I just use a force power tree that branches off of enhance attribute.

For single action leaps, the Jedi can add his control skill dice to his jumping roll.

Burst of speed could work in a similar way: the Jedi's move increases by +1 for each die he has in control.

I'll be posting up my force powers house rules in the near future.

If the 1E/2E Conversion of Move Dice to Space is any indicator, 1D equals a +2 to Move.

As to the original question, I would say no. What is being discussed is not really energy. It is momentum. Telekenesis to catch/hold the character's weight would be more appropriate.

While it is true our physcs describes momentum as energy, that's just a failure of language, not reality. We also call a weight not moving at a height "potential energy", but this is also a misnomer. It should be called potential momentum.

So, I would say no.
