What's the big deal with bowcasters? The damage sucks yet they're made out to be a special weapon that only wookies have.
Is it just flavor or am I missing something? |

Bowcasters are not only a Wookiee weapon, though they are the most famous users of them. Some models of bowcasters are equipped with a self cocking feature which allows non-Wookiees to use the weapon. This is basically the model used in the Dark Forces-Jedi Knights games, though that particular type of bowcaster also allows the user to fire three or more shots at once in a lovely spread fire format. Which would mean that each bolt would probably do the same amount of damage. Some bowcasters can also fire explosive rounds as well as regular blaster bolt style rounds.
