Here's what I've got as a rough draft, let me know what you think.

Run ship design as a dice buy system, 1D paid for each 1D used on the ship. This can be broken into pips. You can give your players a dice amount for them to build their own ship, or to give yourself a rough idea of how many dice to limit yourself to when designing a ship for your players.

- Each die of Maneuverability = 1D
- Each point of Move/Space = 1D
- Life support for ten people = 1D, 3 people per pip
- 1D of Hull or Shields = 1D
- 6D of Sensors = 1D, 2D of Sensors per pip
- 1D of damage = 1D
- 100 tons of cargo = 1D, 1 pip = 30 tons
- Hyperdrive x2 = 1D, Hyperdrive x1 = 2D, etc


Let's take a look at the 2 stock freighters in 2E R&E

YT-1300 freighter = 16D

Damage = 4D
Sensors = 1D
Hull = 4D
Shields =0D
Maneuverability = 0D
Life Support = 1D
Cargo = 1D
Hyperdrive = 1D
Space = 4D

Ghtroc 720 = 17D+2

Damage = 4D
Sensors = 1D+1
Hull = 3D+2
Shields =1D
Maneuverability = 1D
Life Support = 1D+1
Cargo = 1D+1
Hyperdrive = 1D
Space = 3D


So from this we can surmise that a starting ship should have 15-20D in stats.

The A-Wing = 30D

Damage = 7D (2D for the targeting jammer)
Sensors = 1D+1
Hull = 2D+2
Shields =1D
Maneuverability = 4D
Life Support = 0D
Cargo = 0D
Hyperdrive = 2D
Space = 12D


The B-Wing = 37D+2

Damage = 23D
Sensors = 1D+1
Hull = 3D
Shields =2D
Maneuverability = 1D+1
Life Support = 0D
Cargo = 0D
Hyperdrive = 1D
Space = 6D


By comparison, the TIE/In in 2E R&E is only 20D, most of that is in Space and Maneuverability.
