Can't tell you how excited I am for the info in this book. Plan on using quite a bit of this in my Mandolorian War campaign I'll be running in December. |

Will you be running that online?

Unfortunately no. I've never run a PBP game.
Maybe some time. I'll have to figure things out. Maybe try playing in one first.
However, I'll keep you guys posted in the adventures section. |

There are some interesting typos that I'm going to correct. Let me know if you start to work on this one Gry, and I can push it higher on my to-do list. Currently I'm still elbow-deep in Scavenger's Guide to Droids, and the next book hits the shelf on Friday.
The good news is that it looks like we're at least going to get a big break come April. _________________ __________________________________

If you mean you got three months before the next one comes out, then I agree with you. If you mean you think there's not going to be a lot of stat conversions in the next book, I'm not as certain as you might be. |

Actually I've already started working on it. I was almost halfway done when a freelance job drew me away from it. Now I'm going back to it and plan on getting it wrapped up pretty soon. So if you have any corrections you want to include, I'd advise you to put it on top of your to-do list. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

I've fixed the stuff that I've found. I'm sure there will always be a little typo that slips in somewhere, but everyone is free to double-check my work. It's a community project, right?

Uh, you wouldn't happen to have only the alterations you made, would you. Cause I've already done some work on the previous document, so it's kinda hard to merge the two of them without losing information. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

The only real significant work was with the total cybornetic replacement. I did some minor tweaking of the Rotary Blaster Cannon, but only minor explanatory changes. Oh, and I tweaked the formatting of the Tactical Tractor Beam.
All in all, not very significant changes with the exception of the total cybornetic replacement. That included some information accidentally cut and pasted from a different entry. _________________ __________________________________

I was thinking about changing the darkstick mechanics a little bit. I'd just prefer to avoid an Advanced skill whenever possible. By increasing the difficulty of the throw, it basically ensures that only a trained user should be able to do it succesfully. But do you think the -2D penalty is a good value?
Darkstick
Model: Kerestian Darkstick
Type: Exotic melee/thrown weapon
Scale: Character
Skill: Melee combat/Thrown weapons
Cost: 1,000
Availability: 4
Difficulty: Easy (melee)
Range: 5-10/30/50
Damage: STR+1D (melee), 4D+2 (thrown)
Game Notes:
A darkstick is held between the knuckles, allowing more than one to be wielded at a time. Wielding two or more darksticks in one hand grants a +1D bonus to damage (the bonus applies only once). The darkstick blade is similar to a very small lightsaber, being able to cut through most anything. The darkstick may also be thrown, very much like a boomerang. However, due to the weightless nature of the blade, anyone throwing a darkstick suffers a -2D thrown weapons penalty. If a character exceeds the difficulty by five or more then he may catch the darkstick on its return trip. Darksticks include webs of light-absorbing cells that, when activated, shroud the wielder in complete darkness. This grants the wielder +2D to their sneak skill in low-light environments. However, characters with darkvision ignore the wielder’s bonus.

I would think if the original one by WEG requires the (A) skill to use it. We should leave that. That's just my opinion. Maybe what you could do, is that someone without the required (A) skill can attempt to use it. At -1D or -2D, or an increased difficulty. |

Blast it! That's the problem when you go back to a project after staying away from it for too long. You forget why you were doing things the way you were doing in the first place.
You're right, we should follow the original WEG description whenever possible. Disregard the above stats...
I just wonder if the advanced skill should be neccesary to wield it like a claw or only for throwing it. I don't see much mistery in slashing at an enemy with a blade between your knuckles, a simple Melee Combat roll should suffice. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

It would be very hard to catch one, based on the description. It seems to me like a Melee Combat to use it, and the Advanced skill to throw it. _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |
