I really like the Wretched Hives-book, I've had some good ideas come out of the locations there. Also, I really like that they use locations that are used in other supplements, for instance there is a nightclub on the planet Adarlon - which is mentioned in the campaign-section of Tramp Freighters.

These days I don't have time to do as much prepwork as I used to, so to have a couple of nicely fleshed out locations is great.

Oh, I forgot about Cracken's Rebel Field Guide! That was a big hook for me. LOVE the schematic art in that one, plus Cracken's running commentary.

I continue to use "TLA" and "ETLA" on a frequent basis at work, especially with IT folk. "This SOW has too many TLAs in it."

A minor victory: I was able to get a boxed DarkStryder Campaign set on Ebay for under $30 in very good shape.

The caveat was that it was missing three of the stat cards. That irks me a bit but to be honest, I probably was missing a few of those cards before my first set went missing about 15 years ago.

I think I got mine for a little cheaper than that missing the box and maps.

Now here's an uncomfortable question to ask: How much are you willing to pay for some of these books? I ask because the handful that I really want - like Platt's Smuggler's Guide - go for around $50, and ... its hard to justify that amount of cash for a book thats not gonna get any use other than my reading it.

I live near a Half Price Books and check about once a week. I just picked up Platte's smugglers guide for $12. The most I paid for a book was the Movie Trilogy special edition at about $25. I would not spend over cover price unless it was exceptionally rare and or in excellent condition. And even then I would still not exceed 150% cover price.

Sounds like a good score for decent money. Platt's for $14 is especially good.

Over the past two years I have picked up probably 30 books.

I always loved the 13 Chicken Alarm. Twisted Evil

My must-have list:
  • GM Screen (Revised)
  • GG4 Alien Races
  • Tales of the Jedi Sourcebook
  • Imperial Sourcebook
  • GG9 Fragments from the Rim

I think the most I ever paid was $45 for Alien Encounters, but it was the last one to complete my collection.
