I've been tinkering with a few different projects over the past couple of years, including transforming one of my campaigns into a full-fledged sourcebook (the Karlien Sector sourcebook, which I hope to release on Rancor Pit sometime in the future). I was interested in creating a different era altogether, one mostly untainted by EU works which new characters could go out and forge their own adventures.

The Destiny Era takes place 1,000 years after the Battle of Yavin, long after the troubles of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion and the One Sith. Much of the galaxy rests under the sphere of three factions: the Galactic Federation, the Galactic Empire, and the Outer Rim Alliance. Much like the Jedi of the Old Republic, the Jedi Order is responsible for the peacekeeping of the galaxy, but are politically removed from galactic powers that sought to oversee and control them.

Here are a few of the High Council members of this era:

Master Soro Skywalker, Grand Master: Descended from the founder of the revived Jedi Order, Luke Skywalker, Soro has held the leadership of Grand Master for the last four years. His balance of vision, wisdom, courage, and compassion is greatly respected by his peers and students in the order. While he feels it is the obligation of the Order to keep watch and protect the Galactic Federation, his view expands to all sentient beings in the galaxy, regardless of faction or homeworld.

Much like his ancestors, Master Skywalker is strong with the Force, but has adopted a minimalist approach to his use of it, strictly for knowledge and defense. He regarded as one of the greatest lightsaber specialists in the New Jedi Order, specializing in both the Soresu and Djem So forms. His green lightsaber blade is characteristic of the Skywalker lineage.

Master Rie Lin: An esteemed Yuuzhan Vong Jedi Master from Zonama Sekot, she was recommended for appointment to the High Council by Masters Skywalker and Horn. She embodies the ideals of the Redeemed Path of her species, seeing the Yuuzhan Vong’s acceptance back into the Force as not only a gift, but as a responsibility. She believes the Force is a path for forgiveness and redemption for all beings, the end resulting in serenity.

Much of her ability regarding Force technique is focused in purity and healing, detecting the light and dark sides of the Force as well as injuries, both physical and mental, in allies and opponent’s alike. Contrast to her beliefs, Rie Lin is a skilled Yuuzhan Warrior, and has constructed her lightsaber hilt from Yorik coral, while the blade itself matches her golden gaze. Her form is a mix of the Yuuzhan Vong warrior caste arts and the Juyo form.

Master Raven Cadric: Last in line of an ancient Jedi family whose history was lost since the time of Darth Revan and Darth Malak, Master Cadric was an orphan raised in the Jedi Temple of Ossus since his discovery on the streets of Ord Mantell some thirty years ago. He is calm and introspective, but gifted with a strong tactical and strategic mind, and is often on assignment as the Jedi Advisor to the Galactic Federation Defense Force. His prowess on the battlefield is legendary, but firmly entrenched in the Jedi code.

He specializes in the ability of battle meditation, able to bolster the focus and morale of his peers, subordinates, and allies. Unlike most of the Jedi Knights, Master Cadric is a master of the Jar’Kai form of lightsaber combat, capable of wielding his two blue lightsabers ambidextrously. When not on assignment with the GFDF or in the High Council chambers, he can be found in the training grounds, helping refine the skills of the senior padawans.

This all sounds extemely interesting!
Very cool idea, dhawk. The idea of a sourcebook for a campaign is every GM's dream right? Smile
I really like the era idea.
It's always a problem for me to stay within the continuity of the films and EU, but you've managed to solve that problem in a very cool way for your campaign.
Can't wait to read the sourcebook when it gets done.

Warriors: The Yuuzhan Vong are devout warriors. They gain +1D for every +2D to STR/DEX related skills at creation time only.
Redeemed: In recent centuries, the Yuuzhan Vong have somehow regained the ability to feel and/or manipulate the Force. In turn, unlike previous generations, they can also be sensed in the Force as any other alien species. Yuuzhan Vong believe this is gift of redemption from Zonama Sekot for their dedication towards renouncing their warlike ways.
Story Factors:
Self-Mutilation: Yuuzhan Vong of all types tend to mutilate their bodies as a sign of worship towards their gods. It is common to see Yuuzhan Vong with their bones broken in several places, ears missing, etc.
Distrust of Inorganic Technology: Even after nearly millennia of exposure to inorganic technology following the Yuuzhan Vong’s invasion of the galaxy, the Yuuzhan Vong at large distrust much of it. While no longer active seeking to destroy droids, items, and other inorganic items, many of their species still refuse to use it in their daily lives, instead turning to their own organic technology or available alternatives.
Castes: There are three known castes: the warriors, the priests, and the shapers. At present, the priest caste, reinforced by the Shamed Ones and the Redeemed Ones, is the highest of the three castes.

A distant descendant of the legendary Wedge Antilles, Wes Antilles has taken up his ancestor's path and was commissioned into the Galactic Federation Starfighter Corps. A talented starfighter pilot, the combination of years of faithful service, an unblemished record, and solid leadership and tactical skills over his career led Wes to be invited into the prestigious Rogue Squadron. Wes accepted this and has spent a number of years in the squadron, and now commands the squadron he always wanted to be in. Wes has considerable flight time in a number of fighters, but since his transition from the X-12 Novaburst to the more advanced X-14 Twin Suns, he swears by the newer Incom starfighter and truly has pushed the craft to its limits.

I prefer playing in the Classic Era, so this scenario is a little outside my realm of interest, but the stats look good, so keep up the good work.

Confirmed crmcneill. In this era, after several hundred years of exile on Zonama Sekot, the Yuuzhan Vong have begun to re-establish a connection with the Force. Not all of the Vong have regained this ability, but those who have become Force-sensitive are referred to as the Redeemed by their society at large. There's no real explanation as to why this has happened, but it has been treated largely as a gift, albeit one with great responsibility.

My inspiration for this was the treatment of the Yuuzhan Vong in the Legacy series, when Cade met one of the shapers and a couple of warriors on Ossus. The Vong appeared to work close with the Jedi during the ill-fated terraforming plan, and even though Kol Skywalker's defense of them resulted in the Jedi's fall-out with both the Galactic Alliance and the Empire, the Yuuzhan Vong never forgot what Kol did for them.

The way I saw it, if the Sith could incorporate Yorik Coral into their lightsaber construction and take inspiration from Vong War's ruthlessness, I could see the Vong adapting some of the Jedi and/or Sith's principles. The New Jedi Order is treated much like the red-headed step-child of the EU, but Legacy made it believable to me, much more than the actual NJO book series did anyway.

I greatly appreciate the compliments you've all given. It means a lot to me, especially since this is one of my favorite Star Wars-related projects.
