Got this question from the holonet... In your opinions, who would have access to them?

Exactly how much data could someone get?

How much data does it hold?

According to the book for Episode 3, before Order 66, only Jedi Masters had access to the Archives.

I think only Jedi Masters can access the Jedi archives.

I don't know how much information is contained in them, but in episode two, Obi-Wan tried to identify a Kamino saber dart there. Although he was not successful, it shows the archive contains mundane information. The comment by the librarian ("If an item is not contained in our records, it does not exist."), while obviously not literally true, suggests the archive is very complete.

Chello!

I don't know, Volar, I was watching Ep 2 with my son today and I saw quite a few Padawan running around in there.

Maybe there's a secret level where restricted access info is kept. Sorta like the Secret Archives of the Vatican. And, yes, it's actually called the Secret Archives.....

I would assign the Jedi Archives a D code for various knowledge skills (much like a computer as represented in Cracken's Rebel Field Guide). When someone consulted the archives, set a difficulty for the information, select the appropriate skill, and roll the Archives Die code. A successful roll indicates how much information the Archives contain.

You could also just assign a general die pool for the archive as Kowledge 10D for example.

This is how I handle Archives, libraries, or even books.
