Truly amazing work. I thought they were physical studio-grade models. Thanks for the stats, CRMcNeill!

I've forgotten - does Howard Day use Ansel's model frames for his animations?

It would seem so. The TIE Mauler is most definitely a Fractal creation.

Those are all nice, but Fractalsponge really outdid himself with the BFF-1. He made a bulk freighter look awesome.

Just repurchased the X-Wing and Tie Fighter flight sim games. I forgot how much I missed them.

I made the remark on Fractal's page that the only thing Dark Horse Comics was good for is providing Fractalsponge with an endless string of opportunities to prove that you actually can polish a turd.

Yeah, and all these ships come from the fact that a comic book artist would have a very difficult time trying to freehand redraw the same ship from multiple angles so it was easiest to not even try and just keep drawing different ships. I really don't like the DE artist but I love Fractal's stuff.

I was confused by this ship at first, but a few pictures in it looked familar. Never had seem the base ship without the cargo modules!

Yeah, that threw me for a loop too when I first looked at it.

Some more Fractal updates...

Dart-Class Gunship - In the same size range as the Corellian Gunship. I doubt I'll be stating this one, but if any of you have a mind to...

Star Galleon - Fractal redid this as an armed transport, getting rid of the ejectable cargo bay.

Allegiance-Class Heavy Star Destroyer (Updated from an earlier version)

Bellator-Class Star Dreadnought (Updated from an earlier version)

Tyrant-Class Missile Cruiser - a 4+ kilometer beast built around a massive central missile launch system.

TIE Fighter Hangar Rack System, complete with an animation showing how it works.

Hey, Dredwulf60, check out Fractal's latest project. It's a reimagining of the Basilisk War Droid as... well, a Sky Walker (you'll see what I mean).

Replying from here.

This wasn't a stat request, so I replied in the Scale System topic.

For an actual stat request; The Assertor.

Oddly enough, the closest thing to an actual Assertor (at least as far as I can tell from Fractalsponge's comments on the project) is the Sovereign. He pictures the Executor as something of a fast carrier/dreadnought, while the Assertor is slower, but equipped with an axial superlaser. However, it's obviously not the Eclipse.

Let me think about it; I'm not hugely inspired to write up stats for the massive ships, because they're practically useless in the game for anything except making characters run the other way.

EDIT: evilnerf posted a stat for the Assertor earlier in this topic, but it's based off the FFG stats, which Fractalsponge (the creator of the Assertor) has disavowed.

Fair enough. I like 'em as big set pieces and thought experiments, maybe when giving characters access to a whole fleet or something in hypothetical terms, but yeah they're basically like Cain from Vampire: The Masquerade or the Lady of Pain in starship form from an actual play perspective.

I suppose for more reasonably-sized options;
  • The Leviathan-type interdictor ship from Revan's Sith Empire.
  • The Starhawk, which I think you've mentioned wanting to stat before.

In rough terms, if I were to stat an Assertor, a minimum effort version would be to take my version of the Executor, chop the length to 15km, reduce the transport capacity by 50% and give it the Sovereign's superlaser.

If I were to do that, I'd just throw the Sovereign out entirely; with an Assertor written along the lines of Fractalsponge's description, there would be no need for the Sovereign anyway.
