This thread has given me a good idea of how combat works (initiative and actions). But how exactly does damage work? I know that damage is rolled based on the weapon (with strength added in for melee attacks), and that can be resisted with a Strength or Stamina roll, but actually happens after the rolls?

The Damage Rolls and the Strength to Resist damage Rolls are compared, and then a wound result is determined according to the Damage Summary chart.

Hi everyone,

just a quick question. (1st edition rules)

How many grenades would you realistically allow per character?

and how many med packs?

My players are generally cool but sometimes they suffer from the old... let's be mega prepared! and me being a bit of a noob don't really know sometimes what to answer.

There are some old threads on the topic around here: Encumbrance and Strength, and Encumbrance. Suggestions that are applicable to any edition of WEG Star Wars.

Thank you!

Edit: no wonder why I couldn't find a suitable thread before having to post the question... I've just learnt what the word Encumbrance means (English is not my first language)

Hi all,

I have quite an exciting Hand to Hand combat scene coming up in my campaign but have some questions with being wounded and falling prone that I'd like to clarify if possible:

1st ed. hand to hand.... if you are wounded, you fall prone.
In this example this new combat round starts with the enemy standing trying to hit the wounded PC that is on the floor.

They are using weapons with a +10 difficulty to use.

Say the enemy controlled by the DM goes first.

DM would need 10 + 5 (for being prone) to hit the PC right?

On top of that the PC declares Melee Parry.

So, does the PC has a -1D to his Melee Parry for being prone (apart from other modifiers like the -1D for being wounded...)?

Is that correct?
