I think I got starfighter combat more or less figured out. You make one attack per action and roll for damage once (with weapons being always assumed to be fire linked).

But now here comes out friendly neighborhood Star Destroyer that parks itself right between four Rebel ships and starts firing from it's 120 turbolasers and ion canons.
I am not going to make 120 attack rolls every round.

What do you do to actually run space battles in practice? You could just firelink everything and get down to 7 attack rolls, but this would massively decrease the damage output.
20 turbolasers single are 20*5D (average 350). 20 turbolasers firelinked are 8D+2 (average 30). That would be nonsensical.

Hit the Search Button above and enter the following:
    Capital AND Ship AND Combat
This has been covered in extreme detail quite recently.

However, the tl;dr version is that Capital Ship weapons Coordinate, rather than rolling individually. Calculate the number of guns firing at each target, generate a Coordination bonus, and then make a single modified attack roll.

I have a very simple starship combat houserule.

in starfighter ws starfighter I simply do this as character vs character, each starfighter is one character has one acation before MAP etc. just like ground combat, though I seldom see cover though it is a factor sometime, like in asteroid fields.

with capital ship I do the same thing.

my ship's attack with ONE weapon systems vs other shisp counter measures, shield and hull etc.

with the relative low speed and mobility in thought I then simply use the dsame thechnique

Imo making it deadlier.
