I'm still chuckling over Lando Lakes. _________________ __________________________________

I have to say, while I despised TLJ as a whole, that lightsaber battle with Kylo at the end was the best part of the film. Admittedly a low bar, but... _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. I submit to you that to qualify as a "battle", there would have had to have at least been lightsabers clashing. There wasn't even a psychosomatic battle like the remote mind meld skirmishes that Rey and Ren had in TRoS. What we saw at the end of TLJ was Luke's projection dodging Kylo's attacks, until Kylo finally ran his lightsaber harmlessly through projecto-Luke revealing that he wasn't even there. So lame. It was like the Buck Rogers space vampire came and sucked all possible sense of drama from Johnson's mind when he was writing that lightsaber "battle". I think the best part of the film was probably the space battle at the beginning, as cornball as it was. The rest of the film was downhill from there. _________________ *

This is what happens to the leadership of banks and movie franchises that are too big to fail. Introducing so many new characters should have been an obvious recipe for disaster. |

I have to say, I never thought I'd see the day when you were more pessimistic about the Disney films than me. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. I had to post this in light of the recent SW fan encounters with what I'll call zealots in our fandom. This barely humorous meme hits the nail on the head because these zealots act like Hayden Christiansen playing whiny, angry Anakin in this scene. It's not so funny that these fans who love all movies equally can be so negative against everyone who doesn't.
I think these zealots are broken fans who like all the movies but reached a breaking point with film bashing that they angrily lash out at the slightest perceived criticism of any Disney Star Wars films, which they then exaggerate into full-on hatred towards all Disney SW films. I do not remember this phenomena quite to the same extreme occurring back with classic vs. prequels. Sadly I think it's the bashers of the PT and Disney, or even just Disney, that created these zealots, fueling their feverous fanaticism for all Stars films equally as a defense mechanism of some kind. Of course two wrongs don't make a right and the zealots are still responsible for their own actions. The bashers and zealots both tend to have very black-and-white thinking.
I saw a zealot proclaim that anyone who expresses displeasure of any Disney Star Wars films is not a true fan of the WEG SW game or franchise. He expressed that he was morally superior and non-zealots should feel bad for their moral inferiority. He was truly delusional, insisting someone's little joke about a subset of Disney films was a "deluge" of criticism about all Disney films, even when it was pointed out to him in simple, nonaggressive terms that wasn't the case.
