That's one race never published. There are no official stats for it, nor is there a name for the race.

As far as I know, there is no official answer to this question... Embarassed

(and the unofficial answer may be "whill" for the name of the species)

He is a mysterious Jedi Master. And memeber of a mysterious race. And therefore in KOTOR there had to be a Yoda-like Jedi Master / Head of Enclave. Rolling Eyes

You're going to have to make them up if as a GM you decide to allow it to be a playable race. Lucasfilm always kept that as an unpublishable subject, they didn't want it stated out. Reasonably, if it was stated it would be hard to find a single group that didn't have at least one of yoda's race.

My suggestion is depending on the seriousness of your campaign, assign stats. It can range from sitting down and stating it all out (serious) to deciding that yoda and his race are just really old ewoks who lost their fur (non-serious campaign). Just realize the second you let one person play it, everyone in the group will eventually want their turn to play the race.

Co-sign.

Whill would be the most usable answer in RPG scenerio. But I would make that, even in game terms, the 'basic' rendering or understanding of the species name...or a common name referred to the species. The species street name, if you will. I wouldn't imagine Yoda not telling someone what he was if asked...that doesn't seem to fit, so I wouldn't make it the mystery in the RPG world that it is in movie fandom. Most people are unaware for sure, but it isn't like Yoda is an unknown in the galaxy...so I would call him a whill for a common street name for his species. Bottom line:

It matters not. Very Happy

The strait answer anything relating to yoda's race, home planet, culture, ect was and is off limits by Lucasfilm. Only Lucas can divulge that stuff, and he isn't doing so. No novel, comic, video game, RPG, or EU source is allowed to touch yoda's race. The closest they get is using yoda clones but not explaning anything else.

Short answer, make up a planet, it probably isn't one of the charted official ones since they can't declare a planet of origin for the race. Like Trusty said, it isn't the great secret in the galaxy it is in the EU world; but it still isn't common knowledge.

Heck, I'd go so far as to to say it isn't even uncommon knowledge. There has only ever been one other of Yodas race, and that was Yaddle. Like Endwyn said, if you want anything on Yoda's race, you'll have to make it up. One thing that dhould be noted is that it is a very long lived race. It totally contridicts the races size. Normally small races have a short life span, and larger races (Wookiees, Hutts) have the longer life span.

There was also Master Van Dar (this is how it spells?) in Kotor at the Old Republic time. It appears that a civilization with few beings exist in this place. Strong in the force and weak with languages.

Off the subject: The racial lifespan is opposite...Don't large dogs live shorter life spans then small dogs? Those damn mini poodles never die! Twisted Evil

On the subject: Why is it that information was never talked about? Is it just one of those mysteries? Or did Lucas just forget? I guess if I ever meet Lucas face to face the first thing I'll do is complain about Ep 1, then ask him what race Yoda is. If I ever find out what it is...You guys will be the first to know.

Yoda is meant to be one of those mysteries. He's been asked many times, and won't give out any info.
