Maybe the scientist can get burned out and just be working on his novel and it can become a story within a story.

What Star Wars scientist isn't working on a superweapon?

https://swtor.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Superweapons

They had several of them in SWTOR, you might be able to find some of them useful for inspiration.

Superweaponry does seem like a huge field of science in Star Wars.

LOL, I love it.

That and bail bond enforcement, mafia debt collections, and whatever else keeps half the population employed as bounty hunters.

I’m thinking about doing something related to Hyperspace (but not Hypergates). What science can my scientist study about Hyperspace before he’s called away to deal with the supermassive black hole?

I have proposed elsewhere the idea of what we know in the real world as "dark matter" actually being Hypermatter, as in, the reason we can only detect dark matter by its gravitational effects is because the matter is in hyperspace, not in realspace.

Because hypermatter is listed as a fuel for capital ships in the Incredible Cross-Section books, it opens the door to hypermatter being a valuable commodity used to power reactors, which leads in turn to the possibility of massive industries built around the harvesting, refining and transportation of hypermatter.

Whill theorized that hypermatter in sufficient concentrations to be worth mining and refining would only be found in high gravity locations...

Such as supermassive black holes...

Perhaps your scientist is the SWU equivalent of a modern petro-chemical engineer, except that instead of working on petroleum products from the oil industry, he studies hypermatter for the hypermatter mining industry.

I decided that I’m going to have my scientist study an astrological body BUT it’s something that we haven’t identified in the real world. I’m no good at physics so I don’t know what kind of new astrological body I can make up. Does anybody have ideas for a fictional celestial body? Like something in the class of a quasar or a pulsar or a black hole

This is my last post on this thread. I’m doing a last round on all the forums I posted on.

I’m looking for something highly advanced.

Ok my scientist is studying sub-Hyperspace, the dimension in which quintessence can be turned into Phantom Energy and then travel to destroy star systems in real time. This is how Starkiller Base fires it’s weapon after draining a sun. (I’m sure Disney will explore it more in due time). However, in the mean time; I wonder what other things my scientist can study about it. Applications I’ve considered would be a sub-hyperdrive which would allow for instantaneous travel like Star Trek: Discovery’s Spore Drive. It also could be used for instant communications. Good stuff but too much of a gamechanger to tinker with. What else could my scientist be studying about sub-hyperspace?

Why not just call it Subspace, and finally flesh out a concept that almost no one in the SWU has touched on? Subspace is mentioned in passing in the WEG books but never really defined.

Subspace, Otherspace, Thirdspace, lots of options to choose from, depending on what you're looking for.

I’m going about this all wrong. I need an advanced but totally BORING detail intensive thing for my scientist to be studying. I WANT to start my story and this detail is unimportant. Does anyone have some science gooblegook that sounds coherent that I can use?
