Shift sense you can detect but not understand comm signals.

Would a force user be able to use translate then?

Not without a cyborged receiver/decoder of some kind. At least that would by my ruling based on how it is worded.

Same here. Just like verpine might be able to detect a comm signal, they wouldn't be able to talk/understand what is in it.

What if they took a languages specialty so that they could decode the signal not unlile reading hex code or binary?

Per RAW, a certain number of successful heroic rolls causes the character to become fluent in the languaves being spoken.

Just a thought.

IMO they wouldn't even be able to decode it. Just cause you can hear it, does not mean you can try to crack it.

I was thinking about the translation power how it can translate more then just spoken. It can do body language and written. I am not saying it would be easy, more like heroic, but possible.

I was just seeing if others had the same thought or not.

It's theoretically possible, but I would make it a separate power, with Shift Senses and Translation as prerequisites.
