As long as we also cover the Ewok Adventures! Those cute, cuddly, and marketable little bears deserve their own source book.... one that can be burned! _________________ Xynar

Hey Gry Sarth what about the starship guide? Is it not finished or does the link for it not working? I never knew about these forums. I have always used the SWRPGnetwork forums. But havn't posted on there in a while. Any ways I'm starting up another campaign next week after probably a year hiatis from the game. Been working on all my stuff. Just I get side tracked so much. Used to get all my conversions from the rebellion site but he hasn't updated the site in a very long time. Welp thanks for all the hard work and any help you can give me.

There were some problems w/ the ships book... the owners of some of the deckplans didn't want them distributed, so Gry, bein' the great guy he is, decided to take the book down, rather than aggrevate the people... _________________ "Love like you will die tomorrow. They're big gripe is about having the proper credit for the pics. I understand but they don't need to be on the pic itself. And to quote one of them loosly, there is a fair use policy for artwork and if the credit is in the netbook as it would be in a real book, they can't complain about not getting credit. _________________ Xynar

Oh yes they can, and some did. It's their prerogative, I guess, but I feel they're doing themselves a disservice by acting that way and depriving people of seeing their designs in as many places as possible. So Gry did right by deciding to remove it, even though it is much sought after. Just don't blame him if you don't have it, as it wasn't his reasoning that demanded it to be removed. |

Indeed. I proposed to them that I add the proper credit to the book, in whichever way they preferred, but most of them still wouldn't budge...
I find it very strange that people are so possessive of this kind of fan material, but I don't want to cross anyone, so I respected their wishes. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Thanks for the replies every one. And to be totally honest I completely agree with a lot of you. If you make some fan material and then put it up on the web then it should be free reign to every one as long as it isn't changed and the proper credit is given. Let it be shared among every one and if possible let it be apart of some of the best fan made source books out there on the net. Just my two cents. |

I agree also. If anyone wants to poach stuff from my site, they're welcome to it . Just give credit where it's due.
I'd like to give credit to whomever I downloaded the Lightsaber Construction Rules on my site from . It was so many years ago though I have no idea who's they are. |

Yeah, Gry did the right thing. The artists' wishes have been satisfied. However, being an artist myself, I'm having trouble understanding their take on it. I personally would be thrilled to have someone using my work in their book-especially a SW sourcebook! All I'd require would be a caption or something giving me the credit; don't put it right on the pic, for cryin out loud...talk about defacing the work! |
