Generates random modules to build a ship based on the random seed (name) you give the application.

Fun if you want to just look at some shapes. Seems to be a hash function, because there's no direct correlation I can find between the size of the seed and the resulting ship.

I suspect you could download the VRML and hand-remove modules you don't like, but I haven't played enough with it to check that.

Oh wow. Now THIS could be the start of something great. If you need a unique ship for a campaign, this looks like an easy place to start designing.

Before we take any of this too seriously, just remember that in the middle episode a little rubber puppet moves a spaceship with his mind.

It's neat, but any idea how you get/save the ship so you can use it later?

Note the 'save as VRML' in the bottom right corner.

Also, the same seed generates the same ship.

Or, you could just do a screen capture, of course, but then you're left with a static image.

I've been having fun this weekend starting with this thing. Cycled the page a lot until it generated something I liked and thought I could work with, saved the vrml, imported that to blender just to change it to a format I could import into Sketchup where I've been playing around with the results. Here's a few examples, but I've got a bunch more in various states of modification. I never have any luck getting images to show up in forum posts anywhere, but here's a few links to show...

Wow! You can import that file type into Blender (After enabling an import plugin) and re-export/modify it as an .stl for 3d printing!

That is way cool, Thanks for sharing.

Okay now this is awesome, it would be even cooler if the ships could be edited and modified and a color scheme add on.
