Rig Iugin, done with the star wars naming convention. Take any word, split it in half, rearrange the halves and add extra letters as neccessary.[/list]

Lyle Nightrunner - A fallen Jedi. He was used in a post RotJ game. He tried to exisit without using his Jedi training, relying more on his blaster than his lightsaber. Was killed by a group of Stromtroopers giving everyone else time to escape.

Tyran Morlinius - An X-wing pilot that met an unfortanate end, when he crashed into a Imperial Crusier.

Darius Komann - An A-Wing pilot turned Jedi Knight. I actually played him all the way through the NJO series. He managed to surive the game.

One my of gamers, Darryl rolled up a less than savory Wookiee named "Hakaluggy."

He also played a Jawa who went by the nom de plume of Filthy.

I forgot to mention one of my players was big fan of the Stargate Film and Exar Kun, he proposed a evil jedi who painted his eyes black and had the moniker of "Ra Kun." This guy (the player) had just bought a coonskin hat with both the head and tail on it...

Of the 852 character names I have listed in my campaign database, some of the best are:

Kyle Kwyjibo
Venger Bannibune
Rinzar Delgravin
Archibald Foppington XVI
Gaddis Gussibivar
Trellix Drammor
Viji Aggarok
Mortimer Jastune
Dr. Brinig Myrmus

...and, of course, Pompatus the Hutt.

In one my German 101 class, there was a French exchange student named Jamila (Ja-mEEla). The following night, I GMed and game, and it featured a female Hutt - Jamilla (Ja-MILLa) the Hutt. I couldn't look at that girl the same without seeing a large Hutt in her place...

I have a sys for coming up with "your" SW name; this is how it goes.....

Take the first 3 letters of your first name, (we will use William Smith as our example), Wil. Then take the first 2 letters of your last name Sm put them together Wilsm is our first name.

For the last name take the first 3 letters of your mother’s maiden name and the first 3 letters from the name of the city you were born in.

Its fun to try and of course you can get a more desirable result by adding or subtracting letters from the formula but you guys get the idea.

Do you retain umlauts if the name happens to include them?

In an early roleplaying exerience, when we were generally only inventive enough to come up with names like Bloodmonger or Steve, one of our group came up with a name we all admired - Nos'redna

When we he finally told us where he got it, it turned out it was just his last name backwards with a ' in it.

Since then using existing names of people or things and then spelling them backwards, with minor changes to add in pronuciation or sound quality, became a fun main-stay of character name creation.

Reminds me of the old Porn Star Name joke:
Take the name of your first pet as your Porn Star first name, and the name of the street you grew up on as your Porn Star last name. Mine is simply too humiliating to share. Very Happy
