Seconded. Most of us play games like this to escape from real-world horrors like that. That's absolutely not something that a GM should simply declare as part of someone else's PC, and should be dealt with carefully even if the player decides to include it as part of the PCs background.

Thirded. I always hated GMs who never understood that running an RPG is a responsibility that has to be taken seriously if and when potentially traumatic issues like these come up. A GM who trolls his own players is an unworthy GM.

Unworthy GM? Pfft. He's an unworthy piece of bantha poodu human being. Think about it. He was forcing a character background element on a player against her will, and that background element just happened to be her character being sexually assaulted. I'd be seriously concerned that the GM may be a rapist himself, or at least a potential rapist with rapist fantasies.

Hey, why don't we all just bash the hell out of that DM, when not one of us knows the reason for why he did what he did..

He declared that a female player's PC was repeatedly raped.

WTF is a legitimate justification for this?

Discussing rape, even fictional rape, is not something we need to see on this forum.

I am very disturbed to read this. There are NO possible acceptable reasons to ever do that in any situation.

In general GMs shouldn't even mandate character background elements to a player. They should all be agreed upon before the PC begins play, and the GM shouldn't just handwave some traumatic element into a PC's background like that afterwards.

A male told a female her female character was raped by men. Like I already said, "Think about it. He was forcing a character background element on a player against her will, and that background element just happened to be her character being sexually assaulted. I'd be seriously concerned that the GM may be a rapist himself, or at least a potential rapist with rapist fantasies."

That DM, whomever he is, is being rightfully bashed for this unacceptable gaming behavior. The DM was engaging in psychological abuse. The Rancor Pit Registration Agreement Terms say, "You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented..." material. This isn't even my rule. This is php's rule for even using their software on this website. Defending psychological abuse is not acceptable.

It is best for this thread to just be closed.
