Ok in our game one of the guys asked me if drawing your weapon was a full action or a free action. I dumbly looked at him and said "I'm not sure." So I made a judgement call and said it was an action. -1D.
Now I couldn't find it anywhere. So I ask you all in your wisdom. Wink What is it? Is there a comprehensive list of Free actions and full actions etc? Where is it? I know the group I play with looks here sometimes so I hope they ask some questions too.

I'm pretty sure drawing you weapon is an action, as is setting blasters for stun. I'm sure it's in the rulebook somewhere... let me see.

Page 78 of 2nd Ed RE has some free actions, non-roll actions and full actions. I can't find where I read about drawing and setting for stun, but I'm darn sure about it, trust me.

Yep!

Drawing your weapon is a Full Action!

Gry is right!

My question is, how many free actions do you give your players and when can they use them?

Peace.

No, not a Full Action, just an action. Full Actions are those that take up the entire round and don't let you do anything else, like a Full Dodge. You can draw you weapon and fire it at -1D in the same round.

As for free-actions, you just have to use common sense. Just think what is possible to do in 5 seconds. Sometimes my players will start talking to each other during a fire-fight (free action), deciding on a strategy, and I will be always interrupting them mid-sentence to say "hey, wait there, that's enough for one round, now let's see if this blaster bolt has your name on it, then you can't go on yapping".

Wait. You mean you don't let your players recite the entire script of Hamlet as they fire a shot? Wink

Yep!

Gry is right again.

(How can you really trust advice from a guy with the name Stule anyway.)

Drawing a weapon is 1 action (-1D).

And I took your advice Gry, the other night in a game, my players decided to start talking for 10 minutes at the Beggining of the firefight on their stratedgy.

When they were ready, they looked up to discover they were surrounded.

Laughing

Peace.
