Howdy all!

A week from this Saturday, I'll be DMing a game of WEG Star Wars for the first time in almost 20 years. I'm going to be rusty as heck and none of the players have ever done a pen and paper RPG before (though they have some rough idea of what it involves).

Any suggestions for a good opening adventure thats not too convoluted? I had a rough idea about how to bring everyone together but I want to see what the "zero session" shakes out first. But I'd also like to use something "in the book" while I get my balance back to DMing.

Tons of suggestions. If you want, another avenue for you to explore is the G+ community Star Wars D6 and the Discord server Star Wars D6.

I like New Recruits and Rebel Guns for a starter adventure. It gives the players a ship, and has a decent mix of action and potential for good RP.

I usually find a one-shot with pregens which already have a programmed background, personality and attachments to other characters to be the best introduction with new players.

If you're looking for a published first adventure, Tatooine Manhunt is a solid choice. Familiar turf and familiar-looking characters should make everyone more at ease.

It's one adventure in the Instant Adventures book. I'd actually forgotten about that one. There are some great ideas in it.

I've been circling that book for a while now but can't ever seem to find it below $30.

It depends on what you're looking for. If you're doing a character creation night, I often to a "cantina shoot-out" situation, where they have to leave the establishment and make it to their ship. That's only if you want to run about an hour for people to get the feel for the characters and the system.

If you're looking for a full-length adventure, then I'd to Pirates of Praxiar. It's the adventure in the R&E rulebook, and I've run it several times. At least two or three times with brand new players for the first or second session.

Before we take any of this too seriously, just remember that in the middle episode a little rubber puppet moves a spaceship with his mind.
