This was an odd for me. The original concept is a capital-sized freight carrier with one variant, light offensive weapons, and a utility vehicle. It appears to have been retrofitted during the Rebellion era by the Alliance as a mobile repair ship for starfighters. In this version we have Mon Calamari backup shields and a significant upgrade in offensive power. It has also converted much of its cargo area to an engineering bay for starfighters. Though not listed, it makes sense this retrofit would also include a tractor beam array to help move ships into the bay.

These inferences to me seem reasonable and in keeping with the spirit of the design by E.C. Henry. I would appreciate input from others so the best possible version of this stats for this ship can be created.

NOTE: SIGNIFICANT CHANGES MADE SINCE ORIGINAL POST
After watching the YouTube video again and comparing the information presented on the webpage, I have decided that though compatible, is not in keeping to the spirit of E.C. Henry's design. So I have gone back and redesigned elements of the ships and presented it in a way that is more in keeping with his design.

YX-950 Industrial Freighter
A relatively common vessel prior to the Clone Wars, but after the collapse of the Republic, they are all but banned by the new Galactic Empire under the cover story that the power plant of the YX-950 was unstable and a potential safety hazard to its occupants as well as well as any shipyard facility it was docked at. In truth, the opposite was true. The YX-950 was only a threat to the Empire because it’s reactor system was so reliable. Like other Corellian freighter designs the YX-950 had a relatively massive decentralized reactor that could power over-sized engines and give it incredible durability for a ship of it’s size. It could also power a number of onboard facilities such as refineries for fuel and raw materials as well as fabrication base. This power output could easily be converted to support capital-scale weapons and was spread out across the ship making it difficult to destroy the entire power system simultaneously, making the ship capable of engaging Imperial frigates.

A YSB utility transport was preinstalled in the YX-950. Though the YX-950 is capable of landing, most space ports either couldn’t accommodate a ship of it size or charge prohibitive fees to discourage landing such a ship. That is where the YSB utility transport comes in. It has most of the features of a YT-style ship, but it is designed with short ferry flights in mind rather than long distance freight pushing like the YT-1300. The YSB is not designed to function independently as it has a less robust hyperdrive and and lower powered engines when compared with a YT-style freight, but its more than enough to carry personnel, equipment, and light cargo between the YT-950 and a planet’s surface. They are not unpopular ships in their own right and can easily be modified into a more capable and independent ship.

As the model of ship became increasingly rare in Imperial space, seasoned captains took their ship’s and their businesses as far from the Empire as they could. The demand for industrial freighters wasn’t as high in the low population Fringe regions and a number of these vessels would find their way into the growing Alliance fleet.

YX-950 “Kyprin Renegade” (same is YX-950 with the following modifications)
The ship’s namesake comes from the Chiron fish a symbol of freedom and tenacity in Corellian folklore and a patriotic symbol for some Corellian freedom fighters. The Kyprin Renegade bears this symbol on the underside of its hull. The Kyprin renegade was never converted into a warship, but instead made use of it’s existing onboard fabrication and mechanical bays. The Alliance was generally lacking in permanent bases and even they few it had weren’t ideal for overhauling crippled fighters or building new ones as these facilities were generally much harder to mobilize at a moments notice. Though the maintenance facilities aboard the Kyprin Renegade were never intended to be used on starfighters resulting in cramped conditions. To increase the number of fighters it could service the Renegade Kyprin carried lifter vehicles with specialized attachments for different Alliance fighters. Altogether the Renegade Kyprin could service two X-wings or Y-wings at once or easily size A-wings.

The Kyprin Renegade wasn’t the only maintenance ship in the Alliance fleet but it was certainly known as the most efficient and easily produced the best results. This was partially thanks to it’s famous team of cutting edge BA-series astromechs. These repair droids had improved intelligence over R-series astromechs and their omnidirectional spherical locomotion system allow them to work at an unprecedented speed. The apparent leader of this team was BA-77, a droid known by virtually every rebel fleet technician for it’s uncanny to problem-solve. The droid was so intelligent that it was often known to come up with solutions faster than organic life-forms could even comprehend the original problem. Needless to say, only the technicians with the highest levels of self-confidence worked aboard the Renegade.
Game Notes: The Kyprin has room in its docking bay area to work on two X-wings or three A-wings. The YSB has been upgraded with offensive capability:
Laser Cannon
-- Fire Arc: Turret
-- Crew: 1
-- Scale: Starfighter
-- Skill: Starship gunnery
-- Space Range: 1-3/12/25
-- Atmosphere Range: 100-300/1.2/2.5 km
-- Damage: 4D
