The issue is that we live in a world where everyone think someone else needs to be pleased.
We live in a world where it is fashion to be offended.

Lets look at what Disney have done with star wars.

- They have fronted THE NEW, THE FIRST, THE ONLY...female so and so.
It is nothing wrong with a female hero, not a female quasi luke, but it has to fit the narrative and not be just because.

LBGT, again something fronted and made into a social and political aspect, and again THE NEW THE FIRST.....while in the old legends and canon this was simply there.

It is simply 100% irrelevant if the stormtrooper on the left is gay or not....we don see him get it on, we see him flash across the screen and die.

Seeing a huge franchise, maybe THE LARGEST, and a potential fan base they as Disney now very well , and know what they want from Disney-Disney, these are young girls.

Again this is great, but turned out to be done the wrong way.

Let's use the upcoming Han Solo movie for this one.

I don't call 21 jump street a cop or detective movie, but a "high school movie" with cops in it.
It is to semi-retarded and childish humor like american pie, and other so called movies like that. This not to recognize there are some awesome movies in the "high school" genre.

This what Disney did, they looked at how do we make Han solo a high school hunk, have the girls look at him like they do superman in louis and clark, and not anything superman.

This eventually turned total disaster, as the script did not allow for such "teen idol" thing, as this is not within star wars.....so they reshot 4/5 of the movie.

Kathleen Kennedy have stated " girls don't identify with luke"
Again replacing a long developed character with an undeveloped one...to push an agenda.

I suspect most girls that like movies, and star wars are intelligent enough to like it for what it is and feel that disney is actually discriminating against them....claimeing they are semi dumb-blond and only understands high school drama

And that's part of my issue with this whole thing. It does (to me) seem like they are pushing an agenda..

I can not imagine anyone even fanatics, would be unable to watch a movie or enjoy it if they don't know that extra number 456 is gay.

I like Rey, I find her a bit overly powerful, but again this is since no girls in the world have ever liked luke, they all commit suicide seeing him.

I suspect Disney is doing this, or was, with the mindset it is better to have these social political things in there and it fails and fails the franchise, than to not have it and be blamed for not caring about group 1223838383888883838 very specific agenda.

We had dozens of strong females, not being a noble like leia.
Mara Jade was a DARK KILLER and assassin.
There were others, some have survived name wise and become canon.

I doubt we see anyone as systematic evil as madame Issard.....again a super strong female antagonist, more so that that phasme joke.

Heroes we can look to several in the rebel alliance, Ors is one.

So I feel that Disney are spitting on the fans, saying because we don't know ANYTHING about star wars, then the fans of 40+ years can't remember.

Then this so called advisor says that it is a long time since the ast movie.....people forget.
Let make a remake....
they look at this and see it is too soon....
the quasi-creative minds then are stuck with something "relaunched" rather than go with what actually works and drives the fan base.

We also have to look outside both disney and the fans, think if there was no "black" finn, and no "new female" rey......
Regardless of the movie quality, the other media critics would go ape on how such a huge franchise don't refelct the inner emotiones of todays left handed red haired transgender only every monday named sarah or anton...and then be accused of not considering these groups.

If it is important I suggest the next antology movie be hard core LGBT porn, with the....here.it is important to you MORE than story and how well they shoot or fly so this is what is left, enjoy and accept or be forever silent

If this thread has been turned into a political topic about how the sequel trilogy is being influenced by the culture wars, shouldn't this thread be moved to a different section of the forum?

I thought we were talking about D6 rules here.

Capital Ships being able to be piloted well enough to go to hyperspace, by only 1 person.
Mind you it seemed to me the ship did have an AI of sorts, also I think new to D6.

starkiller base. A planet capable of hyperspace travel, I think is new to D6. at least in scale.

maybe some ship, weapon and other stats needs a nerfing...........

Indeed, we were.

No, not just another section of the forum. Move that discussion to a completely other website. Mamatried (and everyone), we will not tolerate any discussions of Star Was having a "political agenda" because that is talking about real world socio-politics which is strictly forbidden here. Please familiarize yourself with the posting guidelines. If you have any honest questions for clarification on the guidelines, you can ask them there. If you want to express disagreements to those or argue about them, you can PM that to me, but it would really be best to just let it go.

I won't express whether I agree or disagree with your statements because that would be me participating in the real-world political discussion. I am aware that we have users here from many different places on the political spectrum and we are all here to get along in peace because we love Star Wars and the RPG. Please, just don't even go there. Thank you.

Big time. And, I like how it was portrayed, too. Big boom. The bowcaster is a 4D weapon. Ever had player, running a Wookiee with STR 5D or more, say something like, "Why would I ever use a weapon like this? I can hit harder than this thing!"

Maybe the Bowcaster was underpowered in the game, but I think that also speaks to an inherent flaw in the game system...

I personally solved this by just letting the damage dice from the bowcaster explode like a wild die, but otherwise remaining the same.

The Wild Die for bowcaster and brawling damage already explode. Do you mean for bowcaster damage, every die is a wild die instead of only one wild die?

That's a pretty good idea!

But, I wouldn't agree that the bowcaster is under--powered. Maybe Chewbacca, being the hero that he is, has used his Technical skills to increase damage on his personal weapon. Maybe base bowcasters are 4D weapons. 4D is certainly a lot of punch against an average STR 2D human. It can send 'em flying. And, wooks are tough SOBs.

GG1 has Chewie's bowcaster at 4D damage, though. Crying or Very sad

I think the problem arose once the powers that be started tinkering with the game. Once Character Points are introduced, then 4D damage isn't that powerful all of a sudden--because you can immediately add several CPs to a defense throw.

Go First Edition style, and the bowcaster is still a formidable weapon as written. Heck, even Han Solo only has STR 3D in GG1. That bowcaster would tear him up.

EDIT: The special damage rule from the SpecOps book can make most weapons damn scary. IIRC, a character can take 1D or 2D from his attack (or...maybe there's no limit on it...I forget) roll. If the shot is successful, the same number of dice can be added to damage.

Which means, the closer an adversary is to you with a blaster, the more dangerous he truly is.

Chewie's Bowcaster 9D skill, taking 2D, would still leave 7D for attack, and if a hit is scored, the bowcaster does 6D damage.

Bowcaster damage doesn't explode, by the rules. The Wild Die only applies to skill and attribute rolls, not damage rolls.

Hmm... I can see how you can come to that conclusion based on this paragraph on page 74 in the R&E:

Quote:
Whenever a character makes a skill or attribute die roll, the player must choose one die of a different color to be the character's wild die (this is not an extra die; it's just a different color).

The lack of mention would make it seem that it is not included in damage or defense. But later in the right hand column of the same page it says:

Quote:
The wild die rule counts for all rolls in the game, including skill and attribute checks, weapon damage, and rolling Perception for initiative.

Stock Bowcaster may very well fit with 4D
I assume someone with Chewie's tech skills would have "tuned" his weapon.
Now a 4D+2 would imo appear more powerful than a 5D, this due to the always higher minimum damage.
