... The droid drifts off mentally to Crale's calming words and begins to focus on and control the bacta tank. The color returns to a softer color and Harris twitches, seizes, and then goes back to a healthy relaxed state.

As the 2 worked at modifying the bacta tank, and Akeyro paced the room nervously, Raye left the room to replace Crale at his security point. However, Reedo is already there covering the stairs. Raye decides to go watch the other hallway. Once there he realizes exactly what and why Crale & Reedo had done, by spreading out broken parts and destroyed droids on the top of the stares, and decides to do the same to the hallway he is watching. However, He is unable to heft droids around so spends over 10 minutes gathering cans trash and misciliounious items from the galley. Then with a pile of refuse to work with the attempts to set up a noisy early warning area in the T intersection at the end of the hall between the repulsor lift and the galley.

Once the med droid has control of the bacta tank, and the party finally has a chance to take a breather, they decided what their next move should be ... clear this wing of the base, get some rest .... The group decides to clear the wing. Crale, not trusting his jury-rigged droid to not fail at a critical time, and Reedo, knowing that if another attack comes Crale will need help defending the med bay, decide to stay. Akeyro, Elo, and Raye decide to clear the wing. The head off, easily making their way through Raye's early warning area - Raye noticing the path he left in it rescattered it so that it would in fact be a good warning system. The make it to the repulsor lift, open the door (noticing that intermittently the lights flicker) and clear the lift. Next they get on the lift and push the button to go up to the 2nd floor.

As the lift, lifts ... the 3 notice a shutter and a unidentifiable noise ... As the lift approaches the 2nd floor, the lift stops early and shutters more violently. The noise, Elo figures out, is cabling being cut! Raye jumps to the door and tries to leverage it open ... a nearly humorous attempt if it wasn't for the danger! Akeyro sees Raye and jumps to help. Another shutter and bounce of the lift, and the 2 are able to get the door open enough to squeeze through (Elo, has his blaster drawn and ready for .... well he is ready). Raye braces the door and yells to Akeyro to go, but Akeyro seeing his trembling arms takes over bracing the door and nods for Raye to go. Raye rolls out of the door into an empty hall, Elo quickly follows. Akeyro, still in the door, feels the lift start to shutter one last time, and leaps into the hall a moment before the lift plummets and crashes into a heap.

The 3 look at each other ... Elo "Maybe, next time we should use the stairs" ... The other 2 nod in agreement, and begin to look for stairs ... stairs they can't find ... Raye decides to look up the lift shaft and sees the glowing spinning ends of 6 cut cables, a cat walk at the top of the lift shaft, and a maintain ladder going up and down, and the closed door to the above 3rd floor. He calls out to the other 2, who are looking for nonexistent stairs, and lets them know what he sees. No other choice, climb up to the maintains cat walk. Raye, remembering he isn't a hero, steps back and happily lets the others lead the way.

Crale, down in the med bay, notices a twitch in the droid's photo receptor and right hand. He checks his modifications and feels parts overheating. He makes a few readjustments and the twitches stop, for a time.

Elo, Akeyro, and slowly followed by Raye, slowly and quietly climb the ladder to the cat walk. Elo crossing over safety hand rail. Notices Droid tracks on the cat walk and can see where it cut the cables for the lift and where it went back down the catwalk to a maintenance access to the left. The three draw blasters and start to move following the droids tracks.

Again, Crale notices a twitch building in the droid, and this time sees that a fuse is about to pop. He quickly pops out the failing fuse and pops in another one. Both the droid and Harris twitch and thrash but settle back to normal. After 5, 10, maybe even longer, stress makes time fluid, Reedo brings in a cup of caff for Crale, and goes to stare at his friend in the tank. A whisper from Reedo and Harris twitches and thrashes. Reedo reacts by going and smashing a storage locker, but before he loses control, Crale calms him "He hears you and is fighting" ... "We have to do what we can to keep him fighting and give him a chance". Reedo nods and goes back out to again watch in the hall.

Elo moves down the maintenance access and eventually comes to a grating in the right side of the wall. A grate easily big enough for a human (or droid) to enter and exit to the room below. He hesitates for a moment and sees/hears a droid in the room below. He steps back away from the grate signaling the other 2 to ... get down ??? stop??? get ready??? Raye, shrugs his shoulders and looks at Akeyro.

Elo listens to see where the droid is and if there are more than one, but a thumping air processor kicks on and masks any noise from the room below. Elo looks into the room below and sees a circular room with 3 control terminals, piles of storage boxes, and cabling hanging from the ceiling and snaking across the floor. Across the room another modified work droid is moving and checking various readouts. This droid looks to be more modified and potentially more dangerous than the other droids they have faced thus far. Elo, taking a breath, quietly opens the grate and drops down into the room. Raye follows him and prepare to fire at the droid but then remembers himself and looks for cover. Akeyro is the last to drop from the maintenance access.

The droid turning to check another readout notices Raye trying to get behind cover and prepares to fire at the scrawny slicer. A bolt fires from the blaster rifle grafted onto the droids right arm (a significantly bigger weapon than any of the other droids have had) and blasts the storage crate Raye leaps behind. Elo fires and glancing shot at the droid and catches his attention. As it turns and snap shots at him, and misses completely, Raye fires and also does only glancing damage to the droid. Akeyro, with the droid turned sideways and unaware of him, sets and fires once twice three times into the droid. The droid is knocked back on its heels and stumbles. (which worries the group as the other droids thus far would have been easily destroyed by the shots from the party) Akeyro's last shot knocks the droid back again and it stumbles back out of the room into the hallway behind him.

The party is blinded as a lightning white and bright flash fills the hallway, frying the droid in its tracks. Ozone fills the control room and the three blink through their blindness. Then confused looks are exchanged ... meanwhile, Crale again has to fix a building tremor in the medical droid, but instead of simply switching out parts, encourages the droid and lets him know how good a job he is doing and how important he is to Harris' survival.

The three in the control room begin to search and try and figure out exactly what is control from here (as it doesn't fit what Raye and Elo expected to find based off the schematics they downloaded earlier). Elo sets down at one control and eventually figures out it is a weapons control, and sees the weapons are set to auto detect (but he can't figure out the underlying programming) and defend. Raye sets down at the last terminal and finds it is a general administrative/informational terminal. Smiling he dig in .... search after search results him in chasing rabbit ... However, it isn't wasted. File after file, folder after folder has been deleted, but their time stamps are easily recoverable. before 7 years ago, everything was normal. However, for some reason still unknown, the systems were put into standby and the station was abandoned. Then after about 6 months something began to modify things, delete thing, change things.

With this, Raye, knowing he could eventually dig up the deleted information, but not having the time needed for it, switches gears. What programs are running now ??? Normal this normal that, but then ... something odd in the background. The tool used/being used to change and delete the folders ... no way to find where it is active or being ran from but ... it is currently controlling ... electrical transformers ... daisy chained in a linear set up ... "Elo, give me the data pad"... "Hay, look at this!" ... Reality and the schematics on the data pad differ, things that should be there are, but something has been added. A set of high power transformers and lines going right to the hall outside the door! "Akeyro, DO NOT go out in that hall!" "I think I figured it out, if I do this..." "No not that, if you do that it will feed back" What about this" "It might work" "Akeyro, Ok, when I finish you can go out there and it should be ok" but Raye isn't truly sure and Elo is worried.

A running series of numbers pop up on the screen Raye and Elo are working from and the lights go down, throughout the entire station!

*** A little metconing the game, Crale began to climb up the repulsor lift shaft after the three of us made it on the cat walk and started going along the maintenance shaft, but before our fire fight with the droid in the control room. He hears the blaster fire and hurries, but makes it to the room just as the lights go out ****

The lights flick off and all is dark, except for the glow from the three system monitors, and a few second later they flicker back on. Both Elo and Raye argue, commenting "I didn't do that" "What did you do" "It wasn't me, was it you" ????

Crale and Akeyro look at each other and roll their eyes, and Akeyro begins to rant at Crale about not going out into that hall "It is bad, whatever you do don't do it !" Just as Raye says, smugly, "Hay I think this will work, give me a second" tap tap tap on the key board. Elo gets up and goes around the room checking the chairs to see if one is loose, eventually finking the 3rd is loose and easily pops of the support bracket on the floor. He then goes to the hall way and tosses it out the door. Thump, bounce and then a blinding arc of electricity disintegrates the chair. Crale, Elo and Akeyro are blinded by the flash and Raye looks up from the monitor and mumbles "I didn't say it was safe YET, give me a second" Tap tap tap ... "OK now it's good"

Once the three recover from their flash blindness, Elo goes and picks up a small tool storage crate and tosses it into the hall (Akeyro and Crale flinch and turn to keep from being blinded) . Thump bounce crash, as tools and odds and ends spill from the crate. Raye - more smugly now "See, I told you it was safe", then seeing something in the system trying to take over control again, "but I would hurry" as he bends back over the system and works at keeping control of the electric transducers lining the hall.

Crale, Akeyro and Elo argue about who is going to make the run. Akeyro deciding to stay back and help 'protect' Raye - and avoid running down the hall he sooooo fears. Elo and Crale stick their head out the doorway and look down the hall. A short shadow filled 100+ meter sprint with work tables and storage alcoves spaced here and there. Yeah an easy run ... In the shadows at the far end was that movement ???

Raye almost loses control again but a quick re routing of sub routine x puts him back in control of the power grid, "Mmmm guys, hurry!" Elo and Crale take a breath and RUN


As Elo gets about 1/4th of the way down the hall, he hears Crale tumble and fall behind him. A quick glance back show him sprawled on the floor and rolling up to stumble and run again. Raye, almost panics when control ALMOST slips through his fingers but before the electrodes can power up he again has control. Elo, running all out passes the half way point and glances back to see Crale more slowly running. Raye again fights for control, but this time momentarily locks out who ever or what ever has been fighting him. Elo makes it past the 3/4 mark and ...

An E-web, manned by a team of 4 droids opens up on the approaching Duro. Elo jumps/dives and rolls to cover in one of the storage alcoves. Crale, just past the half way point again trips and crashes head long into the floor again, this time knocking himself hard enough to see stars and get a goose egg on his forehead. However, as he looks at the far end of the hall, seeing the blaster fire from the crew supported blaster jumps up and runs (as best he can) to go help his pinned down friend.

Elo, curled up behind the limited cover he has in the storage alcove, digs in is gear pouch and feels ... the last bit of explosives left from their last mission (the prison break). He balls it up and pushes in a detonator, hoping he remembered how to properly set it for a 3 second delay, he looks down at the slightly smaller than fist sized make shift grenade and tosses it. ... It lands and rolls between the droids. Coming to rest against the power cable to the e-web. Boom the explosive ignites and does little damage to the droids, but it DOES sever the power cabling between the generator and the blaster. Plus the now sparking cable flips up and welds to a droid's leg, shorting the droid out in the process.

Crale making it past the 3/4 way point, again falls, but this time not because of a misstep, the 4th droid, instead of looking at the sparking cable frying the droid next to him, looks up and sees the charging human, firing and hits Crale in the leg. Crale, tumbles to the ground and looks up to see ... Elo, jumping from behind cover and sprinting the last 12 meters and ending up in between the droids before they can react and fire at him. Akeyro, hearing the blaster fire and explosion at the far end of the hall forgets his fear of the hall sized bug zapper, and sprints to his friends.

Crale, from the prone, braces himself and fires, dropping the droid behind Elo that was raising its fist to pummel Elo in the back of the head. Elo point blank fires into the droid that had just fired and hit Crale. Elo turns and surprised to see the smoking remains of the droid at his feet (From Crale's amazing shot - he may not have been able to run well, with lots of Harris' rolled to make the run, but he could shoot when needed). Before Elo can fire at the last remaining droid, Crale fires and drops it, but then struggles to get up with his wounded leg. Akeyro makes it to his injured friend and helps him up to hop/sprint the rest of the way down the hall to the landing in front of the blaster doors.

Raye, notices the 'what ever it is' has again gained access to the power control grid and has redoubled its efforts to gain control of the hallway's electrical defense grid. Raye, barley retains control of the system, but on his next try, is able to again lock out the 'what ever it is' and smugly complements himself on a slicing job well done.

As Crale and Akeyro make it to the blast door, Elo calls over the coms to Raye, "Ok, now how do I crack this security lock?" ... Raye gives some instructions, but then when Elo fails to open the lock, Raye tells him "you needed to pay attention and do what he is instructed to do, because no I'm not sure what needs to be done to open the lock". Elo out of frustration looks around and sees a second, jerry rigged control panel on the wall (not next to the blaster door). A quick look shows it to be the breakers for the hallway's make shift electrical defense grid. A flip of 4 switches and the grid is deactivated (regardless of who controls it on the computer system). A coms call to Raye causes a little confusion (arguing who is in control of the hall, how safe it is etc, because even with the brakes thrown, 'what ever it is' was still fighting Raye for control of the grid on the computer system). After Raye understands exactly what Elo did, he hurries down the hall to help open the security blast doors at the far end. Mean while, Akeyro and taken the chance to do first aid on Crale's injured leg.

Raye, goes the I got it, are you ready for me to open the door? to his team mates, and with a nod, the door slides open ... to the main Command and control room of the base, A half ring of system control computers on the left of the room, with monitors on the walls flashing scenes from locations throughout the base. Raye, happens to see the room he just left and sees 3, 4, 5, 6, droids step out of the maintenance access in the back of the room, and head toward the hall. Raye yells for Elo to re-switch the breakers and get into the C&C room!

The 4 teammates flood into the room and Raye shuts and locks the door, but then a metallic thump, thump thump of heavy footsteps echo through the room and all turn to see, a large highly modified droid, with a synthesized human face, warring a leather vest and cape, walk into the room from a back storage room.

"I am (and I forget his name sorry) the last most powerful Jedi. This is my home and this metallic shell is my body. You ARE NOT welcome here. I tire of you, you will now die!". Elo is the first to react and he quick fires (and misses) as he moves to the right. Raye is next and he jumps and rolls behind the computer terminals on the left. Crale and Akeyro both have to dodge out of the way as the Jedi/Droid opens fire on the now empty doorway.

Elo fires again, and does no damage, similarly Raye fires hits but only scorches the droid's leather vest. Elo has to drop behind cover as the droid turns and fires at him. Crale and Akeyro now have a chance to fire, and both fire shot after shot into the droid, knocking it back on its heels, but not destroying it. Raye notices the security screen of the hall seeing the droids running down the hall and getting close to halfway down to the closed blaster door.

Elo again fires and further damages the droid (but it is still up and fighting), but with its attention on those shooting at it, it is ignoring Raye. Raye hops over the computer terminal and sees that 'what ever it is' is again in control of the hallway's security grid. Raye starts to try and again get control of the grid. However, it isn't a maintenance system so he has extra work to do to get into the correct system. The droid again fires at Elo, but before it can get a second shot off, the combined fire of Crale and Akeyro drop it. With a confused look on its synthesized face, the Jedi/droid looks down at the blasted and smoking ruins of its chest, its eyes roll up into its 'head' and it crumples down sparking and twitching.

Raye, still not in control of the electric grid, looks up to see the droids are almost at the 3/4 point. "I may not be able to stop them get ready" he then drops his head and refocuses on trying to slice the system. Tap tap tap, an the noise of the droids running feet can be heard outside the blast doors. They are startled to hear a blaster fire and a pop echo from behind them, the look up to see not 4 but 3 of them in the C&C room, Akeyro is missing ...

Akeyro, as Raye panicky again sets to work on slicing the system notices a control cable snaking from the Jedi/droid back to the storage room it came out of. He, while everyone else turns and prepares to defend the doorway, follows it to a partially closed door. sliding the door open, he sees an old R unit with the control cabling plugged into it. The R unit begins to tweet, angrily, ejects the control cable, and charges Akeyro. bumping into him repeatedly. After a confused second or 2 Akeyro shrugs his shoulders and blasts the R unit. A single shot blows through the droid and pops off various parts and sends smoke drifting out of its ruptured top. ...

Raye cheers when he gets control, but it is too late, the droids are on the landing outside the blaster door (outside range of the electric security grid). Then the droids halt and go into shut down mode ...

Akeyro comes out of the storage room pushing the destroyed R unit and explaining what happened. The party is elated, for a moment, ... Looking up at the security screens flashing through the stations various locations, Raye notices the med bay, the bacta tank is empty, the med droid is sparking and twitching (only half the room is visible fro the angle). Raye calls out "Did you see that?" as the screen flashes to another room. He tries to switch back to the med bay's security camera, and after a second or 2 gets the right camera pulled up. A collective gasp and oh no escape the party. "We have to get back there NOW" "Open the blast door" "Wait the grid is still hot" "Give me a second" "Ok, now"

The party rushes past the droids in standby mode outside the blast door, down the hall, climbing down the repulsor lift maintenance ladder, and sprint to the med bay.

Harris, still dripping bacta fluid, is standing over the unconscious body of Reedo with a completely blank look on his face. Crale grabs Harris and leads him to a medical bed and sets him down on the edge of it, Harris offering no resistance. Elo and Akeyro get Reedo up and on his feet. They ask him what happened ... "I don't know, the droid says something is wrong, I hear something in the hall and turn to look, and then it all goes black..." Raye gets on the computer terminal and tries to pull up the security footage. Unfortunately, the feed is all live, there is no recording archive.

The team sets to work cobbling a repair for the damaged ship, while Akeyro sets watch over the blank faced Harris. After 8 hours of hard work, the ship, though not fully repaired, limps away from the asteroid station and makes its way toward the asteroid belt. As the ship makes it through the clearing around the asteroid base, Harris, still laying with a blank look on his face, rolls over and curls up facing the wall. With his back now turned to the worried Akeyor, Harris' eyes pop open (revealing gold flecked eyes instead of his normal light brown eyes) a sinister grin flashes across his face, and he quietly pulls a light saber from under his mattress, caresses it and slides it back under his mattress.

Akeyro is startled to hear a deep wail of a sob escape from Harris a few seconds of crying and again silence ...

The Flying turtle popped out of hyperspace and moved into orbit over the rebel base. Elo made the requisite call using the right code to get placed into a landing vector. The party, more somberly than normal, began to prepare for the return to their home base. Harris groggily got out of his bunk and to got ready.

As soon as the ship touched down the crew disembarked . Intel Officer Dane was there at the landing platform waiting. A confused smile crossed his face, "So how was Nar Shada", the Looking at Elo "Did you have problems getting your ship"? The crew mumbled back answers about "there were issues" "we ran into a Star Destroyer and then had to check out a ship crashed on an asteroid", etc etc etc. The Rebel Intel officer looks surprised and then says that it will be important to get the AARs and debriefs taken care of ASAP. As the party leaves the landing bay Elo remembers, "Sir, we need to get Harris checked out by Med" The officer nods his assent and Elo and Akeyro begin to take their friend to Med bay.

Harris, "No you all go take care of the paper work. I don't need your help finding Med Bay..." and he turns and walks off from the party. Harris wonders around the base for a bit and then makes his way to Med bay. As the Med Droid, with help from his female Hammer Head assistant, begins the medical review. Harris begins to give short curt answers and down plays his health issues. Once the inspection gets to a point, the med droid says "This is odd, there is genetic level damage and regrowth, and signs of recent Bact Tank use. Also signs of radiation damage". Harris, curtly answers "I don't remember that, My memory is fuzzy. I do remember having a problem with a reactor, but it wasn't that bad". After the med droid pulls the last vial of blood for the needed tests, Harris leaves and again wanders aimlessly through the base.

For a good 2 hours, the rest of the party fills out AARs and is debriefed by the base CO XO and the Intel officer. However, they are less than honest on their answers. Truefuly answering questions about the Imperial check point set up and the Interdictor that pulled them out of hyper space, the flight through the asteroid belt, but inflating their skills with fighting the TIEs. Also they change the deserted base into a derelict ship crash landed onto the planetoid. The ship had a radiation leak that Harris was exposed to, but other than that nothing interesting or unique. The Rebel officers take them at face value and after the debriefing is over, the party is allowed to carry on. They immediately go to med bay, but Harris has been long gone. A quick comlink call gets no answer. They decide they need to grab a bite to eat and then some well deserved rest.

Harris, after an unknown time, ends up in landing bay 4. This isn't the bay his team is normally assigned to land the turtle in. This is the area for the fighter wing. A few tech workers glance at him, but as he is well know through the base no one questions him. He wonders around looking at the various air frames walking around old Y wings, newer X wings, but is drawn to a newly arrived ship. One looks to be based on a y wing, but newer bigger, and updated. He grins and wonders off now paying attention to what repulsor lift leads here, what path to take to get back here in a hurry. Soon, he is over whelmed by exhaustion and goes back to his room. Placing the med patch on the med droid gave him and soon he is asleep.

The morning finds the party waking up and hungry. All the group, including Harris, head off to Chow hall and the somberness of the previous day is forgotten. Even Harris is back to his smiling self, talking and joking with his team mates as if a bad dream has passed. As they party sets and begins to eat, down the hall the pop, boom and electrical arcing echo out. Scream follow, and Harris is up and running, followed by the surprised party.

Harris pushes through the rebels running down the hall away for the black acidic smoke coming from a T in the hall. He turns to see the shocked and charred blackened victim standing in front of a open electrical maintenance hatch high voltage electrical arcs still leaping from the hatch. Harris yells back to Akeyro and Crael to shut the power off, and he begins to look for a rope, something to use to pull the victim from the electrical hazard. Soon, the 2 team mates have the electrical system shunted and the arcing stops. Harris and Elo run in and grab the corps and drag it away from the blackened maintenance hatch. Grabbing a sheet and 2 other Rebels, the 4 lay the victim as best as they can back and run to med bay with Harris yelling 'Make a hole, get out of the way!'

However, as they run Harris looks closely at the body, There are obvious signs of shock and electrical burns. But there is more, things that Harris has seen in combat ... shrapnel wounds, signs of explosive damage ... more than just shock and electrical burns!

When they arrive, one of the med assistants point to a bed and the med droid and 2 assistants hurry to check the victim. A quick glance and the droid pronounces him dead and turns to begin the requisite paperwork. Harris growls angrily, and grabs the me light on the ceiling, pulling it and angling it for a better look. The droid turns and asks 'Sir, what are you doing'. Harris snaps back 'your job, if you are doing I will', and closely looks at the victim's wounds. The droid begins to point out that 'we don't know who this is, where he is from, if he has religious or social taboos against this. We can't do an autopsy at this time until we know more'. Harris, smirks back, 'Ok, let me know when you have those answers and "know more", I'll let you know what I find out by then'.

The droid continues to advise against it, but Harris ignores him and continues looking at the deceased rebel technician. Elo, sensing the building tension, asks the med droid for a check on his prosthetic arm. Complaining that it has a delay and a twitch and that there is a tingling feedback building up. The med droid, conflicted by the 2 competing priorities finial turns and begins to inspect the bionic hand. The droid calls for an assistant's help. The female hammer head happily comes over (she had talked to Elo the previous night as he looked for Harris) and her 'happy' attention begins to make the quiet and reserved Doro uncomfortable.


Soon, the Wookie XO and a team of technicians arrive at the accident site. As they arrive, the fire sprinklers pop and begin showering the area with water. Akeyro and Crael, who had been giving a cursory inspection of the maintenance hatch and the surrounding area, hurry out of the falling water. The technicians slump their shoulders and set to work inspecting the accident site, as the XO calls to get the sprinklers shut off.

As Harris finishes his look at the deceased technician, he gets a cold water down his spine feeling and looks up turning toward the door, seeing a ... thing ... it looks like a walking root, with feathers ... A wash of fear, distance, followed by confusion pass through him, and then Harris recognizes ... 'Friend' the 'rosterbaga' for some weeks ago, from their first mission. And Harris smiles and walks away from the corps. Hay Elo, look how it is, I bet you never thought you'd see him again'. Elo turns and look at friend. and quickly unhooks himself from the diagnostic machine and hurries to follow him and Harris as they walk out of the med bay - avoiding the further flirtations of the hammer head.

The three talk a bit about what Friend has been doing seeing learning... and Harris quips "well, out of everything, I hope you have learned to stay away from anything with a glowing light whip. It's bad for your health." as he points down to the rebudding twig of an arm that Friend is growing after the attack of the light whip wielding Dark Force user. However, Harris' vision shifts to a gray sky and black rocked volcanic outcrop with an armored foe spinning and snapping a blood red light whip. Harris shakes his head to clear his mind ... Before the 3 make it up to the accident site, Harris pats his pockets, his belt and turns to Elo. I forgot it, I'll be back ... Tell Crael and Akeyro to do a good thorough inspection. Don't trust the inept technicians, they will mess up more than they find ..." then Harris turns and runs back down the hall toward his billet.

Elo and friend arrive at the now corodiand off site. The tell the 2 team members of what Harris said, Elo and Crael cross the barrior and approach the Wookie XO. Soon he looks down at them and in his strangely precise synthesized voice ask they if they need something. They Explain what Harris said and ask to help the investigation. The XO nods and points to the lead tec. The 2 go over and after a minute or 2 the teck chief looks up and notices them. They quickly tell him what Harris has said, and that the XO said they could help. He nods and begins to ask his own questions and answers theirs. Soon, Crael is closely looking at the 'accident' site - he eventually sees the proof of an accelerant being used and an explosion not consistent with simple electrical damage & not constituent with the limited voltage running through the panel. In the mean time Elo has been pointed toward the base's maintenance shift officer for this watch to get more background information.

Elo finds the maintenance Lt in landing by 2, the bay they use, as the Lt is checking shift schedules, maintenance logs, work orders and 100 other things, as he walks around inspecting his troops work. A quick conversation later, and Elo has found out that the technician was in fact a base technician, that he had been scheduled to do normal inspections and point maintenance in the wing that the sabotage had happened - in short he was who he was and he was supposed to be there. Also, he was a competent technician, but not exceptional. Plus, he was a bit 'odd' he just didn't quite fit the mold of a technician on the base, but there was nothing specifically wrong with him. He also comments on the turtle' need for repairs (yet again) and how there wasn't a work order filed for it. Also that there was a freighter ahead of them on the schedule that was over 18 hours behind on the repairs, so even with a red code, it will take a while.

Elo finishes his discussion by filling out the required paper work, and calls the rest of the team just as Crael finishes his inspection and briefing the wookie XO. The XO lays his paw on Crael's shoulder as he says "you know we need to keep this quiet. The saboteur may not expect us to figure out this was an accident, so we may be able to get 1 step ahead of him if we keep it quiet. Be ready if I need to call you and your team"

Harris blinks finding himself in a hallway, confusion then followed by a happy near euphoric wave passes through him. Harris drops his head and hurries to the blast site, coming up from the other side of the site. He simply steps offer the barrier and walks to his friends on the other side of the crime scene. The wookie XO glares down on him and Harris simply smirks back and continues on without saying an word. The party decides to meet in Crael's room, and calls Elo to let him know where to head.

Crael, Akeyro, & Harris are discussing what they know and what their next step is when Elo arrives, Friend standing quietly in the corner.

Harris "So, what did you find?" "An explosion, I told you so". "You know, we have to handle this ... We are in danger here, next time it could be one of us that is standing by the saboteur's bomb" "We can't trust the base personnel. The leaders are inept. They can't handle this, so I will." "We need to look at the files and find out who is new here, say 6 months. Look into personality files, look for the ones that are 'odd'. Look for those that aren't trustable, undesirable. I'll get us permission to look into the rooms. "

Elo complains about it being a bit drastic and draconian ... Harris brushes that off with "What other option is there. We can't trust them and we need to work this together and use our strengths to fix the problem. I can't do it myself, I need your strengths ... Plus, this is a military base, there is no privacy."

Another point, there is too many people here ... "Leave that to me. They may be incompliant, but they are usable. The leaders here will give me permission to do what I need to and that will get you what you need to do what I need you to. I'll get the Intel O too ok us seeing the personnel folders for everyone arriving here recently, then with his support we will get the XO and the CO's permission to do the rest"

A little more debate follows, but soon it is mostly settled ... and Friend stands nervously in the corner ...

Good job lurker, as always its entertaining to see a recap of a session. Reading it gives a bit more insight then when you are in the middle of it or trying to juggle cats as it were.

Special Operative James Tamadge (JT to his few friends and those that know his true name instead of one of the various cover names and alises he operates under) took a breath, relaxed, and knew.


He, looking up at his bunk mates and grinned. Pointing at Ele' - Etry (the Twi Lek) "You slid a card from Eltra's deck, I think a blue 3, and are reading the latest report from AIC (Alliance Intelligence Command) briefing on avoiding common Imperial intergeneration techniques ... Chapter 3 passive techniques". Turning to Chiril (the other human in the room) "You tossed a 4 & 3 (which are now hidden under a cup) on the dice, but bumped the table with your knee when Ele' grabbed a drink from in front of Eltra, so they could be reset. You are trying to memorize the names of the waitresses form the cantilenas, caf shops and diners for your new cover". Turning to Eltra, the Hrakian, "you drew a card, but don't care what it is because you know you have already beat my hand, or did until you lost that 3. You are rereading another operation manual on some annoying com device that will fail to work the second I touch it".

"Now my friends I have to pack and get ready to go, I got orders of ship, so for once I won't fall asleep to Ele's incessant snoring" ... the 3 other Rebel Operatives threw down the cards in their hands and began the surprised good natured arguments that have made them so close of friends ... "It wasn't chapter 3 it was 4" "What me cheat at dice while playing cards, what kind of creation do you think I am" "It isn't my fault or the com link's fault that you don't know how to check batteries properly" "My snoring, it is better than that Corielian symphonic noise you listen to, so inferior to Twi Lek compositions" ...

The banter ended as JT stuffed the last of his meager personal belongings into his GnG bag, tossed the 3 friends good cigars and a half bottle of spiced Lum, and turned walking out of the room "Remember, on the next PSD op, I won't be there, so make sure the cherry watches the sky line for you, and make sure he pushes the asset's head down enough to get him in the door of the repulsor without thumping him into the door hard enough to cross his eyes" The friends burst out laughing at JT's self focused joke about their last mission. "Keep your heads down, watch each other's back, May the Force be with you"

As JT left his room, the RoMoH2's (a rebellion CR-70 courier ship supporting high value/high danger Alliance Intelligence missions) com specialist finished decoding the latest traffic form Alliance Intelligence's Special Operation Support Department.

Item 6, Special Operative - Staff Sergeant equivalent rank, James Tamadge will be sliced to support Special Agent Drake with specific unique and critical missions. He will assist local alliance command as assigned, specifically assisting SFC - SpecOps command - Harris Er-Geron, team medic and team lead for local unusual operations team. SA Drake requests the additional support for the team due to the increasing critical yet dangerous missions the team has been involved in. The team is currently planned to retrieve individual team members personal freighter from Nar Shadda. Special Operative Tamadge will report into local command before the team returns from Nar Shaddaa. Proceed to location x351z2 for Special Operative Tamadge's transport on GR-75 transporting troops and supplies to the local base.
Item 7 ...

JT finished filling out the requisite forms to draw his specific mission gear and handed it to his team lead as the ships CO's runner delivered the official orders. Looking confused as to why and how JT was already drawing his gear, he shrugged his shoulders and knew not to ask question, ever, on this ship.

Team leader Iliam slid the last of JT's gear to him and slapped the young operative on the back. "Remember your father's training. It is the foundation of what will keep you alive. Make the lies you need for your cover to be more true than the truth of you. Remember, watch everything, see everything, pay attention to everything. It is the small detail that you notice that will give you the edge. Also, remember there are sector rangers, like you father used to be, who are or would be on our side. Keep an eye out for them and look for opportunities to show them that you are what they should be. However, there are others that are beyond hope or trust. Avoid them and do your best to disengage from them. Try not to directly engage them. It makes our cause look to be on the wrong side".

The currier ship slipped into hyper space for the micro jump to link up with the waiting troop transport ship.

Sadly, there will be no more report of Harris and the rest of the party ... A few weeks ago I had to drop from playing ...Unless someone else left in the party wants to pick up the torch ...

My work went form a lot but doable to an insane level (it is so bad that I had to drop 2 weeks ago and this is honestly the first chance I have had to type this up ... today is the first day that my 8 hour work day isn't 10 hours with me teaching the cadets for at least 9 1/2 hours of that 10 hour day. It is amazing how mentally fatiguing teaching for 9+ hours is ... but I digress ...

I hated to have to drop from the game, but I couldn't play, do all I have to at work to help the cadets and help my boss fill all the tasking being forced on her by leadership, be involved with my girls and wife, being active in church, and the 100 other things that make up life and stay hooked in the game ...


SWR, as a note, I deleted or mis-saved your e-mails so couldn't e-mail you directly, sorry .... I've spent the last week looking for it in all the sub folders of my e-mail and still no joy. I want to reiterate, it was a blast being in your games & I enjoyed it .... thanks for running the games and making a fun world where someone as unlucky as Harris could still be a hero!

If there was any way I could have kept playing I would have but ... real life trumps fun life ...

Tis all good Les. My MS has been kicking my but for the last two months and I have done nothing. In fact I have not even posted in 2-3 weeks my weekly offerings in the G+ community.

Hopefully after Thanksgiving or Christmas you can come back, it not sooner. I hate to run the last part of the adventure without you, but it is doable. Once we get some closure on that adventure we can move on and inserting your character should not be an issue.

Sorry to hear about the work load. We have discussed your work and family obligations. Crazy! We have also talked about family first and roleplaying is a hobby. So again, no issues from me. When and if you are able to come back your more than welcome.

Hopefully we will be able to kick off Monday's game. I feel bad about not doing anything with little contact from me. All I can say in my defense is that MS really kicks your @$$. Some days are good, some are bad and sometimes you have a whole series of days (like I just went through) where its just constantly bad.
