Everything Star Wars up to 77% off their usual price on GOG.com - comes with DOSBox to emulate the software (and its properly tweaked 97% of the time.) Keep an eye on the minimum system requirements in any case.

The sale will last from today (5/2) until 5/11. (Yes, this is completely legal. Good Old Games is very above board.)

I nabbed TIE Fighter and three of the Dark Forces games for under $10.

Hm.. I have been waiting for some of the older SW games to come back on sale at Gog..
Guess now seems to be the time to get them.

I got the whole X-Wing and TIE Fighter series from GOG some time ago, and I was not disappointed.

Well, after a slight issue with my credit card going through (Damn NFCU and their fraud protection.) i eventually purchased Xwing classic, Tie classic and Xwing vs tie. BUT i didn't realize that the Xwing game it has 3 different versions, same with Tie fighter...
So later today, i will be on my desktop installing them all..

Has anyone played Starwars-starfighter, or Rebellion? If so, are either any good?

Each one is a slightly different experience, starting from the diskette version to the Collector's CD-ROM.

Starfighter isn't bad. Its very "arcade-y" and has some interesting missions in it - if I remember correctly, it came out between Episode I and II so its a little TPM-centric (I think the last mission is flying through a Trade Federation capital ship and shooting at a bounty hunter?).

Rebellion I owned but never liked.

So is the latter of the 3 (the more recent collecters version) any better or worse than the original collectors version?

Theres an update in the graphic bitmaps (same textures as original, just new skins) and they removed the MIDI score and put in a long suite of the original trilogy Star Wars score. I don't think they did anything with gameplay.
