Hmm..what are the odds that you can find a ship from that era somewhere in the 'verse with it's spaceframe still spaceworthy and solid?
Vacuum is a good preservative. As long as micrometeorites hasn't holed the ship too badly, and whatever lubricants needed are replaced, it could be made workable again.

These are awesome!

I'm just now stumbling onto this thread, so forgive me for coming in blind.

Not having played TOR (or KOTOR), I know little of this era, but I'm interesting in using the Defender-class as a PC ship for my Rebellion-era characters (found adrift in space for all these years).

I've got the rough floorplan available online, but in doing some basic calcs I'm getting nowhere near the 36m referenced here - do you have a good source for that figure? I'm curious, as the floorplan and scaling will be very important for my campaign.

You've got it listed at 36m (2m longer than a YT-1300). Wookiepedia has it around 90m (again, unsure where that scaling comes from). Based on some VERY approximate scales based on the floorplans from the game and the floorplan of a YT-1300, I come to around 78m in total length. Of course, that's based on the sometime-ridiculous scaling that happens in games, MMOs in particular. Given that, you could probably bring it down to about 64m (just eyeballing the floorplan here) before people will have a hard time getting in and out of chairs.

Update!

Based on more specific scale measurements, I come to 61.6m for the Defender class, based on a YT-1300 at 34.7m.

Just in case anyone's curious!

I'd be happy to do deckplans if anyone else is interested.

Hehe... glad you liked my slightly nerfed versions above I did as Falcon 79 'fore I was inactive and had to replace my E-Mail account due to hacking......and forgot my pass word..... if you can get correct measurements (or at least more sensible ones) do so, and good. 36 meters may be a typo, not sure though, I may of just guessed, I "THINK" I was looking at 46 or 56 Meters but don't remember. Very Happy

I stat'd the Fury Interceptor a while back, just for fun. Then I found this thread (I've been a lurker for a while). So I went back and started researching only the Fury... I found a lot of conflicting info on it. So I'm undecided until somebody puts out a fan-made sourcebook for TOR that looks really good.

I think the only way to really get a good grasp would be to compare some stock images and then make a personal decision on size.

Welcome to the Pit, crazydanny!

I took a look around your website a bit, and it's quite impressive! Hope to have you jump in and get involved in some discussions here, as we'd love to get your input! Smile

Thanks DougRed4... My close friend and GM/Co-Creator have been creating our Star Wars Universe for quite a while now, dating back to the 90's.

Getting back to the Fury/Defender/etc., if you go off of in-game perspectives, these ships can't possibly be as big as their stats list on Wookieepedia. The Defender is listed as 100 meters... While it's big, I'd say that when your character is standing next to it, there's no way it's that much bigger than say, the Falcon. So, for the Fury and the Defender, I'd say go with your gut and peg them around the above stats.

You make a good point, and it's a reminder to us all that Wookieepedia is 'unofficial'. I've seen a number of things that are contradictory on it, compared to other sources.
