Considering a few starfighter scale ships can be designed to hammer out 15d on a regular basis, than just switch to concentrated constant fire using all guns and... uhg.

I go with the 2nd Edition Die Caps. Unless it is a capital ship with high end weaponry, a StarFighter or lower scale ship won't even make a scratch.
