Yeah, he kind of fell out of the general discussion. Geez I miss Fluffy. _________________ __________________________________

This thread needs a bump. Just because. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

You can't just dump threads like this on new people. Now I have to read 11 pages to figure out what consensus was raised on using a rancor as a PC.

This was before my time, too. I've heard mention of Fluffy the Rancor before, and I finally decided to do some searching. And when I was done, I decided to share. Enjoy. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. The first few pages are fun, and then people start taking it WAY too seriously.
And no one, before I got bored reading pissing matches from 11 years ago, mentioned the context in which Fluffy would fit perfectly:
An all-Rancor adventuring party. With their own, very large, ship (perhaps piloted by a droid who speaks Rancor, and can take them where they want to go). _________________ *It isn't realism, it's verisimilitude... seeming to be true within the context of [Star Wars].

Yeah, we didn't have moderators back then. Pick back up on page 7 and it gets fun again.
For a long while Fluffy was a common reference to any player's idea that was just so ludicrous that it would not only break the game, but break any group cohesion. _________________ __________________________________

Can I modify my X-Wing so Fluffy can fly it? _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

I'm sure Fluffy can "modify" your X-Wing so nobody could fly it. _________________ __________________________________

Any starfighter big enough for Fluffy to fly qualifies as a capital ship. |

I picture a Corellian Corvette modified so the bridge is two decks high, with the bow hold converted into a captain's cabin...

Find a job.
Find a crew.
Eat the crew.
Find another crew.
Keep flying.
Then eat that second crew. _________________ *It isn't realism, it's verisimilitude... seeming to be true within the context of [Star Wars].

A blast helmet for Fluffy might be the entire cockpit assembly for an X-Wing, or perhaps an older cupola style Z-95 cockpit. |

I see what you did there with that Firefly/Serenity reference.
That show died too young. But at least it got a Grand Finale movie send-off.

I have no words for this, except to say that I want to finish playing Star Wars: Empire at War...but I'm way too busy with World of Warcraft. _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

Just repurchased the X-Wing and Tie Fighter flight sim games. I forgot how much I missed them. |
